00:00Of course, the Yankees have an interesting series also with the Houston Astros coming up.
00:06And Houston continues to just befuddle me here, Tom. I do not know what to make of this team.
00:12I thought they would have enough after the All-Star break to kind of run away with the West.
00:19That has not happened. The offense has let me down. The bullpen has finally righted the ship.
00:24They've gotten healthy. They're firing everybody. Like, what is going on with Houston?
00:30And can we trust them in the Bronx, even against Will Warren tonight?
00:36So I'm really confused by Houston as well. They have turmoil on the field, off the field, whatever you want
00:43to call it.
00:44You know, it's clear the Yankees are a better team than playing great as of late.
00:48They're coming off a rest day of yesterday. Everyone's going to be ready to go.
00:51So, you know, despite the inefficiency with the Houston offense as of late, I'm actually going to look to fade
00:57Will Warren tonight.
00:58I like him specifically under 15 and a half outs recorded.
01:02And, you know, I like looking at pitchers in recent samples compared to the entire season, just so we get
01:08an accurate view.
01:09Over the last 30 days for Will Warren, his ear raise up at 6.26.
01:14His walk rate is higher than it was compared to a season average.
01:17His home runs are higher than it was compared to a season average.
01:20Across the board, he's basically the worst version of himself.
01:22He's been under 15 and a half in six out of his last nine starts.
01:26And, yes, the Astros are struggling right now, but they're still around league average and slightly better, you know,
01:32versus right-handed pitchers in the last 30 days.
01:34Also, with the Yankees coming off the rest day and getting news a little bit earlier that Max Freed should
01:39be back on Saturday to pitch,
01:41I don't think that's the spot that the Yanks want to be like, oh, hey, Will Warren, just go out
01:46there and throw us seven or eight innings.
01:47They can't afford to lose another pitcher if Freed is expected back and, whether, as we know, is probably done
01:54for the season.
01:55So they're on like a thin path right now, and that means Will Warren could pitch well, but he's just
02:01not going to go super deep into the game.
02:03No, and that's okay because bottom line is Yankees got to figure out some way to get some offense going
02:09if they're going to get –
02:11they got to kick this thing into another gear.
02:14So I do think this is a pretty good litmus test for both of these teams here tonight.
02:19I did also see earlier Bieber was scratched, so that means another Max Scherzer start tonight.
02:26And what do we love to do when Max Scherzer takes the mound at the Rogers Center against Kansas City?
02:32What do we like?
02:34We love the over tonight.
02:35I love over eight tonight.
02:37Seth Lugo has been – it's not just about Scherzer.
02:40Granted, Scherzer has been pretty terrible as well, but Seth Lugo has also not been good in recent outings.
02:47In the last 30 days, he has a 618 ERA.
02:50His walks aren't that terrible, but he's not striking anyone out.
02:56His Babbitt is at 337.
02:58I love everything about this matchup, and it also helps that the Royals are seemingly on fire on offense.
03:03They're scoring runs left, right, and center, and they should be able to do so against Max Scherzer.
03:07So the fact that we get a flat eight and you always get the potential for a push,
03:11I think you could take a Royals team total over, and I really do like the game over eight tonight.
03:17Yeah, I'm kind of with you here.
03:19I think runs are coming.
03:22Lugo is kind of leaving far too many pitches over the plate,
03:25but both these teams have actually turned it up offensively a little bit here.
03:30So I do think this game could be – well, anytime Scherzer's on a mound.
03:34Come on, let's face it.
03:35That's going to be fun there.
