19:28He played in Carolina for a little while
19:29Had a big long field goal at the end
19:31Against the Rams last year
19:33You can get him to the
19:34Anywhere between the 40 and the 42 yard line
19:37Kind of looking around on the goal post right now
19:40It doesn't look like there's a lot of wind
19:41And you know kickers look at wind
19:43And how's the footing on the field
19:45How's the turf
19:46And you know we walked out there before the game
19:48And the turf is excellent
19:49It's soft
19:49The sun came out
19:50Kind of burned that dew off
19:52So you know they've got you know another 12 yards
19:55To get Eddie Pinheiro in range
19:56So the whole field is wide open
19:58With that one timeout left
20:00So Kyle Shanahan a lot at his disposal here
20:03On third down
20:03His career long
20:05Was 59 yards
20:07Which actually was against the Rams
20:08Last year on Thursday Night Football
20:10Week 5
20:11In a game that he eventually hit the game winner
20:13In overtime as well
20:16Third down and three
20:20McCaffrey just three carries so far
20:23Evans has been the go-to on third down
20:25And Purdy looking that way again
20:26But Evans couldn't haul it in
20:31He had him
20:32He had him there on a speed out
20:34And Brock Purdy
20:36Look you know this is
20:36You talk about affecting the passer right here
20:39This is Byron Young
20:40Coming off the left
20:41The left side of that offensive line
20:43Watch Brock Purdy
20:43Can't quite step up into that throw
20:45Trent Williams is in his lap
20:47If he could have got a little bit more on that throw
20:49Could have put it out in front of Mike Evans
20:51But that's
20:51That's one that Mike Evans usually catches
20:54Watch him again right here
20:55Just a good inside rush
20:57Into the feet of Brock Purdy
21:00Second punt for Whiteman
21:02And now the Rams do have all three timeouts
21:06We'll see how much time is on the clock
21:08When they officially do get this football
21:11Smith will let it say
21:12And that was nearly perfect
21:15Instead it'll go into the end zone
21:16For a touchback with 20 seconds remaining
21:20So you got 20 seconds left
21:22The Rams still have all three timeouts to work with
21:25And we'll see what Sean McVay decides to do
21:28In terms of his aggressiveness out there on the field
21:30We've seen Matthew Stafford
21:31Hasn't looked quite like the MVP version of himself
21:33That we saw last year
21:34Hasn't been super sharp yet
21:36But with a guy like Matthew Stafford
21:37This moment's never too big for him
21:39And he still has those big guys on the outside
21:40He's got Devontae Adams
21:41He's got Puka Nakua
21:42The whole field is wide open
21:4420 seconds, three timeouts
21:45They can attack the middle of the field
21:47As well as the sidelines still
21:48We'll see again that aggressive nature
21:49Or if they decide to just take the knee
21:51Which they will
21:53And take it right into the half
21:58First half of football
22:00American style
22:01In Melbourne, Australia
22:02Is in the books
22:0449ers are going to take that second half kickoff
22:06With a 10-7 advantage
22:09With a touchdown coming
22:10From Demarcus Robinson
22:12The former Ram
22:13It was Kyron Williams who got it
22:14Across the goal line for the Rams
22:17In the beginning of that second quarter
22:19As well
22:23Let's go to MJ
22:24All right coach
22:26Injuries to two key skill position players
22:28But Brock is really spreading the ball around
22:29What's the priority offensively for the second half?
22:32Keep attacking their defense
22:33I mean they do a good job mixing it up
22:34He's spreading it around
22:35Finding the holes
22:36We got to make those plays on third down
22:38We've had a couple key drops
22:39That's gotten off this field
22:40But I like how we're competing so far
22:42The defense has been firing on all cylinders
22:44What do you say about
22:45Raheem Morris' impact already
22:47Through the first half?
22:48He's doing a great job mixing it up
22:49You know they had that one big play with Puka
22:51We just got to wrap him up
22:52And not let him get extra
22:53And we got to do a little bit better job
22:54Versus the run
22:55But doing an awesome job
22:55During the first half
22:56Thanks
22:56Thanks
22:58All right MJ appreciate it
23:00L and the squad
23:01On the other side
23:0210-7
23:03At the half in Melbourne
23:06The NFL kickoff
23:08Presented by NFL Sunday Ticket
23:12Niners won the toss
23:13And elected to defer
23:14So they will start with the football
23:16To begin the third quarter here
23:18And from the four-yard line
23:20Debo Samuel will look for a lane
23:22And he finds her
23:22To question 35
23:24Takes it all the way to midfield
23:27Debo Samuel
23:28Has his gold helmet back
23:30And his powers have returned
23:32With that 19 in white
23:34Moments ago
23:35Tom Palacero
23:35Caught up with Sean McVay
23:38Sean a little bumpy
23:39First half on offense
23:40That happens in week one
23:41What's Raheem throwing to you guys
23:43That's causing some of that?
23:44You know what
23:44They're doing a great job
23:45Give them credit
23:46But we just got to be able to execute
23:48You know we haven't been able to sustain
23:49You know consecutive plays
23:51We're taking some penalties
23:52You know we're making some
23:53Uncharacteristic mistakes
23:54But beauty is
23:56We got a second half
23:57Let's be in the moment
23:58Take a little play to time
23:59See what we're about
23:59Some good things on defense
24:00Got the early turnover
24:01We've kept McCaffrey
24:03Pretty contained
24:03How do you think
24:04I think that's all
24:05Yeah they've done a great job
24:06We just got to be able to get
24:07Some early stops
24:08They've had some third down success
24:09But I like the way
24:10We're playing defensively
24:11We get a stop right here
24:13And then we go do
24:13What we're capable of
24:14Offensively
24:15We'll be okay
24:15Thanks Sean
24:16Thanks Tom
24:45I love the timing
24:46From Christian
25:16From Christian as he comes
25:16Through this hole right
25:16So he's downhill
25:16He cuts it left
25:16For a gain of three and a half
25:19I'm kind of seeing this rotation
25:20From Kyle Shanahan in the backfield
25:22Right now
25:22You know Kalen Black's got eight rushes
25:25Christian has five
25:26They've you know they've got 13 rushes
25:28For 87 yards
25:29They've done a good job of splitting it up
25:31And you know they've passed the ball around
25:32In the first half
25:33To pretty much everybody
25:34Mike Evans has five catches
25:36Demarcus Robinson had the long touchdown catch
25:38Christian has the catch
25:39George Kittle
25:40Debo Samuel
25:41And Luke Farrell
25:42All have catches
25:43So this ball has been spread around
25:44Compared to just two pass catchers
25:46For the Rams
25:47Over the first two quarters
25:52He was checking motion
25:53On second down and six
25:56Cody
25:56Well he sees
25:57And it's caught
25:58It's Robinson
25:59Tilted up field
26:00With a five yard line
26:01Quentin Lake
26:02Did get the arms around him
26:03But 11 more yards
26:04On the catch and run
26:05For number 11
26:07And just a great job
26:08By Demarcus Robinson
26:09Right here
26:10Running this route
26:10He does a really good job
26:12Of getting even
26:13With Quentin Lake
26:13Puts his foot in the ground
26:14And just good burst
26:15To space
26:16And that route right there
26:17Is designed
26:18You can go inside
26:18You can go outside
26:19And you find space
26:21And Demarcus Robinson
26:22See space
26:22Out the flat
26:23Him and Purdy
26:24Are on the same page
26:25And an easy completion there
26:30Chris Shula
26:31Hoping his defense
26:32Can once again
26:32Come up with a momentum
26:34Stopping play
26:35Like they had
26:36With the interception
26:36Of the first half
26:41First and goal
26:42McCaffrey
26:43Stumbles to the five
26:50Looks like he might have
26:51Tripped a little bit there
26:51Right when he got that ball
26:53Because there was a
26:54There was a scene
26:54Right there
26:55Between Jake Brendel
26:56And Dominic Cooney
26:57The right guard
26:57In the center
26:58And looks like he kind of
26:59Stumbled there to start
27:00And you know
27:02This again
27:02We talked about
27:03Four down territory
27:04For this
27:04This Niners offense here
27:06You know
27:06You get an opportunity
27:07Does Mike Evans
27:08Sneak in here
27:09And you throw a deep fade ball
27:10He's obviously going to be
27:11On the left side
27:12Of this formation
27:13Right now
27:13But they find a way
27:14To isolate him
27:16It's Evans
27:17Versus Watson
27:18At the top of your screen
27:19But first
27:20It is a timeout
27:22For Kyle Shanahan
27:26This drive
27:27Moving quickly
27:28Down the field
27:29And Shanahan wants to
27:30Make sure it ends
27:31In Pater
27:34We were keeping our eyes
27:35On this matchup
27:36Miles Garrett
27:37Versus Trent Williams
27:38It has lived up
27:39To the billing so far
27:40Yeah Trent Williams
27:41Going into year 17
27:43You know
27:43You get a chip right here
27:44And then
27:45The physicality
27:46And the athletic ability
27:47Of Trent Williams
27:49Is unique
27:49At this age
27:50And at this size
27:51And Noah
27:52We talked a little bit
27:53About it
27:53I talked to you about it
27:54My rookie year
27:55I lined up against
27:56Trent Williams
27:57And you think
27:57You're a big bad player
27:58You know
27:59And then Trent Williams
28:00Got a hold of me
28:01He drove me to the sideline
28:02His hand around my neck
28:04And there's actually
28:04A picture of it
28:05I look like a child
28:06Right next to Trent Williams
28:08You said you mentioned it
28:09To him this year too
28:10And you just said
28:10I remember that
28:13Second and goal
28:17And then you get to the NFL
28:38And you realize there's guys
28:40That are just different
28:41Than everybody in the NFL
28:42And he's been doing it
28:42A long time
28:43And he's a really good player
28:45Number 95 in blue
28:47Is pretty different too
28:48But he cooks up
28:49And up on third and goal
28:50Purdy
28:51End zone
28:52Evans
28:53Touchdown
28:55He ripped it away
28:57From Watson
28:58And the first Purdy
29:00To Evans
29:00Connection in the end zone
29:01In Australia
29:11And you're not getting
29:12Much of a route
29:13From Mike Evans
29:14Right here
29:14But Brock Purdy
29:15Talked about
29:16The frame that he has
29:17He's never had a receiver
29:18Like this
29:18And sometimes
29:19Sometimes when he's covered
29:21Still throw it up there
29:22The biggest thing
29:23On the ball
29:23Is like this
29:23Is just give him
29:24An opportunity
29:25To go be big
29:26Go be physical
29:27Have that great frame
29:28He's 6'5
29:29He's got great length
29:30With this ability
29:30To catch the ball
29:33It's a great addition
29:34For this Niners offense
29:35If my guy is better
29:36Than your guy
29:37And I'm going to give you
29:37A chance to catch it
29:39And Yara's extra point
29:41Is true
29:43109th touchdown
29:44In the career
29:45Of Mike Evans
29:46But it's number one
29:47For the 49ers
29:48To extend the lead
29:49Burge the Mosquito Bowl
29:50In theaters
29:51October 30th
29:54As the Niners
29:55Extended to a 10-point cushion
29:56The Rams
29:57Are yet to put themselves
29:58In position
29:58With Winnington
29:59And he takes it
30:00Just past the 25
30:03Nice big hit
30:04Once again
30:04This Niner special teams
30:06Has delivered
30:06That time Neal
30:08Hey look at this
30:09Look at this
30:09Niners pass rush
30:10We start with Nick Bosa
30:11You think that knee's okay
30:12Just throws Warren McClendon
30:13Out of the way
30:14And then the offseason
30:15Acquisition with Osa
30:17Odigizu
30:17Right up the middle
30:18And then finally
30:19We're going to
30:20Get a slot pressure
30:21From Upton Stout
30:22Right here
30:22So they've done it
30:23From the slot
30:24They've done it
30:24From the edge
30:25They've done it
30:25Inside with Osa
30:26They've done a great job
30:28At getting after Stafford
30:29Found out this week
30:30After practice
30:31Alfred Collins
30:32Out for the season
30:33Turned for Tony
30:35Stafford hands out
30:36On first down
30:37And again
30:38There's no running room
30:39This time
30:40Blake Corum
30:41Couldn't find the open space
30:43And Bosa
30:43Was the one
30:44Who occupied it
30:45But Luke
30:46We were impressed
30:47With the opportunity
30:48Now for guys
30:48Like James Thompson Jr
30:50An undrafted rookie
30:51Out of Illinois
30:52Grayson Halton
30:53A fourth round pick
30:54Out of Oklahoma
30:54Who now have to step up
30:56Along with
30:56The second year man
30:57C.J. West
30:58And absolutely
30:59You know
30:59This is
30:59I think this is
31:00A good example
31:00Of what a veteran guy
31:02Does
31:02Like Osa
31:02Odigizu
31:03He comes in
31:04He teaches these guys
31:05They know what it looks like
31:06And didn't come along faster
31:07Because of a veteran
31:10Take it to Corum
31:11On second and long
31:13Stafford
31:13Deep shot
31:15And it is
31:16But
31:16And incomplete
31:17He was looking again
31:18Down the field
31:19For Nakua
31:19D'Amador Lenore
31:20Was in coverage
31:21But there's a flag back
31:22At the 44 yard line
31:27Yeah
31:27We're going to get
31:28A double move
31:29Right here on the outside
31:30From
31:30From Puka Nakua
31:34Defense number two
31:35Five yard penalty
31:36Automatic first out
31:39It's D'Amador
31:40Lenore
31:41Their outside corner
31:42You get the little bit
31:42Of a double move
31:43You think it's a deep out
31:44And then he converts it
31:45Vertical
31:46And
31:47Gets a little handsy
31:48There at the top
31:48Of the route
31:49And they got that flag
31:52This was not
31:53A hold or pass interference
31:54That was a legal
31:55Contact by Lenore
31:57So the five yard penalty
31:58But the automatic
31:59First down
32:00Will bring this
32:01To the
32:0131 yard line
32:07And
32:07Hand up
32:08Goes to
32:08Corham
32:08Stutter step move
32:09And
32:09Corham
32:10Reversing directions
32:11Gets it
32:12To the
32:1239 yard line
32:13Picks up
32:14Eight
32:15Second and short
32:17And this is where
32:18This offense
32:19Wants to live
32:19Positive gains
32:21On first down
32:22It opens up
32:22The opportunity
32:23For this hard play
32:24Action
32:24Deep shot down
32:26The field
32:26This is where
32:27They struggled
32:27In the first half
32:28Was to be
32:28Positive on first down
32:30Keep themselves
32:30Out of those
32:31Second and
32:32Second and longs
32:32That agape
32:33The play
32:34Action
32:34Passing game
32:35Turbo top
32:35Wait
32:36Wait
32:36On kick
32:37Hit him
32:43Turbo top
32:44Second and two
32:45For Corham
32:46And this time
32:47It's Bosa
32:48With that
32:48Penetration
32:51Alright Noah
32:51Alright Noah
32:52This is
32:53This is what
32:53I think
32:54This Niners
32:54Defense
32:55Was missing
32:55Last year
32:56On this play
32:56There's three guys
32:57That made the play
32:58Drake Greenlaw
32:59Right here
32:59Fred Warner
33:00Nick Bosa
33:00Watch those three guys
33:02They're all around
33:02The football
33:03This is what
33:04They missed
33:04Last year
33:05Watch
33:05Nick Bosa
33:05Inside
33:06Drake Greenlaw
33:07Turn it back
33:07Inside
33:07Bosa at the point
33:09Fred Warner
33:10Finishes it
33:11When you walk
33:11Out on the field
33:12And you game
33:13Plan during the
33:13Week
33:14And they have
33:1497, 57, and 54
33:16It makes life
33:17A lot more
33:17Difficult for offenses
33:20Sets up
33:20Third down
33:21And one
33:23Fake it
33:24Stafford
33:25Out of the pocket
33:26On the extra pump
33:27Davis Allen
33:28With a catch and run
33:28One of the many
33:30Tight ends
33:30That we've seen
33:31For this Rams
33:32Offense
33:32And Allen
33:33Gets spilled out
33:34After a stellar
33:35Gain
33:35To keep this
33:36Drive alive
33:37Just the second
33:37Third down
33:38Conversion of the
33:38Day
33:40Yeah, and here's
33:41Here's the tight end
33:42That Sean McVay
33:43Really likes
33:43He talks about the
33:45Physicality
33:45Right here
33:46Of Davis Allen
33:47Just sneak him
33:48Into the flat
33:48Right here
33:49Stafford's got
33:50An easy throw
33:51To convert
33:51On third down
33:52And it's like
33:54He's a little
33:54A little banged up
33:55On the play
33:56Yeah, he was slow
33:57To get up
33:57And then looked like
33:58He might have
33:58Stumbled forward
33:59After he got
34:00Back to his feet
34:01So he's being helped
34:02You see right here
34:03On the back end
34:04The way that he
34:05Kind of falls
34:05He takes the extra
34:06Hit from
34:06Drake Greenlaw
34:08And so they
34:09Will make sure
34:09That he's alright
34:10He still has
34:10The grass
34:11Towards the top
34:12Of his face mask
34:15So we've seen
34:16Davis Allen
