00:00Well look, the rumours, the murmurings of an early general election are not going away. In fact,
00:05they're ramping up again to the point where I'd be pretty surprised if the next general election
00:11isn't called until 2029. But before I get to what people are saying, what the rumours are,
00:18I mean, you have to look at the state of the country in terms of taxpayers being ripped off
00:23time and time again. British taxpayers now are being shafted to the tune of billions of pounds
00:29a year and unpaid student loan debt. One in five student loans for some reason are going to
00:35foreigners. Romanians accounting for one in 20. And you're seeing here unpaid student loan debt
00:42costing UK taxpayers between 1.2 and 2.2 billion each year. Foreign students 25% less likely to
00:50repay their loans. And a situation, of course, where the welfare budget in this country utterly,
00:57utterly out of control. And as ever, Labour want people to stump up even higher taxes
01:03to fund what is fundamentally an unfair system. And already you're starting to see the burn and
01:10bounce, signs that this is already coming down a bit. Andy Burnham's approval rating, yes,
01:16higher than Keir Starmer's, but down five points in a week. The latest salvation poll had both Labour
01:22and the Conservatives down and reform in first place. And so others now pointing out that they think
01:29the chance of an early election is very, very possible. Indeed, the talk is from City AM that the
01:39city is now awash with talk of an early general election, that Burnham could go for it, and that
01:46frankly, given all of his pledges and policies, none of which really were in the Labour manifesto,
01:52surely at some point he's going to have to try and seek his own mandate. In terms of a strategic
01:57move,
01:58you've also had James Johnson of JL Partners saying that this is Burnham's big chance before
02:06his poll bounce collapses, and that Burnham should go for a general election this year,
02:12or next year by the very latest, that how he sees it is that reform would make big gains,
02:20that Kemi Badenowicz's Conservatives would suffer losses, but that this could be the only chance
02:25Labour realistically have of winning the next general election. And I guess that really is the
02:31dilemma with signs already that the Burnham bounce is coming down, is fading. Could you see Andy
02:38Burnham gamble and go for it? Please do let me know your thoughts on that in the comments below.
02:43Please do whack this video a quick thumbs up, and of course, as ever, cheers for watching.
