00:01Moroccan lawyers are continuing a nationwide strike launched nearly three
00:05months ago to protest changes to their practice which they say undermine their
00:09independence the reforms championed by Justice Minister Abdul Latif Wabi and
00:15passed by Parliament in May affect the training of lawyers and governance of
00:19law firms we're observing a general boycott of professional services this
00:26decision remains in force the executive board of the Moroccan bar Association
00:31renewed it today and has scheduled a meeting for September 20th 2026 the
00:39changes were adopted in August despite the lawyers ongoing protest and strike the
00:46bar Association says the boycott will continue until the lawyers concerns are
00:50taken into consideration
00:56whichever government emerges from the elections if it extends a hand to us to
01:01resolve this problem it will find hours extended as well so that we can reach an
01:06appropriate solution for this law has led to dysfunction tragedies and harm
01:16the strike has disrupted the functioning of courts causing delays in the handling of
01:21cases and preventing many citizens from filing legal complaints
