00:51little bit of a exhaustion from travel still as you as you get back to Pacific time zone I don't
00:59know how the hell that I think about you know I get it and I don't want to act like

01:04thing I guess it's a thing um there's also the idea of sort of the emotion of last week so
01:12you're on the
01:12come down and as a home game home opener against the Miami Dolphins not get your attention I think
01:20this team's a little bit too good for that I don't think they need to play their best game to
01:24still win um I don't know man I don't know the Dolphins just they do not they just don't have

01:31much to offer they're just a bunch of babies out there trying to figure it out oh yeah absolutely
01:36so anyway um one of the pieces of sound that is making the rounds this week is a basically on
01:44field conversation between Fred Warner and Dre Greenlaw I love those two guys together well among
01:52the things that are exciting coming out of week one the two of them being paired back together and
01:58looking the way they did has got to be high on the list and Dre's looking healthy is amazing I

02:04that's if Dre is healthy it's the best linebacking duo in the NFL not even close because Fred's the
02:10best linebacker in the NFL usually Fred and whoever's standing next to him are high on the
02:14list yeah whoever the hell it is and Greenlaw is a far above average linebacker when he's healthy
02:20those two together I mean it transforms the defense which Rams tight end was the one that fumbled was
02:25a Parkinson was it Higby Higby it was Higby Chase says it was I think it was Higby all right
02:32so Fred is
02:34basically saying to Dre on the sideline you know what to do it was Higby okay hold him up and

02:42I'm gonna come in and punch it out and that's exactly what happened he said it on the sideline

04:20in fact will give away one of the people who made my list but in watching that video i'm like

04:34i i texted you and i said let's put together our top five current bay area badasses okay and then
04:45deliver the list and um i say the word current with such force because no lifetime achievement awards
04:55just that was the rule that i felt like let's talk about right now ronnie lot would have been on

05:26there's some badass stuff going on right now there's probably going to be a very nfl heavy theme to this
05:31because i think a lot of badasses play in the nfl specifically but there are badasses in other
05:36sports as well um i'm going to start on the hardwood with the valkyries number five oh you're going
05:44valkyries gabby williams she's got a badass gabby williams is a badass and the way she's transformed
05:50the transformed the team in her first year yeah she's she's a badass she's up there she's number
05:54five for me okay you've got uh gabby williams at number five all right at number five i am going

06:11too i mean i just i want everybody to take a moment to realize what we're looking at he's 21

06:18um his ops is over 800 he's got 17 home runs and i think more importantly is the maturity that

06:27far beyond the years and he's like over there playing in a lineup with a bunch of not even four
06:33eight players like non-major leaguers right now and his numbers are ticking back up the whole rafi
06:39devers situation i think he has just held the fort down at such a high level both physically and
06:46emotionally at age 21 to me he's a badass he's number five on my list um can i read you

06:53eldridge stat that blew my mind earlier this week i was gonna say this is a stat so stat that's

07:00so this is very specific numbers but i'm just i don't need to give you the percentages or all the
07:05numbers exactly players age 21 or younger to have as many played appearances a walk percentage as high
07:13as bryce does a slugging percentage as high as bryce does and a weighted runs created plus as high
07:18as bryce does at age 21 or younger the only players in major league baseball history to do that
07:24mike trout bryce harper juan soto juan soto again and bryce eldridge oh my god that is it
07:33across major league baseball history are you serious that's three players i'm serious the
07:39three players ahead of him who have done it are all going to be in the hall of fame no

07:55else he's just a badass a lot of it is just how big he is and his size like that's

08:02but also the position that he plays he just mauls dudes and he looks to put on display how badass

08:34would say about trent williams the craziest most maniacal alpha human beings on planet earth and in
08:43sports are all scared of trent williams oh yeah in the nfl like we've seen this there'll be a scuffle
08:52going on after the play and then trent will walk over and everyone's like okay we're good we're good
08:57we're good trent and people will just move on about their way he is and i love that steve young

09:05this week said he's in the conversation for best player in the history of the sport of football he is
09:13the biggest baddest mother you know what that i have ever seen out there um and he does it at

09:21position where there's no stats and stuff like that but i'm with you man trent had to be on this

09:26one of the favorite things uh that i look forward to to to hear and watch every year is when
09:33the nfl
09:33puts out their players selected top 100 players so the players vote on their their top 100 players in
09:40the nfl entering that season trent is always in the top 100 because he's one of the greatest players
09:45ever and has been for a long time but they do like these video packages for i think every player
09:51in
09:51the top 100 and whenever you get to trent's video package of other players talking about that player
09:57it's just like everyone's like i mean it's trent williams right like i mean they tell stories
10:02but i remember that dude running at me on a christian mccaffrey toss to the right and i'm like well
10:08i'm gonna die i'm like it's just like you see that dude running at you what are you supposed to
10:13do he's otherworldly um there's some video that someone sent me a handful of years ago before he
10:20was a niner um and he was working out i think at adrian peterson's facility in texas okay while
10:26washington and him were having their standoff and some of the stuff that he was doing in a gym when
10:31you watch someone who's 330 pounds jump the way he does i am scared show the athleticism the way
10:38he does it's just like how fast he is it's incredible human being like it is out of control
10:44so i'm scared yeah well that too i'm scared trent what who's your number three number three number
10:50three uh this guy you know his nickname is or at least it was opposite of badass for a long
10:57time
10:58but he is a badass it's steph curry steph curry is a badass he used to be called maybe still

11:04the baby-faced assassin and that doesn't really give across badass vibes in general but man that
11:10dude on the court he's the epitome of a badass steph curry is number three for me it's getting a
11:16little frightening for me number three steph curry oh no uh on the badass list and i know that there
11:22might be some of you who immediately go what the hell are the two of you talking about putting
11:26him at number three this is why i said current so loudly he is 38 he is coming off of
11:33runner's knee
11:34yes he gets the lifetime achievement award for me for sure as number one but in this moment he doesn't
11:41quite have all of the powers and all of the physical health um that that he once did but he
11:49terrifies
11:50defenses in ways that i think we don't even see obviously his size to me makes him documentary
11:58worthy he is the greatest tiny athlete ever in my opinion and that goes across any sport um the aura
12:07that he has when he walks into a room will stop anyone's breath he is a top five top ten
12:15all-time
12:16nba player at half the size so yes he belongs on the list but that's why for me he's not

12:22i think um there was a turning point in terms of how steph was maybe thought about by the general
12:29public and it was the 2022 finals because like a lot of people like great player best shooter ever
12:35clearly one of the greatest point guards of all time hadn't won finals mvp hadn't won finals mvp but
12:40you don't really think of him as like this crazy maniacal guy on the court he's gonna smile at you
12:47and he's out there laughing and dancing like he's not really a badass like who are we kidding he's not
12:52a badass right and then the 2022 finals comes around he wins mvp he hits a three it's like the
12:59third
12:59quarter in boston the game six and he's pointing to his ring finger like ring me it's the third quarter
13:04you know how badass that is badass it's shifted and i think most people's minds in 2022 no doubt
13:10that's what opened the door to people putting him top 10 top five all time absolutely but also just in
13:15general like the badass vibe that he gave out he didn't always give it off and i don't think i'm
13:19mildly terrified that our list is going to be the same the rest of the way we'll we'll find out
13:23what do you got at number two number two number two for me is fred warner so i i think
13:29fred is in
13:30your list i think you probably have him number one we'll find out i mean the example that
13:34you gave that led us into this conversation calling your shot on the peanut punch and then
13:39doing it like who does that who does that a couple years ago playing with a fractured ankle all season
13:47and never even making a fuss never even making it known that he was playing on that broken ankle all
13:53season long he's been the greatest linebacker in the nfl for nearly his entire career he just passed
14:00patrick willis as the niner with the most tackles in franchise history fred warner badass number two
14:07in the bay for me there's a possibility that uh our one and two are going to be inverted for
14:12me
14:13number two is macklin celebrini oh san jose sharks um going to get to see him live last year was
14:21an
14:22experience and this is always what kind of stands out to me when you go to sporting events and especially
14:28when you get to see someone for the first time there are some people that even when they're not
14:34doing what they do in other words not in the process of scoring a goal or getting an assist
14:41simply the process of being the aura you just go oh my that's different you can see it with very
14:51few
14:51athletes i would have him he may get to number one but we're so early in the career and he's
14:59yet to
14:59even perform in a playoff game i know that he's already been on a huge stage in the olympics and
15:05held
15:05up incredibly well while doing it but if you haven't had a chance to see macklin i really suggest it

15:12if you're not a huge hockey fan you will notice him on the ice immediately he's different he's going
15:20to be the best player in the game if he isn't already um and so he's number two on my
15:25bay area
15:26badass list right now macklin celebrini it's a great call i'm glad you have him on your list
15:30um because i wanted him represented i don't have him on my list and i think it's because number one
15:36now is um i am intrigued it's because he's young and he has plenty of time and i think there's
15:43this
15:43other guy who for me is the biggest badass there is let me hear it number one number one it's

15:49kiddo for me george kiddo there's something so unique about george because he's one of the best
15:55pass catching tight ends that this game has ever seen yet i think he likes the contact and the
16:01physicality and the blocking more than catching passes there's no question and not only does he
16:06like it more he literally sounds like a maniacal crazy person when doing it whenever you get george
16:12kiddo mic'd up i forget if it was the packers playoff game or the vikings playoff game they both
16:18were very similar when in 2019 when they just ran the ball endlessly and kiddo's mic'd up and they
16:25run the ball and he's blocking and he pancakes somebody and he just like belly flops on top of
16:30them while they're on the ground and he's screaming into the huddle run it again run it again run it
16:36again i'm nice here okay you imagine how crazy you have to be and almost like messed up in the
16:41head
16:41to be as good as you are at catching the football and scoring touchdowns and how fun that is
16:47but like doing the other stuff more to me that's badass number one it's george kiddo i mean he's
16:52equally as impressive too with what he's now building off of the field in terms of his persona
16:58um his content uh the marketing of the whole thing he's just one of these people and they're very rare
17:06but you never hear a bad thing about him no nobody's had a bad interaction um and that goes for
17:13people
17:13who are in the nfl and just fans on the street steph curry carries that exact same label by the
17:19way
17:19and that stuff impresses me even more because without saying that we know the person i think
17:24we'll feel very comfortable saying this is just a beautiful person not just a beautiful athlete
17:29it pains me that he didn't even make my list that's crazy i thought it i thought it but the
17:35bay area has
17:36more than five badasses right now um and so who knows we'll call him number six if you will um
17:42but
17:43absolutely the inspiration for this entire conversation for me is that i think fred warner
17:49is the biggest badass in the entire bay and it's for multiple reasons he is such an inspirational leader
17:59you never i mean a lot of what i'm going to say probably it it goes to george as well
18:05but there seems
18:05to be this overly confident grin on his face at all times joy just emanating from him in the middle
18:16of being one of the nuttiest people doing the craziest things that you've ever seen on the field
18:23but then off the field just like the nicest dude snaps fingers and becomes an absolute gem same thing as
18:31george right and like has caught all the building of the content with his family and his wife and uh
18:38and and the leader that he has been quite frankly on both sides of the ball and i don't think
18:43we say
18:44enough how clearly and unequivocally he is the best linebacker in the sport and it's really not close
18:54the gap from him to number two is just gargantuan and when all of those key 49ers went down last
19:02year
19:02and i still hate this story i said to my daughter as we watched the game against the buccaneers
19:08and the niners were still playing pretty well and kittle was out and purdy was out and bosa was out
19:15and all of these people were lost and i said to her 54 that's the one we can't lose and
19:22then he got
19:23hurt two plays later thanks a lot willard yeah two plays later out came the cart and um and my
19:29daughter by the way has i mean the biggest crush i have ever watched one person have on another person
19:36on fred warner to the point where she got mad at me when we had him on the show and
19:40i didn't mention
19:40it to him i'm like honey i'm not gonna write so friend my daughter like oh god i'm the biggest
19:48mower of all time so anyway um we could have we could have gone a lot of directions there
19:55i got fred warner as my biggest badass in the bay so we both have three niners on our top

20:07steph curry macklin celebrini you threw in gabby williams and kittle and george kittle and you
20:14shared uh trent and fred and steph with me can't lie the including bryce eldridge surprised me a
20:21little bit i guess i should have expected it can't lie macklin not being on your list surprised me
20:27was mccaffrey close yeah absolutely i mean like we could if you want here on the top 10 there's like
20:35another segment coming up there's like a level of of physicality that i connect with with badass
20:42and obviously mccaffrey goes through a lot of physicality but i think it's more like people
20:47that inflict the physicality on other people yeah i look at it in steph curry sent matthew
20:52delvedova to the hospital like that's badass and it is career yeah like i i and i think badass can
21:00mean a lot of different things i think that the jobs as celebrities and how they handle all of
21:04this and who they are within the game i think logan webb is a badass i think christian mccaffrey
21:10is a badass i think brock purdy is a badass i think kyle use check is is is a badass
21:16um who else on the
21:18warriors right now i mean draymond is somewhere on the list thinking about jimmy yeah jimmy's a badass
21:23it's hard but he's like so hurt right now but yeah yeah like i mean we can we could extend

21:33court like i'm so confident in who i am and my ability like i'm i'm gonna call i'm gonna be
