A controversy has erupted over day-long traffic diversions and security measures implemented across Coimbatore, Avinashi, and Dharapuram ahead of a by-election campaign roadshow. Massive roadblocks, barricades, and vehicle checks across the route have led to chock-a-block traffic conditions, impacting daily commutes as well as access to hospitals, schools, and colleges. Red zones have been designated by the Coimbatore District Police, and entry to the campaign venue in Dharapuram has been restricted to individuals carrying QR code passes.
