00:00The police commissioner says the police service and defense force are ready to operate under the special operations bill once
00:06it is passed by the parliament.
00:08Have you been looking at the bill to make sure that in terms of those finite details, for example, a
00:15closed area being, could we have barriers, roadblocks, that kind of thing, upon determination, I guess, of intelligence and so
00:22on, is that something you are also preparing for?
00:25Well, the police service, we already have all the resources necessary to carry out that function, but I don't want
00:31to speak too much on the bill because it still has to be debated in parliament and the persons who
00:35can speak are not standing right behind me.
00:38But at the end of the day, TTPS, as well as the TTDF, and I want to speak freely because
00:42we are all part of one law enforcement organization, we stand prepared and ready to do what it takes to
00:48make sure we take back Trader and Tobago from the criminals.
00:51The police commissioner was speaking with the media during a visit to the new police post at the Adi Hart
00:56grounds.
00:57He was joined by Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander, who also spoke with the media.
01:03The behavior of persons in your community will determine whether or not your area becomes a special operation area.
01:13So if you are behaving good, by all means, but if you are terrorizing the community and all of that,
01:18who knows what will happen next?
01:20So it's because of persons in their community and their behavior, hold them accountable.
