00:22The Israeli occupation forces assassinated a 29-year-old Palestinian during a large-scale overnight raid in Akrabah, south of
00:29Nablus.
00:32And on Tuesday, Nicaragua urged the International Court of Justice to reject Germany's attempt to halt a case accusing Berlino
00:39of facilitating genocide in Gaza through its political, financial and military support police room.
00:50Hello, welcome from the South. I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Dresos Studios in Caracas, Venezuela. We begin with the news.
01:10China reaffirmed its support and strengthened its trade and political relations with Mexico amid pressure from the United States.
01:16During an official meeting in Beijing with Mexican counterpart Roberto Velasco Álvarez, Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi emphasized that China
01:24supports Mexico's independence and security.
01:27The diplomat noted that his country respects the Latin American nation's sovereignty under a principle of friendship among equals.
01:32Moreover, he stressed that bilateral ties are not intended to affect or are directed against other countries firmly opposing to
01:40any kind of foreign interference.
01:41Also in this context, one called for stronger, high-level exchanges, greater political trust and deeper cooperation across various sectors.
01:55On Tuesday, Chinese President Xi Jinping held phone talks with British Prime Minister Andy Burnham discussing bilateral relations, economic cooperation
02:04and international issues.
02:05She congratulated Burnham on taking office and said that the two countries are comprehensive strategic partners.
02:12Likewise, the Chinese President called for mutual respect and trust and expanded cooperation in areas including education, healthcare and finance.
02:20She also called for stronger coordination through the United Nations, G20 and World Trade Organization.
02:26For his part, Burnham said Britain would maintain continuity in its China policy and develop a long-term strategic partnership.
02:32He also reaffirmed Britain's position on Taiwan and called for cooperation on international issues and climate change.
03:00In China's Tibet Autonomous Region, 43 people have died and another 519 remain missing following the collapse of a glacier
03:07on the border with Nepal.
03:08Our correspondent Bruno Falci traveled to the epicenter of disaster to report first-hand on the rescue operations.
03:16On August 26, the collapse of a glacier triggered a devastating flood and landslides along the border between China and
03:24Nepal.
03:25From Beijing, we traveled by plane and bus to Giron passing through Lhasa and Tingri.
03:32More than 17 hours on the road to reach the worst-hit area where Telesur was one of the few
03:39international media outlets able to cover the rescue operations first-hand.
03:49From here and extending about 40 kilometers back, the entire area was completely flooded and the road was totally destroyed.
03:58As you can see, the flood mark reached about 35 meters high.
04:01Afterwards, we had to restore electricity and communication as well as rebuild the roads.
04:07Before the disaster, this was what our border checkpoint looked like.
04:11There were 27 buildings in total.
04:13Here, you can see the damage they suffered.
04:15The isolation of this mountainous, high altitude area was already making it difficult for aid to arrive.
04:23The disaster multiplied the challenges, destroying roads and access routes over several kilometers.
04:30The priority was to restore access and allow more than 2,500 rescuers as well as specialists, military personnel, having
04:41machinery and emergency equipment to reach the area.
04:45At the beginning, our only thought was to quickly open the road so that more rescue teams could reach this
04:54central area as soon as possible and begin the rescue operations.
04:57The main difficulty was that the water carrying was very strong.
05:00It was also raining and in the mountains, rocks could break loose and fall at any moment.
05:06Yes, we worked around the clock in 12-hour shifts from 8 in the morning to 8 at night.
05:12Currently, the main task is to excavate layer by layer, search carefully and then clear each level.
05:19Everything has to be thoroughly checked and cleared.
05:22Basically, that is our job.
05:24Conditions remain extreme.
05:26The sediment is average of 4 meters deep and in some areas reached 16 meters.
05:33The search zone was divided into seven areas.
05:37Four have already been completely inspected, while teams continue working in the remaining areas.
05:47Before the road was opened, we used aerial means such as helicopters and drones.
05:53Although strictly speaking, drones are not designed to transport people.
05:57Under strict conditions, we also used them to transport rescuers.
06:01We also used the waterway with boats and inflatable boats to transport personnel to the central area.
06:07Once the road was opened, efficiency increased and the pace of the search operation accelerated, combining heavy machinery with manual
06:15labor.
06:16The Chinese government has mobilized significant resources in the search for survivors.
06:22Rescue teams managed to find two people alive among the debris.
06:27Search operations continue in the areas that have not yet been fully inspected.
06:40And in Japan, the potential rain upon the Tokai region, including Aishi and Gifu prefectures on Tuesday afternoon, floating roads
06:47across the area.
06:48The city of Nagoya, in the Aishi prefecture, recorded 101.5 millimeters of rainfall in one hour, the highest ever
06:55recorded in the city,
06:56and the downpour forced widespread train suspensions that stranded commuters, including a temporary hold to Tokaido, Shinkansen and bullet train
07:04services.
07:09Vietnamese President Tho Lam is making an official visit to Russia,
07:13with both sides highlighting their long-standing partnership and the development of bilateral relations.
07:18Russian state two-major person, Vyacheslav Bolonin, said relations between Russia and Vietnam have strengthened,
07:23highlighting a recent increase in commercial activities.
07:26In this context, Vietnamese President Tho Lam said the two countries share a long-standing friendship and a high level
07:33of political trust.
07:34He described the comprehensive strategic partnership as having deepened in recent years,
07:39with cooperation producing results across multiple areas.
07:42Likewise, Tho Lam said the visit provides an opportunity for the two countries to discuss strategic issues,
07:47establish a long-term vision and advance bilateral cooperation in line with their respective development goals.

08:15since last Sunday ahead of the summit that will take place from September 12th to the 13th.
08:20The meetings will conclude two days before the leaders' summit that will discuss ways to deepen intra-BRICS cooperation and
08:27exchange views on shared global and regional concerns.

08:35with the participation of business leaders, ministers and heads of state to discuss trade, investment, finance and technology.

09:0010 partner nations,
09:01accounting for about 40% of global gross domestic product in efficiency power parity.

09:45In Spain, authorities have seized more than 1.2 tons of cocaine hidden beneath a shipment of coconuts in Sevilla.
09:51Footage released by the Civil Guard on Tuesday shows officers intercepting the shipment at a warehouse,
09:57inspecting the cargo and uncovering packages concealed beneath pallets of coconuts.
10:02Two people were detained during the operation.
10:04Investigators began tracking the operation in December 2025 after identifying a company in Dos Edmanas in Sevilla province,
10:12suspected of being used to bring drugs into Spain.
10:15Sources of true properties also led to the seizure of cash and electronic devices, which authorities said could provide evidence.
10:21The investigation remains open, with authorities saying further arrests are possible.
10:35And volunteers and activists in Spain through Made in Cuba projects have organized the shipment of a container of solidarity
10:42aid to Cuba.
10:43The shipment includes 276 mattresses, school supplies and materials for a special needs school and six homes for children without
10:51parental care in Santiago de Cuba.
10:53The donation also includes 1,200 kilograms of non-perishable food items collected by individuals,
10:58350 boxes of sanitary and educational supplies, and a loan monitor for sports facilities.
11:05The shipment will depart on September 11 from the port of Bilbao to the port of Moa, with Santiago de
11:10Cuba as its final destination.
11:12The estimated marathon transit time is between three and four weeks.
11:24Researchers from Argentina's National Scientific and Technical Research Council, CONICET, are set to protest against layoffs and delays in appointments
11:32to physicians they have already won through competitive examinations.
11:35Over 1,000 professionals are reportedly affected, including around 600 researchers who passed election processes in 2023 and another 400
11:44who did so in 2024.
11:46Many say they have been waiting years to formally enter the institution's permanent staff.
11:51Researchers accused CONICET authorities of creating a bottleneck in appointments while also pointing to low salaries, budget cuts and growing
11:59job insecurity across Argentina's scientific sector.
12:03They will mobilize Wednesday in Buenos Aires and other locations across the country demanding their appointments and what they describe
12:08as an end to the dismantling of Argentina's public science system.
12:22The National Universities Union have brought higher education institutions across the country to a halt after rejecting an official 3
12:30% pay offer and demanding compliance with the University Funding Act.
12:34The 24-hour strike brings academic and administrative activities at institutions to a standstill and is a direct response to
12:40the failure of the collective bargaining meeting on September 1, during which the executive branch attempted to set a 3
12:46% wage cap for September.
12:48The unions described the proposal as a provocation that ignores the constant erosion of portions of power and intensifies the
12:55conflict with the university system.
12:57The workers' central demand includes an urgent 31.2% cash-up adjustment to make up for the arrears accumulated
13:04through July in addition to accounting for August inflation and the establishment of automatic adjustment clauses.
13:17An inflation in Colombia reached 6.24% over the last 12 months, marking its highest rate in two years,
13:24according to official data released by the National Administrative Department of Statistics.
13:28Year-to-date price growth reached 5.3%, already surpassing the total inflation recorded throughout 2025.
13:35Statistics show that price increases are concentrated in essential household categories, including housing, electricity, water, health services, and staple foods.
13:45Regional disparities persist across the country, with cities like Medellín experiencing annual inflation surges of up to 7.07%, increasing
13:54pressure on wage purchasing power and low-income families.
14:04And Venezuela continues to hold strategic importance on the energy map of Latin America and the Caribbean.
14:10According to the Latin American Energy Organization, the country currently accounts for 11% of the region's oil production and
14:16holds proven reserves estimated at over 330 billion barrels.
14:19Venezuela currently ranks behind Brazil, which accounts for 42% of regional production, and Mexico with 17%.
14:26However, experts believe this scenario could change following the oil agreement reached between Caracas and Washington,
14:33which contemplates progressively increasing Venezuelan production by up to 1.4 million barrels per day by the end of 2026.
14:41Latin American oil production is also growing by 2026.
14:45Output is estimated at around 4 billion barrels compared with nearly 3 billion barrels annually recorded between 2016 and 2024.
15:19A Monday in Venezuela, the Technical Advisory Committee was sworn in to work on drafting the report.
15:24the new seismic design code for reconstruction following the earthquakes on June 24.
15:29The team, comprised of specialists in civil engineering and seismology, will establish the standards for evaluating affected buildings and define
15:37the safety criteria that new projects must meet.
15:40The authorities explained that repair plans will be processed through the municipalities and subsequently reviewed by the Presidential Commission responsible
15:48for evaluating the habitability of infrastructure.
15:50In this way, the goal is to standardize the technical criteria for recovery and reconstruction efforts in the affected areas.

16:45Welcome back.
16:46Iran highlighted significant progress in talks with Oman to establish a temporary transit route through the Strait of Hormuz.
16:52Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Arakshi noted that negotiations with Oman are entering their final stage, emphasizing that an agreement on
16:59temporary passage through the Strait is likely to be reached soon.
17:02He also stressed that it is essential to avoid interference that could hinder the progress of the process and urged
17:09the United States to renew its commitments to facilitate a return to normalcy.
17:13Arakshi said that the current tensions are the result of Washington's failure to comply with the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding.
17:26The Israeli occupation forces assassinated 29-year-old Palestinian Abdul Karim Balin-Shabert during a large-scale overnight raid in
17:33Akrabah, south of Nablus.
17:35Palestinian sources reported that Israeli troops should run the victim's home, fire projectiles, and use military bulldozers to partially demolish
17:43the structure before seizing his body.
17:44The military raid forms part of an escalated campaign across the occupied West Bank, where over 25 Palestinians were detained
17:52in nearby Kabbalan.
17:54Simultaneous military incursions, shop closures in Hawara, Cedar Valens, and the destruction of main water lines in the Suafat refugee
18:01camp and ANATA continued to severely restrict movement and civilian access to basic services.
18:14And on Tuesday, Nicaragua urged the International Court of Justice to reject Germany's attempt to halt a case accusing Berlin
18:21of facilitating genocide in Gaza through its political, financial and military support for Israel.
18:27On Monday, Berlin argued that the court could not adjudicate Nicaragua's allegations without first determining whether Israel's actions in Gaza
18:36were unlawful.
18:37Nicaragua's agent before the court, Carlos Arguello Gomez, rejected the position, arguing that Israel's conduct had already been extensively documented
18:46and could be considered without making Israel an indispensable party.
18:50A member of Nicaragua's legal team told the court that Germany had authorized more than 1.5 billion euros in
18:57military exports to Israel since October of 2023.
19:00Following the ICJ's rejection of Managua's request, proceedings would continue until a final judgment is issued on the merits of
19:07Nicaragua's claims.
19:11Nicaragua invokes Germany's responsibility in connection to multiple violations of international law, particularly in respect of the odious scourge of
19:21genocide and international humanitarian law, the right to self-determination, and the prohibition of racial discrimination, racial segregation, and apartheid.
19:32Despite the news blackout imposed by Israel, there cannot be any doubt that the German government is fully aware of
19:39the crimes being committed by Israel.
19:42And Lebanese journalist Ali Shabib was injured alone with his cameraman during an Israeli airstrike in the city of Nabatye
19:48in southern Lebanon.
19:49The incident occurred while the team was preparing for a live broadcast, and the footage captured the exact moment when
19:55an Israeli drone struck near their location,
19:57also causing partial damage to several buildings and setting cars on fire.
20:02The journalists were taken to Sheikh Raqbek Hospital and are reported to be in stable condition.
20:07The attack is part of an escalation of Israeli operations against residential areas in the south of the country, which
20:13have left dozens dead in recent days.
20:22The organization Freedom Flotilla to Gaza announced a new expedition to the Palestinian territory is scheduled for October.
20:29The group, which currently has a dozen crew members, will begin a journey this Tuesday from Bilbao, Spain, heading to
20:35Vigo to bring on board new participants.
20:37Its members stated that they aim to deliver humanitarian aid, denounce restrictions on the entry of aiding to Gaza, and
20:43draw the government's attention to the situation of the Palestinian population.
20:47The organization noted that since 2010, it has conducted several expeditions to Gaza, and that this new mission could face
20:54arrests or incidents as has happened on previous occasions.
21:04The UK government is set to announce what Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband describes as a broad reset in Britain's relations
21:11with Israel.
21:12Miliband is expected to impose a UK ban on trade in goods and some services from illegal Israeli settlements,
21:19and more likely to draw strong criticism from both Israel and the United States.
21:22It is also expected to reaffirm Britain's support for a two-state solution and call for greater protection of Palestinian
21:28rights and respect for international law.
21:30In a statement to lawmakers, Miliband is expected to use stronger language about the humanitarian situation in Gaza than recent
21:36British foreign secretaries.
21:38Measures are likely to fall short of demands from Palestinian advocacy groups,
21:43but they signal a shift toward more active UK efforts to oppose the expansion of Israeli settlements in the West
21:50Bank.
22:10And four paintings worth an estimated 9 million euros, or around 10 million dollars, have been stolen from the Renoir
22:17Museum in Calle-sur-Mer, on Frances Riviera.
22:20According to the city's mayor, two individuals broke into the museum shortly before 6 Tuesday morning and took the four
22:27artworks.
22:28The suspects were spotted by the city surveillance cameras and pursued by police, but managed to escape.
22:34During the chase, the two men dropped one of the stolen paintings, according to the mayor.
22:38Authorities are now investigating the robbery and searching for the remaining three artworks.
