00:00Well, it is potentially the most obvious sign yet that we're heading for an early general election.
00:05A new Prime Minister with a majority that he's inherited with no mandate at all whatsoever, of course,
00:12talking already about what his offer is going to be at the next general election.
00:19It is yet another clear sign that the country is heading for an early vote.
00:26And if you don't believe me, watch this with Andy Burnham today on the BBC.
00:31So I'm saying to you that I will develop a very clear plan and I will put that plan to
00:38the public at a general election.
00:40OK, so that's the timeline.
00:41That will be where the plan gets tested and people will then be able to decide.
00:46And I am prepared to put myself in that position, recognising that it might be difficult or unpopular with some.
00:53But that is the way to do it, to get that endorsement and then introduce the system in the next
00:59Parliament,
01:00because the backing of people for this really matters.
01:04So to be really clear, you've just set this out then.
01:06You are going to put to the country at the next general election a proposition for a care service that
01:12will be free at the point of use,
01:14paid for by everyone, and that will be on the ballot paper next time around.
01:18With precise explanation as to how it's going to be funded.
01:22So, yeah, I mean, he's just come in as Prime Minister.
01:25He's already talking about the offer at the next general election.
01:28I'm pretty sure it's happening, folks.
01:31And as to what that next election currently looks like, we can see in terms of the more in common
01:38MRP megapole that's just come out,
01:41how things are looking.
01:42It's Labour ahead with reform as the main challenger.
01:48And that is on a vote share, by the way.
01:50And just consider, you know, this is pretty much as good as it's going to get for Labour.
01:54This is the honeymoon period under Andy Burnham.
01:57Labour with a two-point lead, 26 to 24 percent for reform.
02:02And just to show you the margins at play here, nearly half the seats estimated here, one by fewer than
02:08five points.
02:09You can see in terms of the lead for Labour, a two-point swing to reform would make reform the
02:14largest party.
02:15A five-point swing would give reform a majority.
02:19A three-point swing to Labour would give them one.
02:21It really is all to play for, folks.
02:24But I think that is a major indication, again, that the country is heading to the polls sooner rather than
02:31later.
