Strong winds, heavy rain in Japan's Ishigaki as super typhoon Champi nears
Stores are closed and people shelter from the heavy rain in Ishigaki, in Japan's Okinawa prefecture, as super typhoon Champi approaches the island. The storm is expected to sweep past Taiwan's northeast coast on Friday and Saturday as it moves towards China and Japan, Taiwan's Central Weather Administration (CWA) said.
