00:00I'm going to watch everything tonight, you're going to watch everything tonight, but where's
00:04your head?
00:06Where's my head?
00:08Yeah, what are you excited about tonight?
00:10I'm excited about the Warriors and...
00:12Really?
00:13Yeah, I'm excited about the Warriors because I'm wondering about not only the rotation
00:18and Pat Spencer's out, personal reasons, I get it, Al Horford out, sciatica, no shock,
00:24so it's not as much about Warriors survival, or survivor rather, as it is, how are you
00:30going to use Kaminga?
00:32Kaminga's back in the rotation, what does that mean?
00:35Does he get a five-minute looky-loo early, and then if it doesn't go great, he's back
00:40on ice?
00:41Or are you going to try to really bring him back and let him play some actual basketball?
00:48And beyond that, the other intrigue for me, there's a number of different things.
00:51One, Jimmy Butler, are you interested in actually playing basketball in December?
00:57Because he's looked a little bit like he's been in second gear, third gear, kind of coasting
01:03a little bit, he's not been that impactful.
01:06Draymond Green, can you stop turning it over?
01:09And then beyond that, yes, all the other ancillary pieces, who plays, who doesn't play, whatever,
01:14but this is not a must-win, but it's starting to feel a little bit like, okay, Warriors, if
01:21you want us to take you as a real thing, you've got to go out and start winning some
01:26of these games.
01:27Sure.
01:28I mean...
01:28That's where my head's at.
01:29Yeah, I get all those things.
01:30I'm way, way, way more excited to see the Seahawks beat the Rams.
01:35I'm way, way, like, if you want to, like, the intensity of tonight, to me, like, maybe
01:41the soap opera intrigue, sure, that's the Warriors.
01:45That's, like, that's what we do, you know what I mean?
01:49And sure, Jonathan will be back in there, everybody can get out, you know, whatever,
01:54wrap your arm up, take a big shot at Kaminga, if you want, like, here we are again.
01:59I don't know why that's, why is that different than what we've seen before?
02:04Do you know what I mean?
02:05Like, I get...
02:06It's just different because now he's back.
02:08He's back.
02:09He's back.
02:10He never went anywhere.
02:11Well, he went to the DNP list.
02:12He just went to the bench.
02:14Right, that's what's intriguing, and now he's back?
02:16Yeah, we've watched him be back before.
02:19He'll go out there, he'll play basketball, I hope he looks really good, and it's a Thursday
02:26in December.
02:27Right, but he either looks good, they win, he looks good, they lose, he looks bad, they
02:32win, he looks bad, they lose.
02:33Sure.
02:34Like...
02:35And then we rinse, repeat, and try again on Saturday.
02:37But that's, or maybe we don't.
02:38Maybe he looks bad, they lose, and he's back on the DNP list.
02:41Listen, again, my...
02:42I get it, I get what you're saying.
02:43Yeah, my point is, is like, we're going to go to bed tonight, and one of these results
02:48has an actual POW stamp on what is going on playoff-wise for one of these teams.
02:57And it is the Seahawks-Rams game.
02:59Absolutely.
03:00In Seattle, Thursday night football, stand alone, boom.
03:04Like, put it this way, I understand everything you're saying.
03:07And you and I would qualify as addicts, I guess, if you will, when it comes to Bay Area sports.
03:14There's not a damn thing ever that we don't watch.
03:17There's not a damn thing ever that we're not excited about.
03:20Like, yes, really.
03:21Honestly.
03:22When it is a Tuesday in November, and they're in New Orleans, I'm like, it is one of the first
03:28ten thoughts that goes through my head when I get up in the morning and start planning
03:32the day.
03:34Because the dad in me, that's how I operate.
03:37I got, okay, who needs to be where?
03:40What are we cooking tonight?
03:42And what are we doing?
03:44You know, we've got to figure out the show, and then when we get back, what's going on?
03:49How many people are going to be there eating?
03:51What are we eating?
03:52And how can we incorporate that into whether or not there's a game that we all want to watch?
03:58Like, that's how my brain works.
04:01And so, sure.
04:04And you know, my best friend is the voice of the Suns.
04:07I can't wait to see him tomorrow.
04:08You love John Bloom.
04:10And so, like, when the Warriors play the Suns, it's a big deal.
04:13The trash-talking techs have already started.
04:15And so that's great.
04:17That's all great.
04:18But come on, people.
04:20Come on.
04:21Come on.
04:21Where is your Niner fever?
04:25Where is it?
04:26This is massive tonight.
04:28It could be.
04:28You could go out to Indy and lose on Monday, and then it's not so massive.
04:32Well, sure.
04:33But all we can do each day is set up the next.
04:36Right.
04:36I mean, that's how we root.
04:38That's how you root it for your fantasy team.
04:40All you want to do is set up the next week.
04:42Well, there is no next week.
04:43I know, because you lost.
04:44Apollo Creed.
04:45There is no tomorrow.
04:46But those who won did not win a damn thing.
04:48All they won was another shot.
04:50Right.
04:50Another shot.
04:51Next week, the 49ers can both clinch the playoffs and be two games away from the one seed in the NFC if the Seahawks win this football game tonight.
05:01And it is massive.
05:03So, I mean, we could just, like, we could play with this a little bit and have some fun.
05:06Oh, yeah.
05:07If you all want to, like, which is floating your boat a little bit more tonight?
05:11Sure.
05:11I'm not saying it's not Stiney who's only going to apparently got one TV.
05:15Like, I'm sure you can follow both, you can toggle, you can grab another TV, you can put eight TVs in your bedroom like Guru does, whatever.
05:23This guy is such a D.
05:25888-957-9570.
05:27What has your full sports focused today as far as 5.30, 6 o'clock tonight?
05:35Which one is, like, making your heart thump a little bit?
05:40They're both big?
05:41Yeah.
05:41I get the drama arounding both, but if you ask me, like, maybe here's another way to ask it.
05:49Only one of them is going to go right.
05:51Which do you pick?
05:52The Warriors.
05:54Really?
05:54The Niners still have to, like, handle their own.
05:57On a Thursday in December?
06:00Yes.
06:00This game is more about than, it's more about just 1-82.
06:05This one is seminal for a number of different reasons.
06:08They need to start looking right.
06:10They need to start playing right.
06:12This game's important for the Golden State Warriors.
06:14I get that.
06:15And I understand that, so Seattle beats the Rams, and then you lose to Indy.
06:19Well, it turned out it wasn't that much of a big game because you lost to Indy.
06:23But it created an opportunity.
06:24If the Warriors, I could do that exact same thing with the Warriors.
06:27If they lose this game tonight and then win the next five in a row, nobody gives a rip.
06:30But if they lose tonight and Kaminga plays poorly, then that might be, you know, more DNPs for Kaminga.
06:38I don't know.
06:38For me, on a normal, you never know.
06:41I don't know.
06:42He got a DNP.
06:43Last time he played, he played two minutes in the fourth quarter, and then he didn't play for three straight games.
06:47And he was healthy.
06:48But that wasn't based on that one performance.
06:51It might have been based on his behavior on the bench.
06:55Yeah, we don't know.
06:55But he had played very, very poorly for a very lengthy stretch, quite frankly.
07:00A significant stretch, certainly ever since injury.
07:04He has not really had any good games since then.
07:05Well, you've had other players play poorly.
07:07No doubt.
07:07And like Draymond Green's coming off a game where he was poor.
07:10Right.
07:11I might put it this way.
07:12I don't think Steve Kerr is in the business of punishing people for one performance.
07:19For one performance.
07:20Do you know what I mean?
07:21I'll agree with that, yeah.
07:21If he's going to put him back in the rotation, you better give him more than 22 minutes one time.
07:28I would rip the hell out of that if the Warriors then re-bench Jonathan on Saturday.
07:35That's ridiculous.
07:36It depends on how he plays and what he does.
07:39I mean, if he plays lethargically and shows a certain amount of disinterest in doing certain things, then yeah.
07:46It's warranted.
07:46But if he goes out and tries to play and doesn't play well, I'm just more intrigued by tonight's Warriors game because of where we are and the fact that they haven't played in a long time.
07:57Interesting.
07:57You know, they had this tough schedule early and, oh, it's the schedule.
08:01Man, I've never seen a schedule like this.
08:03And then ever since then, they've been patently kind of bad.
08:07And now you have a chance against Phoenix, who is better than we thought.
08:10It's a team that you might be competing with for a spot in the top six.
08:15And, you know, Phoenix is more spirited.
08:17And they've got Dylan the villain, who you love, Dylan Brooks.
08:20And so there's a number of things about tonight's game that spice it up a little bit.
08:25I'm definitely not trying to, and I can't, and I won't.
08:28No, no, I know.
08:28I'm not trying to devalue anything.
08:30And I'm not trying to devalue the football game because football is always king.
08:33And it's, I mean, the only bummer is the old guy coming out again is if I want to watch
08:38it on TV, so I'm watching it on Amazon.
08:41You've got to get a second screen.
08:42I have it.
08:43I have my computer.
08:44So you're good.
08:44And I'll do that.
08:45But I don't want to have to do that.
08:47I want to have the ability, and maybe it's an invention that I need to come up with where,
08:51and I guess it would have to go through Xfinity or whatever, where you can toggle between
08:55an app and their platform.
08:58Right.
08:59Because I'm an Xfinity customer, and I have been forever, and I love it.
09:02Your smart TV is not smart enough.
09:04My smart TV is very smart.
09:05Yeah, I know.
09:05But when I go from Xfinity, I have to speak into it, Amazon, and then it pops Amazon, and
09:13I click, boom, and then now I wait for it to load.
09:15Yeah, how long does it take you?
09:17That right there is about 20 seconds.
09:18No, I mean the whole process.
09:20To get from the football game to the basketball game and then back.
09:23Well, to go from the football game to the basketball game, that's quick.
09:27It's just a couple of exits, and it goes right back to Xfinity.
09:29Got it.
09:30But to go the other way, that's a solid minute.
09:33Oh.
09:33Because you have to, bloop, Amazon.
09:35In 2025, a minute is like.
09:36And then you wait, and then Amazon pops up, and then you go down, and you select the game,
09:41bloop, and then the game, do you want to watch the main broadcast?
09:44Do you want to do the catch-up, the recap?
09:46Do your TV make those noises like that?
09:49Yeah, my remote.
09:49Oh.
09:50Xfinity.
09:51Okay.
09:51You don't have Xfinity.
09:52I don't have Xfinity.
09:53Yeah.
09:54What's up, Granny?
09:54You want to say something?
09:55Well, I was just going to say, obviously this is a huge football game, and Niner fans should
09:59be rooting for the Seahawks, because you want the one seed, you want the division, and you
10:02want the bye, and you want home field.
10:05Seattle losing, though, isn't bad either, because it increases the odds of being the five seed,
10:10and the five seed takes on the AFC South winner in the first round, which is the first
10:14round matchup you would want.
10:15Like, I would have to look this up.
10:19Does it really?
10:20Like, if Seattle loses tonight, but then the Niners lose to Seattle, don't they finish
10:24behind them anyway?
10:25So you've got to beat them either way.
10:28It increases the likelihood of you being the five, or at least surpassing Seattle in the
10:33standings.
10:33Another Seattle loss.
10:34To me, that's not enough of a consolation prize for me.
10:39Here's what I would say.
10:40I get it.
10:41The Warriors are our team.
10:43The Seahawks are not.
10:44So, like, the rooting interest tonight, we watch our teams.
10:49Rooting for someone because it affects your team is not the same experience.
10:54So if you're, I'm not, like, down on the idea of if you're more topped into the Warriors
10:58tonight, it's the freaking Warriors.
11:00The Niners don't play tonight.
11:01But, which one is a bigger deal in the landscape of what we're all doing here?
11:06I don't even think it's close.
11:08This is a massive football game for the 49ers tonight.
11:11Potentially.
11:12The Warriors one is interesting because of all that we've been going through and talking
11:18about.
11:19But this is not a landmark game with regard to the standings at the end of the year.
11:23I don't think.
11:24I mean, it might be a tipping point.
11:26Phoenix is right ahead of you in the standings.
11:27Yeah.
11:27I know.
11:28And you play them again in 48 hours.
11:30So you can just play ping pong.
11:32If you lose, then you just win and go right back to where you were.
11:35Right.
11:35Right back to a game below 500.
11:37But I mean, I get it over 47 and a half is a slam dunk.
11:40It's easy money.
11:41So you're not going to let that one go.
11:43Why would I?
11:44You shouldn't.
11:45And I won't.
11:46OK.
11:47And I shan't.
11:49And if I'm wrong, then tip of the cap to Mark Grandy, who said that it was free money.
11:54They're giving it away.
11:56It might be free money.
11:57It's definitely, as defined now, not easy money.
12:00Nervous?
12:01It's not easy.
12:01It might be free money for Vegas.
12:03We'll find out.
12:03Yeah, exactly.
12:04He's not wrong.
12:05It was free money for someone.
12:06Right.
12:07Well, it's not free money for him because he had to pay the juice.
12:10You can just get the money back by fading you.
12:13It's not that hard.
12:14Go ahead.
12:15Fade me.
12:15Fade away.
12:16Don't let me get hot again.
12:18We won't.
12:18Have you won two in a row?
12:19Yeah.
12:20Two in a row.
12:20All right.
12:21Philmo Mike's on the line.
12:22I think so.
12:23Two in a row, yeah.
12:24He's royalty.
12:24Yeah.
12:24You hit both over the weekend.
12:26Mm-hmm.
12:26Yeah.
12:27You hit the Niner game and you hit the Vikings.
12:29And I've got tonight.
12:29Tonight's easy.
12:31Ooh.
12:32Tonight is.
12:33I don't.
12:33You lost Monday.
12:34You lost your last pick.
12:34Yeah.
12:35You lost Monday night.
12:35You picked Miami.
12:36Oh, yeah.
12:36That's right.
12:36That's right.
12:37That's right.
12:37You lost Miami.
12:38I flipped the pick.
12:38Not even close in that one.
12:40Yeah.
12:40I forgot about Monday.
12:41Easy to forget.
12:43It was an embarrassingly terrible pick.
12:44That was a big old rotten egg stinker.
12:46It's hard when I just.
12:46I wasn't here for that one.
12:47I would have faded.
12:48Yeah.
12:48You would have.
12:49Easy to say now.
12:51Yep.
12:52Corvette got benched out of that game.
12:56Career ender.
12:58Totally right.
13:00Seriously.
13:01All right.
13:02Philmo Mike.
13:03Philmo.
13:04What are you doing?
13:06I'm trying to figure something out.
13:09So I'm trying to figure out.
13:11How the hell are we supposed to have 49er fever and mania when y'all going through freaking
13:16Dear Abby letters about the Warriors before Christmas?
13:20We don't really care about the Warriors right now.
13:22I'm mad.
13:23I'm frustrated.
13:24But you can't teach Steve Kerr old ass new tricks.
13:29He's going to do what he do.
13:30He's going to do what he did to get what he's been doing to become have nine, ten championships.
13:35So I'm so happy TJ Huston's Island.
13:39Susan Huston is calling whatever Chris Burmey say.
13:41Teach me.
13:42Who's your mama?
13:43Yeah.
13:43He's going to come on and all that good stuff.
13:46Because I'm sick of hearing about these average ass Warriors.
13:50They're not going nowhere.
13:51Steve Kerr is doing the same thing he's been doing.
13:56I love Steve Kerr.
13:57But he's not going to change.
13:59He's going to play the players that he quote unquote trust.
14:02And Kaminga can't do nothing right.
14:03Kaminga could play well.
14:04They lose.
14:05Kaminga's fault.
14:06Kaminga could get eight rebounds.
14:09Three points.
14:09Have a nice floor game.
14:11Play like Dreamer on Green.
14:12And he'll see it the next game.
14:13So it's no rhythm or rhyme or madness to this.
14:17For whatever reason, Jonathan Kaminga, Steve Kerr, and the Warriors, they're not aligned.
14:23They have to get in alignment.
14:24I don't see it happening.
14:26And I hate to say, I never say this.
14:29Even when Latrose, we will choke TJ Kalismo, trade the player.
14:33He needs a new start.
14:34I never say that.
14:35But this is the first time, I swear to God, that I can see they probably need a new start.
14:40Steve Kerr needs a new start.
14:42Jonathan Kaminga needs a new start.
14:43Because every time we look at it from our perspective, a lot of the fans, we're like,
14:49man, well, Kaminga gets, he kind of gets like play like, it's like, he's not the teacher's pet,
14:55obviously, or the teacher's favorite, obviously.
14:57Because when this person does that, they get more time.
15:01When Kaminga does that, he gets no time or he gets punished.
15:05So I'm sick of talking about it.
15:08But I hope the Seahawks win tonight.
15:10Bang, bang, Niner Gang.
15:12And shout out to Dear Abby.
15:15Shout out to Dear Abby.
15:16That's a great call, Philbo.
15:18I get it.
15:19I get it.
15:19But by the way, we know Philmo and Philmo gets it too.
15:22You can be sick of it.
15:24But the bottom line is, it's here.
15:28It is a story.
15:29People are emotionally attached to it.
15:32They're interested in it to the level where you seem to be elevating tonight's game as to be maybe a little bit bigger or different than other regular season December games.
15:42I don't fight with you on that.
15:44I agree with you on that.
15:46But, you know, I see almost exactly what Philmo sees the same way.
15:53There's one thing there at the end, and it's the definition of the word that.
15:57And I kind of tried to do this with Guru yesterday, and it's probably the core of why some of our listeners and Warrior fans,
16:04and I see this a little bit differently, when he says, when we see Kaminga do that and he gets benched,
16:09and we see other players do that and they don't get benched, let's define that.
16:14I bet, just my guess, disagree with him if you want, I think Steve and the coaching staff would say we're not talking about the same thing.
16:24If that is just defined as poor play, like you didn't play well that night.
16:29Right, right.
16:30If that's the definition of that, then you're right.
16:34Steve Kerr and the coaching staff are out of line, because that's not the way you treat a player.
16:39Go out there, struggle a little bit, bench for two weeks.
16:45That's incorrect.
16:46But it's not just, that is not defined by playing poorly.
16:52That is defined by decision-making and style of play.
16:57And the example I keep using is the article that was written last year of, in Portland,
17:03Jonathan looked off and opened Steph Curry, didn't throw him the ball, and decided to drive to the hole.
17:10Not my words, that's the reporting of the beat writers.
17:14And it ticked the Warriors off, and that is a snapshot of the Discord, of the way they want to play.
17:21It's not about playing poorly.
17:23Right.
17:23The way they want to play.
17:25If it was about playing poorly, then Buddy Heald probably would have been benched a little bit.
17:29Everybody.
17:30Shooting 31%.
17:31Bench them all.
17:32Right.
17:32Except Steph, because he hasn't really played poorly.
17:35But it's not only about that.
17:37It's about effort and energy and all the rest of it.
17:40And so, yeah, it's playing the right way, and it's playing with energy and effort.
17:43And that's why I'm really fascinated about tonight's game, because Kaminga's getting another chance.
17:48And I'm sure that they've had conversations, and Steve actually told us as much, that they've talked about it.
17:54And so, Kaminga goes into tonight's game, whenever he goes in, knowing exactly what they want him to do and how they want him to play.
18:01So, he'll either try like heck to do that, or he'll go about playing the way that he wants to play, that is outside the structure of the team.
18:10That, to me, is a fascinating thing, as we get another day closer to J.K. Day, four weeks from today, they can trade him four weeks from today.
18:20Thursday, January 15th.
18:22So, between now and then, he's either going to play or not play.
18:26He'll play well or not play well.
18:28They'll keep him or not keep him.
18:30So, all these Warrior games between now and then, for me, become much more interesting based on that one thing.
18:36I got a sneaky suspicion you're going to get a really, really good Warrior effort tonight.
18:41You better.
18:41Yeah.
18:42No, I don't just mean effort.
18:44I also mean output.
18:45Like, I think the Warriors are going to win tonight.
18:47I think that they're going to shift the conversation.
18:51The Warriors have very big ears, and they've had a lot of days off.
18:56And they listen to all of this crap.
18:59Do you know what the spread is?
19:01No, I don't.
19:02Take a guess.
19:03Let's see.
19:06The Suns are at home.
19:1014-12 Phoenix hosting, 13-14 Golden State as we go around the association.
19:15Yeah, the Suns have also lost three of four.
19:17They've lost five of seven.
19:22I'll give you plus or minus a point.
19:26I bet the Warriors are about a two-point favorite.
19:28Yeah, Grandy.
19:32Two and a half.
19:33Yeah.
19:34I got it at two and a half.
19:35Yeah.
19:35Total music.
19:36There you go.
19:36You looked it up.
19:37No, I didn't.
19:38All of that cogitating, and you came up with Phoenix's recent results.
19:42Yes, that's it.
19:43Just the same.
19:43Look.
19:44Look at my computer.
19:45Somebody call Atko Pest Control.
19:47I have the Sun schedule.
19:47I smell a rat.
19:48I have the Sun schedule.
19:49You easily could have gone back or forward.
19:52Go ahead.
19:52Come hit the back button.
19:53I'm not hitting your back button.
19:55Look, we'll hit the back button.
19:56You're looking real good once you hit that back button.
19:57I'm going to back that thing up.
19:59Look, a back button.
20:00Now it's the Sun's page.
20:01What is going on here?
20:02I hit the back button again.
20:03Now we're at the NBA standing.
20:04There's something rotten in Denmark is what's going on.
20:07Are you on ESPN?
20:08ESPN.com.
20:09ESPN has odds plastered everywhere.
20:11No, but I wasn't on.
20:12That's on the score page.
20:12It's fine.
20:13Congratulations.
20:14You got it right.
20:14They do not have odds on their schedule.
20:16I was on the Sun's schedule.
20:20Grandy.
20:20Shut up.
20:21I'm like Goober right now.
20:22He's such a good cheater that he didn't want to get it bang on the number, so two.
20:26Two.
20:27I'm going to go with two.
20:29Rationale, rationale, rationale, rationale.
20:31I'll be a half point off just to let the people know.
20:33Look, I'm sorry that y'all can't handle my rightness.
20:37Sorry.
20:38I'm sorry that you can't handle my rightness.
20:41What's that smell?
20:43I smell a rat.
20:45Sweet.
20:46Let's go to Jay in Fremont.
20:47Please.
20:48Hi, Jay.
20:49What are you doing?
20:50How you guys doing?
20:51What's up?
20:51How are you guys doing?
20:52Yeah, ma'am.
20:53I wanted to talk about what's the must-see TV tonight.
20:57It's got to be the Warriors.
20:59I mean, it's got to be the Warriors.
21:00And here's my take on it.
21:02There's so much coming to a head right now with the Warriors in general.
21:06Kaminga's trade.
21:07Steve Kerr's tenure is coming to an end.
21:09You know, we just don't know what's going to happen.
21:11This dynasty is coming to an end.
21:13And the thing is, you think about the West Coast, right?
21:15You think about the Western Conference.
21:16Every game, every night means something, in my opinion, because four months to five months
21:21down the road, when we're in playoff playing mode, it's going to be a tight race.
21:26And I think all these teams know that.
21:27I mean, these games in December do matter.
21:29And the stories surrounding the Warriors right now are pretty crazy.
21:33I mean, there's just a lot in flux.
21:36That said, I mean, I think that, you know, the Seahawks game is important, but I think
21:41the Warriors game is must-see TV, baby.
21:43Steph's playing, too.
21:44So that's always must-see TV.
21:45Thanks, fellas.
21:46Okay, Jay, thanks very much.
21:48Sure.
21:48Steph on TV, that's a thing.
21:51I get that.
21:53Whichever team you're more of a fan of, maybe that factors into this a little bit.
21:58Jay said something, though, and I wonder if it caught everyone's ear.
22:01He's, you know, this dynasty is coming to an end.
22:03Do you know that the rest of the league is like, that happened three years ago?
22:07Yeah, sure.
22:07Sure.
22:08I mean, you tell me where this is going, and then when you look back on it, when did
22:13the dynasty end?
22:14Right.
22:14So if they win it this year, is the dynasty over?
22:18No.
22:18Right.
22:18But you already said, you said four minutes ago, you don't think there's any chance they
22:22win it this year?
22:23No.
22:23Of course not.
22:24Right.
22:24So it ended three years ago.
22:26Well, and you can even say that the title that they won four years ago wasn't even really
22:30a part of the dynasty.
22:32You can make that case.
22:33And the whole idea of a dynasty, like the Dodgers have a dynasty right now, and that's something
22:38you can't dispute.
22:39Yeah, you can.
22:40Dynasty is usually three.
22:41And they've got three.
22:42Mm-hmm.
22:42Mm-hmm.
22:43Mm-hmm.
22:43Mm-hmm.
