00:00A Negeri Semilan ex-co member has rejected DAP Secretary General Lok Siu Fook's call
00:06for members to resign if they no longer recognise Tuan Kumukhris Tuan Kumunawir as the state's ruler.
00:13State Youth and Sports Executive Councillor Mustafa Nagur told FMT that Lok should not
00:19interfere in the state's royal and customary dispute. The UMNO Assemblyman for Palong
00:24questioned Lok's authority to call for the resignations, telling him to not interfere
00:30and sit quietly. Lok had earlier urged the ex-co members to step down if they no longer
00:36recognised Tuan Kumukhris as Yang Dipertuan Besa, noting that they took their oaths before him
00:42in early August. The state ex-co on September 16 declared Tuan Kumukhris' removal in April
00:49legitimate and recognised Tuan Ku Nadzaruddin Tuan Ku Ja'fa as the new ruler.
00:54Menteri Besa Ismail Lassim has since endorsed the statement, saying the ex-co reached the
01:00decision unanimously on September 15. Ismail also said the state secretary had been instructed
01:06to proceed with gazetting the proclamation according to the relevant regulations. However,
01:13the Negeri Semilan Dewang Keadilan dan Undang said the ex-co's decision had no legal effect
01:18and maintained that Tuan Kumukhris remained the legitimate Yang Dipertuan Besa.
