00:00Terry McLaurin spoke yesterday at length and he talked about the ball
00:04security,
00:05which I mentioned.
00:05Yeah.
00:06He also said,
00:07everybody needs to be ready to play because we know Jaden's going to
00:10spread it around.
00:11Yeah.
00:11And I think there is this incredibly,
00:14I almost want to stop this before it like becomes a thing.
00:18Cause I just think it's a wildly false and stupid premise that like,
00:23if Diggs leads this team in receiving on Sunday or Chig or Antonio
00:28Williams or Rashad white,
00:30whoever it is that like Terry would be upset.
00:33Terry will be upset if they lose.
00:36Yeah.
00:36If they win,
00:37nobody's going to care.
00:38That is the thing with like people,
00:40they don't understand when you are the better receiver of a team and you've been
00:45doing something for a certain amount of time,
00:47teams come in and try to take you out the game.
00:51And they were able to try and they were trying to do that over the years when
00:55they,
00:55Terry didn't have a guy that was riding with him and he still,
00:58I was doing stuff and the other person wouldn't do it as much.
01:02Now you have two guys that can do that.
01:05So that third,
01:06fourth,
01:06fifth guy,
01:07they need to be ready to go.
01:09He's absolutely right in that.
01:11But people that just want to,
01:13Oh,
01:13he's going to be mad.
01:14That's people looking for clicks,
01:16bro.
01:16And people have to be able to decipher real stuff from straight BS.
01:22Because most things you hear this day and age is about BS from all types of
01:27people.
01:27Terry also said,
01:29he said something at the end of his presser and Stan,
01:31I put his full presser on YouTube.
01:33If you want to try to track it down.
01:34And he said something that I found really interesting about the practice in
01:39Baltimore,
01:40how,
01:41and I don't want to like overstate it,
01:43but like I think the offense recognized the struggles they had in that
01:48practice in Baltimore.
01:49I also don't know how reflective that's going to be on Sunday because you didn't
01:52have Cosme or Alec ready.
01:53I think it's going to look very different,
01:56but he said,
01:57after that practice,
01:58they all realized.
01:59So I asked him to like make clarify as he was walking in for me,
02:03just so I really understood what he was saying.
02:05And what he said to me is,
02:07and I'm going to edit this because this was off camera.
02:10So he gave me a much more strongly worded answer.
02:14As a team,
02:16they realized they can't dip their toe in the pool.
02:20They got to be all the way bleeping in.
02:23If you're going to go to Philly week one and win a game.
02:26Yep.
02:26And Brian,
02:27I've been in a lot of locker rooms.
02:28You've been in more than me,
02:30but you feel the energy.
02:32You feel the rambunctiousness,
02:35kind of the,
02:36the feeling of guys getting ready for their first real game.
02:39And it does create like this tangible buzz in there.
02:44Yeah.
02:44You know what I mean?
02:44Like totally.
02:46And I've been in locker rooms where it's flat,
02:48where they just have another game to play.
02:51I don't know what's going to happen Sunday in Philadelphia.
02:54Nobody does.
02:55Not long.
02:55I think the energy is where it needs to be.
02:57And that was a big question.
02:58I had for Quinn,
03:00maybe coming off the Labor Day break.
03:02Like,
03:02dude,
03:03nobody played in the preseason.
03:04You guys have had three practices in eight days.
03:06How ready is this team?
03:08And,
03:08and Quinn said,
03:09you know,
03:10we,
03:10we track certain things.
03:12We feel like they're ready.
03:13And those are,
03:14there's some of it's quantifiable.
03:16Yeah.
03:16They track the speed.
03:17They track,
03:18you know,
03:19the routing.
03:20Like they're tracking all that.
03:21There's real metrics you can measure,
03:23but there's something you cannot measure that.
03:26I don't know,
03:27but I,
03:28I feel like it's tracking the right way.
03:30Yeah.
03:30And the thing about it,
03:31like you always say about the prom and all that type of stuff.
03:34If you're not,
03:35you're looking the best on that day,
03:37then you're just not that good looking.
03:39If you're not ready to go on day one,
03:42if you don't have some level of excitement with you,
03:44something's wrong with you.
03:46But the whole thing about it is,
03:47do you have enough to carry you through the whole game?
03:50That's the thing that you have to be looking for at the beginning of the
03:53game.
03:53Everybody's excited.
03:55Everybody's ready to go.
03:56Cause you've been waiting on this since the last game of last year.
03:59You've been waiting.
04:00Preseason notes don't,
04:01don't cure that.
04:02It doesn't feed that.
04:04That one,
04:04when the regular season come,
04:06that is something totally different right there.
04:08And I think everybody's ready to go,
04:10but it comes,
04:10you've got to find out,
04:11who can take it and be that way in the fourth quarter.
04:16You know,
04:17I know everybody care about who starts this,
04:19and the other.
04:20I have a desire to be the guy who wants to finish.
04:23Cause when you're in the game late,
04:25I mean,
04:25the coach trusts you,
04:26right?
04:28It's going to be really interesting to see what happens on the field on
04:33Sunday,
04:33man.
04:34Terry McLaurin yesterday talked about how competitive this summer has been
04:38and how ready that has this team.
04:40I feel like the,
04:42the day one approach this year was really,
04:45really stood out to me.
04:46You know,
04:48I'll just speak this one thing on the past,
04:50like 2024 was great.
04:512025 suck.
04:52But neither one of them dictated how we came into this year.
04:56And I think one thing that stood out about DQ is I remember him getting
04:59the leaders together and he put a few clips together of 2024 and 2025 and
05:03what the standards should look like and when it didn't.
05:06And his,
05:07the way he's holding us accountable has even taken a step up in what he has in
05:11the past,
05:11which has been great,
05:12but it is just,
05:13he just expected more.
05:14He's pushed more of us.
05:15And also he's allowed the leaders to take,
05:19take the team.
05:20You know what I mean?
05:20So there's a lot more self policing.
05:22There's a lot more accountability coming from the players.
05:26And I just think the joy and the competitiveness is in this building right
05:29now.
05:30The joy of just being out here,
05:32creating this culture,
05:33creating this team,
05:34the identity that we want to put on display,
05:36but also the competitiveness.
05:38Like you guys out here for a lot of practices and you know,
05:41I've been here for a while.
05:42And I think that was one of the most competitive camps I've been a part of,
05:46not just our team,
05:47but then we went against other teams as well.
05:48And even when Baltimore,
05:49I was like good on good.
05:51You know what I mean?
05:51You need those types of practices too,
05:53where they get after you,
05:54you get after them a little bit and you respond.
05:57And I think after Baltimore,
05:58you could just feel the click with everybody that we needed to continue to take
06:02steps forward.
06:02If we wanted to put ourselves in a situation to be confident going in,
06:06this week.
06:06And I really feel like we did that,
06:08like going into the break that we just had last week,
06:10we had three great days.
06:12This week of practice has been really strong and DQ has just talked about
06:15being in crazy shape.
06:17And I feel like we've really done that and just taking the bull by the
06:19horns and we're having fun.
06:20You know what I mean?
06:21Like nobody's tight about it either.
06:22I think that's the most important thing.
06:24Like they're going to make plays,
06:25but we're going to make plays too.
06:26You know what I mean?
06:27And it's about,
06:28you know,
06:28I love hearing DQ talk about the winning time moments because I feel like
06:32that's really going to make the difference.
06:34You know,
06:36at the end of the day,
06:37you may not make all the plays that you want,
06:39but if you had the ball in five's hands or the defense has a chance to get
06:42them a stop to get us off the field,
06:43that's,
06:43what's going to matter.
06:44Those,
06:45those opportunities to really close the game out.
06:48I can listen to Terry talk about football all the time,
06:50but that was my point when he said after that Baltimore practice,
06:53we really felt it clear.
06:55Yeah.
06:55And I think the thing about it is,
06:57it's not easy to admit when you're not where you're supposed to be.
07:01Right.
07:01And I think when you have guys who can notice it,
07:05and I love the fact that he's allowing the leaders of this team to go,
07:10because let's be real.
07:11You can BS a coach.
07:15You go into a coach's office.
07:16He tell you stuff.
07:17You walk back into the meeting room.
07:19Hey,
07:19what did coach say?
07:21You get to dictate what he said.
07:23Right.
07:24But if you got to deal with guys in the locker room coming to see you face
07:27to face and other guys seeing it happening,
07:29get way,
07:30a way better effect out of that.
07:32Cause now everybody else knows you've been noticed.
07:37You've been put on notice.
07:38And if you don't change it,
07:40the other guy's going to say,
07:41well,
07:41you,
07:41you're not,
07:42you're not doing what you're supposed to be doing for the team.
07:44You know what I'm saying?
07:44Yeah.
07:45So when we have him saying that after that game,
07:48after that practice,
07:49as they notice some stuff,
07:50yeah,
07:50they probably say we better than this.
07:53And let's start.
07:54Like I always felt when I would get to practice,
07:57Andre John,
07:59Andre Collins used to be my roommate.
08:01He's a linebacker.
08:02I'm a running back.
08:03We go at it every day.
08:06Cause I felt he was good enough to make me better.
08:09And I damn sure felt I was good enough to make him better.
08:11And it was never that,
08:12you know,
08:13brother-in-law type that,
08:14Hey man,
08:14let's take it easy today.
08:16There were times when we finished our practice,
08:17but people didn't know if we'd go back to the room together,
08:19cause we wanted to go at each other,
08:21you know,
08:21and you have to have some level of that.
08:23If you're going into practice and every,
08:25every day is easy,
08:26getting your ass kicked when the season starts,
08:28but if you go to practice and some days you lose,
08:31as Terry stated,
08:31and some days you win,
08:33you know,
08:34you're getting better.
08:34You're competing at that moment.
08:36Put on notice.
08:37You can tell it's a football Friday presented by Adios premium can margaritas.
08:41but there that way goes,
08:42yeah,
