00:00Well, after getting Zimbabwe to the Super 8s of the World Cup as a bowling coach,
00:05former West Indies fast bowler Courtney Walsh has indicated that he is in talks with Zimbabwe to stay on as
00:11coach.
00:12Zimbabwe was able to defeat both Australia and Sri Lanka on their way to the Super 8s.
00:17Well, I was contracted for the World Cup, but they have indicated that they would like me to spend some
00:21more time with them.
00:22So we're in discussion at the moment to see how best that can be worked out.
00:25And it would have to be a long-term deal, and they say, yeah, they're keen on that.
00:30So there's every possibility that I could go with them for a lot longer.
00:34Apart from coaching Zimbabwe, speaking on the Mason & Guest show,
00:38he added that he will switch his attention to the Pakistan Super League,
00:42where he will be coaching alongside former Pakistan batsman Inzimam ul Haq.
00:46I'm in Antigua right now, got in a couple of days ago,
00:49and by the weekend I'll be heading off with the PSL in Pakistan.
00:54I will have a little stint with them.
00:56Who are you with there in Pakistan, the PSL?
01:03Who are you with? Which team are you with?
01:05Pinsley and Rol Pinsley, with Rizan as captain and Inzimam as our mentor.
01:11Commenting on the performance of the West Indies in the World Cup,
01:14he gave them a passing grade.
01:15Yeah, I was happy with the way they played. I was happy with the approach.
01:19One or two things I would have probably thought about,
01:22but not being in the camp, I'm not sure about the selection in terms of pitches and whatever, match-ups.
01:26But I think the overall attitude, the way they went about it, the confidence that they showed,
01:32I was very excited.
01:35India and India was always going to be a difficult game.
01:38And I think in the venue that they played them at,
01:40it's a venue that you know if you bat second in the jugular,
01:43it's going to come out on top eight times out of ten.
01:45So it was probably a bad toss to lose.
01:48But the way they went about it, the whole campaign,
01:51I was happy for what I saw.
01:53He also took the opportunity to wish the West Indies women the best of luck
01:57against Australia in the T20 and ODI series.
02:00I just want to wish them all the very best in that series.
02:02As you know, I used to be involved, so I still follow the team from time to time.
02:06And I'm hoping that we can spring a surprise or two against Australia.
02:10It won't be easy.
02:11No, no.
02:11I'm hoping, I'm hopeful.
02:12It's invincible, yes.
02:14Ambassador, do you miss being head coach of the women's team?
02:19No, no.
02:19I think I did my time.
02:21I passed on.
02:23Send you the fort if you seek support.
