A college football game in Houston took an unexpected turn when a fan decided to run onto the field during the Cougars’ season opener.
Houston was celebrating a 33-20 victory over Oregon State when the unidentified fan in a blue shirt suddenly made his way onto the field. His field invasion didn’t last long, though. A nearby police officer quickly chased him down and delivered a powerful tackle that immediately brought the stunt to an end.
The moment quickly became one of the most talked-about scenes from the game, with fans joking about the officer’s impressive tackling technique.
While rushing onto a football field might seem like a quick way to get attention, it can come with serious consequences, including possible legal trouble or disciplinary action.
Houston improved to 1-0 with the win, while the Cougars are scheduled to return to action September 12 against Southern. The fan, meanwhile, likely won’t be forgetting that tackle anytime soon.
