00:00Dave, talk to me here.
00:01This is a field goal number between Ole Miss and LSU.
00:04The total sitting right now at 58 and a half everywhere I look.
00:09How did you or how would you look to play?
00:12What is the biggest game on this Saturday slate?
00:15If you had asked me three weeks ago before the season started about this game,
00:18I would have jumped on Ole Miss with the home field advantage
00:21and Lane's return and this game means the world to them
00:25and this and that and the whole, you know,
00:26gone Benedict Arnold and all that.
00:28But I've also seen LSU play for the last couple of weeks.
00:30I've seen Ole Miss play the last couple of weeks
00:32and my opinion on that has changed.
00:34I'm not fading LSU anytime soon.
00:36I know they're going to go on the road into a very tough environment,
00:38but it's also an environment that half this team has played in before,
00:41including their head coach.
00:43The Tigers own top 10 ranks in Havocs.
00:45Discuss the rate allowed and quality drives allowed.
00:47LSU's only allowed six opponents to drive across the 40-yard line all season.
00:51And by the way, that included ACC's Clemson.
00:54Now, Ole Miss is good.
00:55They got arguably the best quarterback and best running back in the game,
00:59like in this physical game in Chambliss and Lacey.
01:02But I think the advantage goes to the head coach
01:04and to the overall depth of the team when you look at
01:06they have a top 10 roster of blue chippers that has shined through two weeks.
01:10So, I'm on LSU.
01:11I don't want to be on LSU.
01:13I liked Ole Miss before the season started.
01:15I still like Ole Miss as a team.
01:16I just think that the depth of talent that Lane has on that squad,
01:21and it's not like this is five years ago
01:24and they're just going back to Ole Miss for a revenge game.
01:26He was there six months ago.
01:28They know the environment.
01:29They know what they're up against.
01:30And Lane is on a mission.
01:32He's checking boxes and kicking butt as he goes.
01:35He's had this one circled probably since January 1.
01:40I like him in this spot because this is a spot where if he's going to win one game
01:43the rest of the year, it's going to be this one.
01:47So, I really agree with all of that.
01:49When I looked at the way, again, this line was booked in the summer.
01:53You know, kind of the beauty of college football.
01:56Like, this doesn't happen in the NFL really where I can tell someone,
02:01Lions, Panthers, week four, they've got this wrong.
02:05Can't wait to bet.
02:06It's like there's a lot that's going to happen and things are going to change.
02:09In the college game, you kind of have to form a couple of opinions
02:14on the biggest games.
02:16Like, David, I spoke about it last week going into Texas-Ohio State.
02:19I knew I liked Texas in July, right?
02:23Like, so I knew I liked LSU.
02:29Unfortunately for that, LSU did what they did to Clemson.
02:33And, you know, the Tigers have not been booked in the same sense.
02:38And all of a sudden, it's, okay, now we're laying three
02:41instead of getting one and a half.
02:44And it's a lot.
02:46And it's pushed me back from a side that because of some of this Levitt stuff,
02:51I'm happy to be pushed back from.
02:53And it's pushed me off a total even because of the Levitt stuff.
02:57And for those of you who can bet the college football player props,
03:02there is a, to me, the surefire C and round one guy is Ole Miss'
03:09Kwon Lacy, not Levitt or Chambliss.
03:13Kwon Lacy entered into this season as the preseason first-team
03:18All-American running back.
03:19Kwon Lacy last year had 24 rushing touchdowns for Ole Miss.
03:26And you may think, oh, but is he off to that rock star of a start?
03:31Don't worry about it, guys.
03:32All right?
03:33He was a little banged up against Louisville.
03:35And then against Charlotte, only 13 carries because that was not a real game.
03:41This is a game where I think they look to lean on this kid massively.
03:47Because I don't know if the Ole Miss defense is going to, you know,
03:55have their way with this LSU offense.
03:58I think it is wise to use a Kwon Lacy here early and often
04:03and allow Chambliss to settle into this game a little bit,
04:06which is going to have a lot of energy for him as well.
04:10And Lacy is also an explosive runner.
04:13I think back to the game against Miami in the semifinal,
04:17where, again, he was a little banged up.
04:19But it didn't stop him from going for 100 because he had a 73-yard run in that game.
04:23I think Lacy pops a big one here, Dave.
04:25He's, it probably sounds bizarre, but he's actually the player I'm most excited to watch
04:30in this matchup between Ole Miss and LSU.
04:34That has to be the game plan if Ole Miss is going to hold LSU down,
04:39is to keep them off the field and get Lacy the action
04:42and be able to sustain drives and keep LSU's blue chippers off the field
04:47because that's the way you win this game at home is control the clock, control the game.
04:51I like Lacy's play there.
04:53I just worry that no one's stopping LSU right now.
04:56And I'm not sure that Ole Miss' defense, who didn't really stop Louisville,
05:00has the talent to stop LSU either.
05:03And, you know, you look at the total.
05:05There's been a lot of money and a lot of sharp people that I know
05:07that are on the under in this one.
05:09And you and I talked last week.
05:11Fading an LSU offense and playing an under, that's tough to do.
05:14It's very tough to do with what Lane is doing
05:16because if Lane could choose to put up 100 tonight, he would.
05:20But that's a tough under to take it.
05:23And I do lean that way, but I'd rather take LSU on the side
05:26and say the talent's going out here.
