00:00Well, a truly extraordinary election in Sweden. All the way through, you saw the left-wing
00:05opposition leading in the polls. You saw that lead narrow in terms of the right-wing governing
00:10coalition who have driven down violent crime, had some major successes. They sort of recovered
00:17in the run-up to polling day. And then the exit poll broke. I reported at last night,
00:24there was some different research on it, basically showing that it was close, far closer than many
00:29thought it would be, but that the left-wing opposition alliance probably had the numbers.
00:36What then occurred was the counting of the votes. And we saw something incredible. I mean,
00:41exit polls are usually pretty spot on. This one, it seems, may have been out a little bit because
00:48when the counting was being done last night, you can see how close this became. At one point,
00:52the left-wing coalition had just a one seat, a single seat advantage. Now, later on, with 94%
01:01of votes counted, you can see that extended ever so slightly to the left-wing alliance having a
01:08three-seat advantage, but still very, very close, you can see there. And in terms of what you can see
01:15here in terms of the votes being counted, the exit polls all showed the three biggest parties,
01:20the Social Democrats, the Moderates, the Conservatives, and the Sweden Democrats all losing support. In
01:25actual fact, it seems that the Moderates, the Conservatives may actually pick up some support
01:30and pick up some seats as well. But look, what does it mean? Well, it means that as things stand,
01:39it's looking likely that the left-wing opposition will still win. However, this is slightly less
01:47certain. You can see there, Monday morning, we're talking about 0.4% of votes here, folks. This is
01:53how close this is. And you've also got a dilemma on the left as to how exactly an alliance with
02:00this
02:00sort of wafer-thin majority would actually work. And it may actually come down in the end,
02:07in terms of confirming this result one way or another, to ex-pat ballots. It is an extraordinary
