00:12Yeah, I felt bad for Giants fans last night.
00:14We talked about it last week when I was with you on the show,
00:17that this, to me, felt like a bounce-back spot for this Rams team
00:20after what we saw from them in Week 1 in Australia.
00:23But I was expecting the Giants to look more formidable.
00:25Now, of course, you get Dart going down with an injury.
00:28The interesting thing was is that in Week 1, he actually protected himself really well.
00:31This was a little bit more of an innocuous injury in comparison to some of the,
00:35as you said, crash chest dummy behavior we saw from him last year.
00:38So just an unfortunate circumstance, hopefully for Giants fans,
00:41as you said in bringing up the Rappaport tweet,
00:44like this is not going to be a long-term injury.
00:46He's only going to be out for possibly a couple of weeks with that MCL problem.
00:49But, yeah, unfortunate for Giants fans.
00:51We were expecting a good game on Monday Night Football last night.
00:54But as somebody who backed the Rams in the six-and-a-half points,
00:57I said it to you last week that I thought that that was going to get under that touchdown line
01:00with the Giants getting some love.
01:02And we saw the Rams absolutely bounce back last night.
01:04Sean McVay is one of the best coaches in the NFL coming off a loss, ATS,
01:08and that was present last night.
01:10This team looked sharp, aggressive on offense.
01:13Even without Pukinukua, Devontae Adams went crazy for almost 200 yards.
01:17Matthew Stafford looked razor sharp.
01:19He looked like the MVP last night.
01:20And that's what this team needs to be a Super Bowl contender this season.
01:24Also, no Miles Garrett on the defensive side, obviously.
01:27What does Aaron Donald do in his first game?
01:30Absolutely control the defensive line.
01:32He was getting double-teamed.
01:33Guys had played football in almost three years and had an over 20% win rate
01:37on the defensive line.
01:38So just insane stuff from the former All-Pro last night.
01:40If you're a Rams fan, you're feeling really happy that you flushed week one,
01:44you got week two.
01:45Sean McVay last night, too, Dan, one more point,
01:47came out on this press conference and had accountability
01:51for what that travel schedule looked like.
01:53He said, I made a boneheaded decision as a coach.
01:55We made a bad decision with the travel plans.
01:57You flush it, you move on, and you just go play football again.
02:01And I love seeing that from a head coach of a professional football team
02:05coming out and owning that you make mistakes as a player,
02:07you make mistakes as a franchise,
02:09and you make mistakes as a head coach, the leader of men,
02:11and then you move on and you go win the next week.
02:13So I love that from the Rams last night.
02:15And they gave the Giants the business like I kind of thought they would.
02:19Yeah, no doubt.
02:20That was a mic drop last night by Sean McVay, too,
02:23when he was at the podium taking that accountability.
02:25Dude, how good is Devontae Adams, man?
02:28A year ago, he led the NFL in touchdown catches.
02:30I mean, you look at his volume, too, of targets that he had a year ago.
02:34Not high, but this dude led the NFL in touchdown catches.
02:37And here he is here, 10 targets, 8 catches, 195, two TDs.
02:41Could have had a third in the ballgame.
02:43This dude's got to go down as one of the greatest wide receivers
02:46in the recent times that we've seen guys catching footballs.
02:50I saw a list before we got on the show that he's now 7th in the NFL history
02:54in wide receiver touchdowns.
02:56And every single name above him, you know, Jerry Rice,
02:58Lear Fitzgerald, all those guys, they're all Hall of Famers.
03:01So it's seeming like that he's going to have a golden jacket on
03:04when he ends up hanging up the cleats.
03:06But last night, he looked awesome.
03:07Eight catches, like you mentioned, 10 targets.
03:09No Pukin Nakua for the wide receiver one spot.
03:11But we know what Matthew Stafford's going to do with wide receiver ones.
03:14If you're the guy and he trusts you, he's going to throw you the football.
03:17And we saw that on full display last night.
03:19It's just, it's kind of interesting how we get fascinated with these young players
03:24that come in the NFL and these rookies.
03:26And you think you guys in their prime when they're in their late 20s, early 30s.
03:29And then, you know, sometimes you guys get kicked to the curb, right?
03:32Look what Travis Kelsey did on Sunday Night Football.
03:34Travis Kelsey right now, Dan, leads the NFL in yak yards.
03:38The 35-year-old concrete boot tight end that everybody was blaming last year
03:43leaves the NFL in yak yards.
03:45Now, a lot of that is the offense of the Chiefs right now
03:47and the way that Patrick Mahomes obviously has that connection with Kelsey.
03:50But sometimes football players just know how to play football,
03:54know how to get open, know how to work their way in an offense.
03:57And we saw that on Sunday night with old man Kelsey.
03:59And we saw that last night with Devontae Adams
04:01with just how special he can still be in the NFL.
04:04I want to add one thing to that Kansas City offense here.
04:07Do you agree also that's opening it up for a guy like Travis Kelsey
04:11is also the addition of Kenneth Walker?
04:13Because, dude, that offensive line now, being able to move the chains on the ground.
04:18I mean, you know, staying on the ground is going to be something
04:21that Andy Reid's going to really have to maybe wrap his mind around
04:25a little bit in his play calling.
04:26But he's kind of opened it all up again there in Kansas City, no?
04:31Man, you can just tell the way that Patrick Mahomes looks at Kenneth Walker
04:35in interviews when they talk about him.
04:36Like, he hasn't had a running back like this in his entire career.
04:39He hasn't had a guy that he can turn around and give the football to
04:42and get you 200 yards on the ground.
04:44So he doesn't know what that feels like.
04:45And we're seeing that.
04:46And as you mentioned, Andy Reid, Eric Biennemi,
04:49these guys are just having beautiful dreams at night
04:52about the so many different ways that they can now open up this offense
04:56for still one of the best, if not the best quarterback in the NFL
05:00currently right now who has multiple Super Bowl rings.
05:02I thought, Dan, the interesting point was
05:04Kenneth Walker opens up this offense completely.
05:06But we saw Patrick Mahomes on Sunday Night Football
05:09make some just absolute dime pieces.
05:13I mean, he was throwing dots everywhere.
05:15And that's a guy coming off an ACL injury on that plant foot.
05:18Looked a little trepidatious in week one.
05:20But we saw vintage Mahomes in week two.
05:22And as I said, the boogeyman might be back.
05:24Kansas City is no joke this year with Walker, obviously,
05:27with what Travis Kelce is able to do.
05:28But at 15, slinging the pill like that, look out, AFC.
