00:13members had taken their oaths of office before Tuan Kumukhris in early August and said they should

00:19step down if they no longer recognized him as ruler. He also urged the EXCO members to understand

00:26the legal basis of their authority before making statements on the position of the state's ruler.

00:32The Negeri Sembilan EXCO on Wednesday declared Tuan Kumukhris' removal in April legitimate

00:38and recognized Tuan Ku Nadzaruddin Tuan Ku Ja'afar as the new ruler. Menteri Besar Ismail Lassim has

00:45endorsed the statement saying the decision was unanimous and that the state secretary had been

00:51instructed to gazette the proclamation. However, the Negeri Sembilan Dewan Keadilan Dana Undang

00:57rejected the EXCO's decision as having no legal effect and maintained that Tuan Kumukhris remains

01:03the Yang Di-Pertuan Besar. Lok questioned the EXCO's authority to affirm the April 19 proclamation,

01:11saying it could not override the state constitution or the DKU's resolutions. He said the EXCO's

01:19announcement had caused confusion, undermined discipline in the state administration,
