S. Africa: Johannesburg hearing postponed for man accused of murder

A man suspected of killing his wife and two daughters in England appeared in a Johannesburg courthouse on Thursday. Ndodana Mkhanyisi Tshuma is a British citizen of Zimbabwean origin; he has admitted unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.

00:07courthouse on Thursday. Dodana Mianisi Chuma is a British citizen of Zimbabwean origin and his
00:16extradition hearing has now been postponed. He has admitted unlawful possession of a firearm
00:22and ammunition in South Africa. 45-year-old Chuma was arrested back in July in a
00:29Johannesburg suburb in an operation involving South African police and Interpol. A relative
00:37living abroad contacted authorities in the UK after not hearing from the family for several
00:41days. The bodies of his wife and children aged 15 and 5 were then discovered at the family
00:49home near Bedford, north of the British capital. According to documents from the coroner's office,
00:56they died from head injuries. The Independent Office for Police Conduct is now looking into
01:02the force's contact with the family ahead of their deaths.
