00:21Najib's pardon application had previously been expected to be among the matters considered at today's FTPB meeting.
00:30Najib was convicted six years ago of misappropriating 42 million ringgit in SRC International funds and received 12 years jail
00:39and a 210 million ringgit fine.
00:42The FTPB later reduced his prison term to six years and his fine to 50 million ringgit.
00:49He has been serving his sentence at Kajang Prison since August 2022.
00:54In December 2025, Najib was convicted of abuse of power and money laundering involving more than 2 billion ringgit linked
01:02to 1MDB.
01:03He received 15 years jail and fined 11.38 billion ringgit.
01:09He is appealing the conviction.
01:11Meanwhile, UMNO President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the party was saddened by the Pardons Board's decision but respected it.

01:26outcome for Najib.
