00:00Uh, so Keegan, here we are a whole number one around to make it's a par 70 golf course.
00:05I just went through the place.
00:06You just recently went on a trip with JT.
00:09Talk to us about this golf course.
00:11Yeah.
00:12So I just was here.
00:13It's an incredible shape, a stunning, actually considering what time of year it is.
00:17This is a par four, um, depending on the width.
00:20Actually, the course was really firm when I played a couple of days ago, but these bunkers
00:24on the right word in play for me when I play.
00:26So you just, you just rip driver up at these right bunkers and you have a wedge in, um,
00:30and then the green, just like most of the holes in aeronomic, the, the green is where it gets
00:36tricky.
00:36This green is really slopey back, uh, back to front and, and, and you could get one to spin.
00:41It's going to come all the way down off this fairway.
00:44Um, what I find in aeronomic is these back pins are really tough because you got to get
00:50it back there because of the slope, but the law, there's a lot of like where you just go
00:54over on the floor.
00:55So you can see that there's a little runoff over the green.
00:57Yeah.
00:57It's definitely a theme that I picked up on this golf course.
01:00Gil Hans, of course, was part of this restoration project.
01:03Um, and as we head to the second hole, uh, it's a dogleg par four, 413 yard hole.
01:10And one of the things that I've noticed about this course is that it's not particularly long.
01:14It feels like to me, you know, there's a lot of par fours in that, that 420 to 460 yard
01:20range where you're kind of given options off the tee.
01:23Yeah.
01:24The opening holes are really short here.
01:26So these bunkers on the left aren't really in play to pent wind dependent.
01:29Um, you know, I think you're going to see guys that are going to get up near close to
01:34this screen.
01:35I, it was a little into the window we played and we, and we hit it past this bunker.
01:39I had, you know, 85 yards in, but like these bunkers aren't going to be in play for Rory
01:43or some of the longer guys, and they're going to be able to just whack it up here.
01:46But again, the green gets really, the green gets really tricky and get, there's a, these
01:51pins in the right, there's a, there's a back to front there.
01:54And then again, over this green is a big runoff onto this other tee and you're, you're just
02:00shipping it on the green from there.
02:01You're not getting it up and down.
02:02How much does it help like seeing that the runoffs of what you're going to be facing
02:06for a couple of weeks to where you can now kind of go work on these shots over the next
02:10couple of weeks of these signature events?
02:13Definitely.
02:14It's, it's great because, you know, you know what you're going to get, but also you could
02:18putt a lot of these.
02:19So like, I think you'd practice a lot of up and overs from the fairway.
02:23Um, but you know, it's, it's the, these opening holes that are on it are, are really
02:28gettable.
02:28So, you know, you're going to want to go out and get these holes.
02:31I could see guys laying back here, this front right pin over this bunker.
02:35I don't think you get driver cause you can get too close.
02:38It all depends on how firm the greens are.
02:40When I played there, when I won there in 2018, it was like crazy wet.
02:45So like none of these shots were, were, were that similar, but, um, you know, these, these
02:50holes that you really got to take, you're going to have to take advantage of early on.
02:53Yeah.
02:54It might be a different type of spin control depending on what the weather will be at the
02:57PGA championship, whether it's adding a bunch of spin.
02:59It sounds like the BMW 2018, it was, it was about keeping spin off of the golf ball.
03:04So hope we're hoping for a fast test.
