00:00A prosecution witness in Muhyiddin Yassin's corruption trial has apologised in the High Court
00:05to the former Prime Minister's lawyer, Amir Hamza Arshad, over a police report lodged against him.
00:12Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission officer Mazari Zaini said he asked another officer to
00:17lodge the report after Amir produced a transcript of a recorded conversation
00:21involving former Segambut Bersatu Deputy Chief Adam Radlan Adam Mohamad.
00:26Mazari claimed the transcript was classified and said the report was lodged over concerns
00:31that it may have been leaked by MACC officers.
00:34He told the court he had not intended to tarnish the defence team's image
00:38and was only trying to protect the commission.
00:41Amir, however, argued that the report was an attempt to tarnish his reputation
00:45and amounted to intimidation.
00:48He also accused Mazari of misleading the public and authorities
00:51and did not rule out taking legal action over the report.
00:55Amir maintained that the defence obtained the document from Adam Radlan's legal team
00:59through proper channels.
01:01Deputy Public Prosecutor Wan-Shaharuddin Wan-Ladin said
01:05the report would be retracted later today after the court heard explanations from both parties.
