00:00First and second divisions of the Fire Service Associations have submitted a joint revised
00:05counter-proposal as negotiations with the Chief Personnel Officer continue.
00:10Among the proposals are enhanced compensation for specialized duties and additional responsibilities,
00:16including driving proficiencies, hazardous body recovery, fire inspection and investigation,
00:23and instructional duties. The associations are also proposing an on-call allowance for officers
00:30required to remain available outside normal working hours, including those attached to
00:36engineering, fire prevention and training sections. The counter-proposal also addresses
00:41medical benefits, hours of work, overtime and welfare provisions. The associations are seeking
00:47reforms to pension and national insurance provisions affecting both serving and retired
00:52officers. A displacement allowance has also been proposed for officers assigned to the
00:58former Petrotrin stations.
