00:00Some matches carry more weight than others and last evening's victory was exactly the case for Club Sandu.
00:06Defence Force are the standard of local football as the country's most successful club.
00:11And it's for that very reason Angus Eve considers the victory an achievement.
00:16It's massive for us as a club, as a club, a young club in the pro league, I must say.
00:22You know, the club came through the ranks, South Zone, so credit firms are deemed for doing it in the
00:28right way
00:28and building teams and going up.
00:31And to come against Defence Force, who actually is champions in this tournament in a different format, obviously.
00:37But together, they've won the league for the past two years.
00:42I mean, running away.
00:43We gave them a bit of a run last season, but credit to them.
00:48A very good unit, very professional outfit.
00:50Despite their inexperience as debutants in the CONCACAF Caribbean Cup,
00:54Club Sandu are just a point short of advancing out of group play.
00:58Yet, Eve is taking things one step at a time as they continue to improve.
01:03We're just taking them one game at a time.
01:05You know, that's all we can do.
01:06We prepare for one game at a time.
01:08We go back to the joint board.
01:10We look at the mistakes that we made tonight.
01:13We keep our clean sheet.
01:14We're really positive.
01:15Maybe we put our...
01:16We had a little bit more chances.
01:18It seems to be our team's in force.
01:21We had a little bit more chances that we could have taken tonight.
01:23But this, again, puts us in a good position.
01:26We believe if we could go and get the victory in the next game and we're playing at home,
01:31as you rightly said, it would put us in a good spot to go into the second round.
01:35Contrastingly, Defence Force's head coach, Walt Noriega, is trying to pick up the pieces
01:39as the champions have their backs against the ropes with slim hopes of advancing.
01:45Preparation now needs to be done.
01:47We put ourselves in a deep hole.
01:50But as a footballer, we have to go, dig deep and finish off the tournament.
01:55It's our way game in Dominica.
01:58So we go and we give it a good shot.
02:00But we go back to the joint board and continue the work that we're doing.
