00:53Thank you, Sagair Raj. Apoorwa Jayachandran, I believe you are reporting from the Tamil Nadu assembly. What do you have
00:58for us for the day?
01:03Well, important and interesting promises that have come in by the Tamil Nadu chief, Mr. Vijay.
01:08He's talked about raising the milk prices by rupees 3. So, earlier on, the TVK government had said that they
01:15will raise the price to rupees 41.
01:17Now, it has been raised by 3 rupees. So, that will be rupees 44 for a milk packet.
01:22One of these promises, full promises by the TVK.
01:25Apart from this, interesting developments regarding the global city.
01:30You know, this was the global sports city that had been promised by the DMK government when the DMK was
01:36in power.
01:37But, incidentally, right now, the TVK government has completely cancelled the contract that had been given there.
01:44Now, what happens to the global sports city is a question that has been raised by leader of opposition, Udhan
01:49Ali Salad.
01:50And we're getting a response from that.
01:50Yes, of course. These are very important announcements made by the chief minister.
01:54Procurement of the milk will get you more update on it.
01:56And Shibhi Moll from Keralan, what do you have for us for the day?
02:02Well, Pramod in Kerala, a statement by a Muslim cleric has sparked major controversy.
02:08He said, he made some very regressive statements against women.
02:12And now, the state government has also, the political parties in the state have come out and hit out against
02:17it.
02:21Well, you'll get more important updates on that. Thank you, Shibhi, for that.
02:24But before that, let's start the show with the stories from the state of Tamil Nadu.
02:37Well, from the state of Tamil Nadu, we have continuous assembly sessions that's happening and it's going to continue until
02:43September 8th.
02:44And for the day, under Rule 110, this is a specific rule, Rule No. 110, through which the chief minister
02:50makes announcement, it will not be taken for discussion.
02:53And for the day, the chief minister's first announcement was about increase of procurement of milk, which means this is
03:00not for the consumers.
03:01Milk producers, government will buy the milk from milk producers.
03:05And that has increased from 38 rupees to earlier 41 and now to 44.
03:10And not just that, the chief minister has also made specific announcements about the power sector, especially for, you know,
03:17Chennai City and also a critical, supercritical thermal power plant in Thutukudi.
03:22Along with that, more for FinTech.
03:24Coimbatore also, there has been a short, short announcement and also about superconductors.
03:29These were the announcements that was made by the chief minister.
03:33However, the leader of the opposition, Udini Stalin, rigged up the issue, claiming that there are media reports about cancelling
03:40another DMK pet project.
03:42And that is about a global sports city.
03:45However, Minister Aadha Vajana, who is the PWD minister and the sports minister, stated that the project is not being
03:51cancelled, unlike certain media reports.
03:53But it is being revamped and another DPR detailed project report is being created to actually increase or expand and
04:02bring in 46 amenities and sports, you know, events that could be conducted in that particular area.
04:07And here's what the natives say.

16:27Thank you very much.
16:53Will Vijay for Prime Minister Pitch remain a non-starter?
16:56Or does the former superstar seriously harbour ambitions of becoming the Prime Minister?
17:03If it does, then Vijay's alliance itself with the Congress could come under threat.
17:08Thank you very much.

20:08here for a couple months now.
20:09No, these are all administrative procedures that I don't want to comment because everything cannot be politicized, no.
20:18So, administrative care, when I was the governor also, I had so much of it.
20:22When I was not governor, I didn't, even the DMK government even took away my minimal security also, what to
20:28do?
20:30Well, these are the important stories from the state of Tamil Nadu and for more important stories from the state
20:35of Karnataka, let's go to Saganaj.
20:45Thank you, Pramod.
20:47Congress backs Karnataka Minister Baswaraj Rai Reddy.
20:51Karnataka Minister Priyank Kargay invoked RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat's comments to take on the BJP and said that Rai Reddy
21:00had merely repeated what Bhagwat said in the US.
21:03He added that Mohan Bhagwat is fine with such comments, but the BJP's minions have a problem with them.
21:12Rai Reddy sparked a massive roar by saying that Islam is the greater than all religions and calling it a
21:18scientific religion.
21:20The minister further said that he usually doesn't go to temples or muds, but wishes to undertake Hajj at least
21:27once.
21:28However, he said he can't go without converting to Islam.
21:32Leader of Opposition and BJP leader R. Ashok came down heavily on the minister over his comments, saying that he
21:39had belittled the faith of Hindus and demeaned Sanatan Dharma.
21:44He also questioned Chief Minister D.K. Shukumar's silence on the matter.
21:48The Safran party demanded that Rai Reddy withdraw his comments and apologize.
21:53If he refused, the BJP demanded that the CM sack him from the cabinet.
21:59Baswaraj Rai Reddy, on the other hand, remains adamant and asked what is wrong with saying Islam is great.
22:06He added that he did not call other religions inferior and that his comments were misunderstood.
22:13Here are the reactions on the story.
22:17Thank you for the question.
22:35If it starts with the insanity, then the Qur'an-bhaqdhi will be released.
22:43I have a study model for the study model.
22:49I have a study model for you.
22:52I have a study model for you.
22:54I have a study model for you.
22:56I have a study model for you.
22:58But you can study more than others.
23:02That's it.
23:03The thoughts of Islam do not exist in Islam.
23:07There is no doubt about it.
23:10In Islam, there is no doubt about it.
23:14There is no doubt about it.
23:16There is no doubt about it.
23:18There is no doubt about it.
23:20There is no doubt about it.
23:23There is no doubt about it.
23:24You are not afraid of it.
23:28It is not good for the press.
23:33There is no doubt about it.
23:35There is no doubt about it.
23:35There is no doubt about it.
23:37There is no doubt about it.
23:39What is it?
23:41He has very clearly stated that there is something to learn in every religion including Islam.
23:47Exactly.
23:48There are certain aspects of Islam.
23:50There are certain aspects in Buddhism or Jainism or Hinduism that anybody can adopt.
23:55And should adopt.
23:56What is wrong with that?
23:58What is the end?
24:00Why is BJP leaders attacking?
24:01They are Mohan Bhagwat Ji only told, no?
24:04They don't listen to Mohan Bhagwat Ji also nowadays.
24:07Now BJP has grown bigger than RSS.
24:09When the RSS chief is saying, you cannot leave Islam or Muslims out of India.
24:16Who are these minions who are telling that, no, what Riley is saying is false?
24:21Peace talks with Pakistan.
24:23They are the ones who said you should continue peace talks with Pakistan.
24:27BJP people are confused now after Dr Mohan Bhagwat's statement.
24:31Why are you in Hindu religion?
24:37See, condemning the other religions, it is not allowed in the constitution also.
24:46If anybody born to a Islam or Muslim, it is superior to him.
24:57But for the vote bank purpose and to appease particular community, some people say these type of statements.
25:16Darsal from Karnataka, let's go to my neighbouring state, Kerala, where my colleague, Shibhi Mohan, will bring the latest from
25:22the state.
25:33Thank you, Sakai.
25:34Well in Kerala, a major controversy has erupted after Muslim scholarly body's leader,
25:41Kandaburam AP Abubakar Musliar made very regressive statements against women.
25:45Now he heads Samastha, a Muslim scholarly body, a very influential group in Kerala.
25:50And in a conference that he attended last day, he made very regressive statements against women saying that Islam implemented
25:57Parda system.
25:58As Islam knew that women being exhibited in public can cause destruction.
26:03He also says that the Holy Quran says that women should obediently live at home following all the advices of
26:10men.
26:10And all these statements were made yesterday at a Muslim conference.
26:14And he goes on to say that there are people trying to advise us saying that we should not make
26:18such statements.
26:19But we are Muslim scholars who have studied our religion for the last many years and we are speaking to
26:24believers.
26:24If somebody is trying to stop us, then we are not going to listen to them as this is based
26:29on the teachings of the religion.
26:31Earlier also Samastha sparked controversy when they released a statement saying that Muslim women should not be exhibited in public
26:38or should come on stage and take part in celebrations as it is against the principles of the religion.
26:43And believers, it doesn't suit believers is what the statement said.
26:47That also sparked a lot of discussions.
26:49But this time it crossed a line is what the political parties here say as we saw the Minister for
26:55Women and Child Development,
26:56and Bindu Krishna coming out and saying that everybody has freedom of expression, but everybody should remember that we are
27:01living in a democratic country
27:02and we are guided by the constitution that grants equal rights to men and women.
27:06The political parties in the state including Congress, CPIM and the BJP have all dismissed the statement.
27:12This is the first time that they have come out and openly dismissed statements of Abubakar Musliar as he is
27:17a very influential figure.
27:18He is also the grand mufti of India who has influence in the international community also.
27:22But very strong worded statements have come in from all the parties saying that this is progressive times.
27:28We are living in progressive times and we need not encourage such statements that Kerala do not need.
27:33Listen to the reactions.
27:37Constitution of India assures equal rights to women and men.
27:42Irrespective of sex, the people have the right to live free and liberal life.
27:52And also this type of statements push women back centuries back so we can accept such statements.
28:00Our women are free to move. They are best rulers. Our girls are always coming through this society and we
28:12can't accept such statements.
28:24This is such a good sign.
28:28That is why we are not aware of that.
28:34That is why we are not aware of that.
28:38We are not aware of that.
29:04And these are the important stories from the states of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Telangana.
29:09And I thank Shibim Moll, Aparovat Jayesh Chandran and Sagar Raj for bringing out all these important stories and updates
29:14from the respective states.
29:16Thank you for watching SoSouth. Keep watching India today.
