How did they fit a queen bed and shower in a 144" Sprinter van build? They achieved this inside the Sequoia + Salt LOFT layout by engineering a motorized East-West elevator bed mechanism paired with a hidden, magnetic inset floor shower pan. This clever spatial design preserves dual full-length kitchen galleys while delivering features typically only found in much larger RVs.

00:12Welcome back to the show back here in Manisquan, New Jersey at Sequoia and Salt. Just met up with
00:17Chris. He's going to give us a full tour inside and out of the Sprinter Loft and this thing is
00:22pretty incredible. So join us. What's going on Patrick? Thanks for having me back on the channel.
00:30Today I want to talk about our newest floor plan. So this is called the Loft. If you visit our
00:36new
00:36website you'll see we have two versions. We have the Scout and the Loft. So this is our East-West
00:41Sleepin' Loft. This is built on a Mercedes Sprinter 144 wheelbase. If we walk around the van you'll
00:49see that we have minimal upgrades but all the right ones. We have some running boards that we
00:55threw on this van. We added the Flatline Vanco roof rack, the Safari roof rack and the ladder on the
01:02side. The roof has 400 watts of solar. It has a Starlink Mini in the rear. It has a vent
01:09fan and
01:10a 12 volt AC unit. You'll notice on the sides we have our bump outs. This is the capsules from
01:17Van
01:18Speed. We Rhino lined them nice and black so they're super durable. When you're driving through
01:22all of that wooded area at the campsites below the capsules you'll notice our shore power connection.
01:29This is going to be on every single one of our vans. We added a rear tow hitch receiver. I
01:34didn't
01:35mention this but in the front of the van we added a front tow hitch receiver underneath the bumper.
01:40As we pull to the side here the windows added solid windows in the rear. Slider window on the sliding
01:48door. We have the Fiamma F45S awning with clips mounted on the side of the van. Next to the clip
01:56you'll see our inlet for our water. This is where you're adding your fresh water. I'm going to open up
02:03the rear doors so you can see what's going on here. On the rear doors we added the van essentials
02:11rear
02:12door organizers. These are great. We add them to almost every single one of our vans now. We added
02:17the bug wall rear screen and sliding door screen. So if you see over here in our driver's side rear
02:24lounge we have our 12 volt 110 fuse panel. GFCI outlet underneath it. Our quick connection for
02:34exterior shower or sprayer hose and a diverter valve so you can obviously make it hot or cold.
02:41And above that you have your water pump. The water system inside of this camper is a 20 gallon water
02:45system. It has a three and a half gallon hot water heater. As we get to the sliding door you'll
02:51notice
02:52our drop down table. This is very standard almost every one of our builds now. And a nice bungee
02:58storage for your shoes as you enter in. On the the flooring we have in this van is two tech
03:04two
03:04woven flooring. Behind the woven flooring you'll notice in the on the floor here this is our inset
03:10shower pan. This again become very popular with a lot of our builds. This is a really nice option if
03:15you have a small van like this like a 144 and you don't want to sacrifice all the space for
03:20an interior
03:21bathroom. So the way that this is going to work you'd pull that top off you put your shower curtain
03:26that clips into these micro L-Clap L track clips on the ceiling. There's a magnetic shower pan. You're
03:33going to disconnect your your faucet connection right here and you're going to then connect in our
03:39shower head that will connect connect connect connect connect and then you'll shower. Okay so this is the
03:46bug wall. What I like about this bug wall is that you can unzip the top piece when you're in
03:53the fall
03:54or winter seasons when you're not using it. So you can keep this in the garage it doesn't you know
03:58you
03:58know bounce around when you're driving. You'll notice our I'm going to say you notice a lot during this
04:05video. You notice? So do you notice this is our go code trim bamboo ceiling. Our headliner shelf is from
04:17van wife components and then this is their blackout partition. I just have it tucked away in the back
04:22there. This is really nice because it has a pole that connects to it. We have our two swivel seats
04:26in
04:27the front and a lagoon table. This this customer opted in for two lagoon tables. The underneath and
04:36then also this has the lagoon table mount that mounts onto the rear of the passenger seat which is
04:41pretty awesome. So inside of that you'll see our velet diesel heater that's connected to the accessory
04:48fuel port of the vehicle. We have our you know all the safety stuff all the safety stuff we got
04:56all the
04:56safety stuff we got the extinguisher and the the detectors and the alarms you got it we got it.
05:02This is bamboo cabinetry. This van is absolutely really I like doing the dual tone so the tops we
05:09added bamboo the bottoms we went with our fossil laminate. On the wall here this is our power display.
05:19This is a Victron energy power system with 3000 watt inverter. We have 460 amp hours of lithium battery.
05:30It's got starlink switch which is awesome automatic gray dump valve. And then this is our display for
05:36our velet heater right here. And then our upper lights. What's cool about our upper lights is they're
05:42connected. We have I say this in every single one of our videos but you'll see that we we like
05:47to connect
05:47our lower lights and our upper lights in one series. So then at nighttime you can just disconnect
05:57which ones are they? So if you have this off you can disconnect the bed lights. So am I doing
06:04this
06:05right? I think I'm doing it right? Oh yeah there you go. The upper cutoff lights. So you can cut
06:19the upper
06:19lights and keep on the bottom lights at night. If you want to create a nice little ambiance then you're
06:25just going to click this button right here. Below that we have a double induction stove top. This is a
06:33solid
06:33surface countertop. I'm going to open up some drawers for you. This drawer probably has a lot of stuff in
06:39it
06:39because this is like all the accessories and stuff that come with this van. This van is leaving this
06:43week for the customer. Below that. This is our toilet. So you guys know how I love bag toilets.
06:53So this toilet is one of them. We are obsessed with these toilets. They make me blush. When does a
06:59toilet make you blush? They make me blush. So we had it. We made a nice little slide out tray
07:06for it. This
07:06lives there. It closes up. Behind that we have our isotherm 85 refrigerator. Nice big refrigerator with a
07:15freezer inside. Upper cabinets. Pantry cabinet.
07:27This is the bamboo that you'll see follows our design throughout. The back here. I'm going to touch
07:34on this one in a second because that one's like multi-functioning. Pop-up countertop extension.
07:42Got our interior ceiling lights and water pump on the side. Again another outlet. Nice deep sink.
07:52Fresh water. Filtered water. Okay. Sponge.
08:02So you're like wow Chris you didn't clean this thing up. Well we just came from the New York auto
08:07show
08:08and there is quite a few things in here that are not put away as they should be. But that's
08:13okay. I'm
08:19going to show you the rest of the cabinets. Okay and here we got some more drawers.
08:24Drawer storage.
08:29Drawer storage. Okay and upper cabinet.
08:35An AC unit.
08:38Okay now let's go down in here. So this is our road vac. Again we've been adding these to a
08:45lot of vans
08:46because they are awesome. You just take this bad boy. Connect it like this. Connect it like that.
08:52And you got yourself just like about the coolest little vacuum cleaner for inside of your van.
08:58So I'm a big fan of these. All right so as I move to the bed I want to point
09:06out
09:07our format. So this format right here is called the loft. This is an east west sleeping loft. So
09:14our new format system with Sequoia and Salt and you can visit our website. It'll be nice and clear on
09:20there. There's a build calculator. There's a floor planner. There's all these things that will help
09:24you design the van. But the way that we see it these days is the way your orientation of your
09:30bed
09:30starts. So this is an east west sleeping bed. So in front of the bed you only have so much
09:35space
09:35to the back of the seat or to our trims. So every single van starts with two galleys that run
09:45full
09:45length. Two upper cabinets above the galleys. Then there's adjustments that you can make. Our new system
09:53you can change out you know these drawers and have to pull out shelves if you want. There's a lot
10:02of
10:02different orientations that we can run within the space now that we know that this is how wide it's
10:07going to be. So for this customer they added this pantry. So normally there's an upper cabinet here
10:12but they want to have some added value some added space in the area so we added the pantry section.
10:18It's still the same amount of cabinetry the same amount of length. This is just the added addition that
10:22came with their van. So I can explain it more if you reach out to me but I don't want
10:28to confuse you
10:28guys. So let's move back to the bed. So we have two lounges underneath. This is not a sleeper. This
10:35is not
10:35a sleeper for four. For this orientation this elevator bed needs to sit all the way down for
10:44for you to sleep in this orientation. So you can't actually sleep underneath here. So we get that
10:49question a lot. This is for two people. So let me show you how this works. If you wanted to
10:57if you
10:58want to like day lounge and not use this bed you would open up this drawer right here. This slide
11:04out
11:05cabinet and it acts as both a storage or in the rear side you have your bamboo pieces that fill
11:14in the
11:14middle of your bed here and then these rear cushions like in every single one of our elevator beds is
11:19what's going to fill in the middle. Okay so it's pretty engineered and then I'm going to take this
11:26out I'm going to show you how the elevator bed works. Oh you know what before we get there
11:36I'm going to tell you a little bit about the behind the scenes of what happens in Patrick's videos. Okay
11:42so if you guys you guys all know Patrick we all love him but while he's filming he likes to
11:47point to things
11:48and you realize that you didn't show the customer everything yet and like that I have to just
11:57stop what I'm doing and show you what's inside of my cabinets. All right so cool so we have our
12:06hot water
12:06system this is the hot water heater. We went with a small tank in the back here and then this
12:12is all the
12:13PEX fittings and then our water tank which is really nice in all of our water tanks we give you
12:20an access panel so that you can clean them out. Everything has air valves built into it so you can
12:26winterize in between uses because we know that our customers like traveling in the winter time not just
12:32in the summertime. All right put these back now I'm going to show you this side and then I'm going
12:40to
12:40show you the bed. Marine snaps on the back of all of our cushions so these things don't fall down
12:46when
12:46you're driving. This is our power system looks a little dusty that's just because it just came out of
13:00production but we have a 460 amp hour lithium battery our multi plus 3000 watt inverter our servo
13:10all this fun stuff nice and clean we like to add a specialty vent so that sucks all the air
13:17the hot air
13:18out of the van while you're using your system so it's not going to overheat. Like I said everything
13:25is nice and tidy in our systems so it makes it a lot easier if there needs to be any
13:31sort of service
13:33it allows other builders uh our network of of um maintenance what am I trying to say here
13:44service network service network that's what I'm trying to say I'm trying to do something and okay
13:51cool all right so now oh wait hold on gosh this is this video is gonna be so long
13:59we have our two pill windows I don't even said I don't think I don't remember saying it outside but
14:03we have two pill windows one thing that we added this is kind of new we want to test this
14:08out so we
14:08added two of these um fans so there's one on each side what's cool about these fans we did a
14:15little
14:15quick connection port so you don't have to have them in and you can just take them out during the
14:21daytime and in the winter and at nighttime you can just slide it in right here and you just lock
14:26it off
14:26and so we have one fan that's pulling here and one fan that's pushing here
14:32how cool is that and they can stay in with the window just like that
14:38that's pretty hot I think this is an awesome option for customers
14:43because you you feel the airflow throughout this cabin because not everyone wants to sit here
14:50and keep your ac on all the time so this is a nice option
14:54all right all right so now let's move into the elevator bed
15:08great so now that our elevator bed is down
15:13we have these little flip downs that are built into the the jams and create the connection
15:20in between the elevator bed
15:26same thing with this side
15:35real easy
15:38we got these custom mattresses made now
15:42just like that you have a nice comfy mattress
15:47and this is a 60 inch mattress and it's pretty awesome
15:55this is pretty cool because these extra bump outs here really add the length that you're going to need
16:03if you're over six feet tall to sleep in this bed and you're not compromising on the width
16:08this is about the width of a queen-size bed in the house
16:11yeah wow you had some lights here on the ceiling
16:15and lights underneath the bed that we saw you turn on and off
16:20pretty awesome build i don't know what else to say other than wow
16:24yeah it's so it's a small van it gives you every function that you're looking for
16:29i mean listen we do interior bathrooms but we we focus on uh doing stuff like that in the 170
16:37and
16:37above vans those you have more space we feel like there's only so much you can put inside of a
16:42144
16:42and i feel like we maximize the space and gave you all those creature comfort you're looking for with
16:47a little bit of adjustment in it um i think this this layout's a grand slam i really i really
16:53like
16:53this layout i think it's very comfortable and it's uh it's easy to use well i'll put a link in
16:59the description to your website your new website yes so they can build one themselves and figure out
17:05pricing and all the rest of details this is patrick with new jersey's outdoor adventures youtube channel
17:12thanks for joining us all right
