00:00Penang Pakatan Harapan Chairman Chao Konyao has brushed off DAP advisor Lim Guan Eng's renewed call to remove UMNO from
00:08the state government.
00:10According to Berita Harian, Chao said former Penang Chief Minister Lim's statement was not the party's stand and that Penang
00:18PH would stick to its previous decision for now.
00:21Chao added that Penang PH had received no directive from the central leadership and should await a PH Presidential Council
00:30decision.
00:31He urged party leaders to avoid causing confusion and let the PH Presidential Council discuss deteriorating ties with Barisan Nasional.
00:42Yesterday, Lim dared UMNO President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to challenge Penang PH to expel UMNO's sole representative from the state
00:51government.
00:52Lim also criticized the state PH leadership's hesitancy and indecision, warning BN against taking advantage of it.
01:02He was responding to Zahid's recent claim that UMNO could do better than Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in governing the
01:10country.
01:12Zahid also challenged Anwar to remove BN from the unity government and take on a vote of confidence in the
01:19Dewan Rakyat.
01:21Last month, Penang PH decided to maintain cooperation with BN despite its alliance with Perikatan Nasional in the Negeri Sembilan
01:30election.
