Tensions have emerged within the ruling party in Telangana following the removal of a woman minister from the state cabinet. The development occurred after controversy surrounding graft allegations, leading to action by a disciplinary panel when resignation requests were not met. Allegations of political blackmail and internal marginalisation have surfaced in the aftermath. Meanwhile, the opposition has criticised the ruling leadership over its stance on women empowerment and representation in governance.

00:06That is Konda Sureka being dropped from the cabinet.
00:09Now, post that she's dropped a big bombshell.
00:12She has to say, Konda Sureka has alleged that she was marginalized by the Chief Minister.
00:18Blackmail politics has been used by Chief Minister Yvonne Threddy.
00:21That is why she's been dropped. She's not been given a chance to explain herself even.
00:27Sacked after daughter's graft charge, that's what she's also come out to claim.
00:30There were certain comments, remarks that had been made previously by her daughter, which she had come out to, in
00:36fact, distance herself from.
00:37She'd said that these are her personal opinions, nothing to do with what I think.
00:42But despite that, there was this entire order that had come in initially from the leadership, Congress leadership, for her
00:48to, in fact, resign on her own.
00:49When she refused to do that, it was a disciplinary committee, a panel that was formed, that, in fact, came
00:56out to drop her from the very ministry.

01:17Telangana up against Congress itself.

01:31women empowerment.
01:32And they have amped up the attack against Congress that Rahul Gandhi says that smashed the patriarchy on one side.
01:39On the other side, we see women ministers being dropped from the cabinet.
01:44So, isn't there a bit of a hypocrisy playing out here?
