00:09great option for a customer who who wants to take their home on the road this

00:19have Chris with Sequoia and Salt back on the show today he's gonna give us a tour
00:23of their newest creation called the Abyss and this thing has everything so
00:28join us for the tour what's going on Patrick Chris here from Sequoia and Salt
00:33camper vans behind me I have a brand new camper that we just finished for a
00:37customer called the Abyss it's on a Mercedes Sprinter 170 all-wheel drive
00:43chassis it has all of the bells and whistles you're gonna want for overlanding so
00:48let's start on the outside of the van we have our nice running boards those are
00:54from Rome built we added some black Rhino 17 inch rims with KO 3 tires we want
01:00the Falcon suspension kit that's from van compass the 4.3 we added Baja design
01:05ditch lights Baja design LP 6 is up top with both amber and white light we went
01:14with the 9 inch LP 9s in our bumper this is a again a Rome built bumper really
01:20great it's got a 12,000 pound winch from Warren in the front as you walk over to
01:27the side you're gonna notice again the running boards we added ARB air compressor
01:32kit on both sides of the van so you can easily just air down the sides and then
01:37just inflate this the tires as we go up this is a nice big roof deck we have 400
01:46watts of solar on the roof we have I'll let you get up here so we have 400 watts
01:52of solar this is a FVC Safari roof rack we have a Dometic RTX 2000 12 volt AC unit
02:00we have a a Starlink mini and then a nice big skylight above the bed and if you
02:09notice what's really nice about this Safari roof rack from Flatline Vanco it has L
02:15track clips throughout it for tons of mountability all right coming down
02:22hopefully I don't blow off the roof here we wanted to on that roof there we
02:29wanted to add we wanted the way we set up our solar panels we wanted to leave the
02:34customer a nice roof deck up there so she could climb out of her window her hatch
02:39window and set up on the roof so we added windows throughout this is the bunk
02:44window from van windows direct we have shore power adapter on the side of the
02:49van that comes standard underneath the camper we added a skid guard rate on the
02:56the rear differential in the back of the van you'll see the Flatline Vanco
03:02rear tire carrier with the accessory ladder all built into one a nice big tire like
03:09you saw another mounting plate from Flatline Vanco and the Rome built large box nice
03:14storage box on the inside here or right on the outside rather as I open up we
03:22added a curt tow hitch receiver a wolf box camera up top which is right above the
03:30reverse camera that comes standard with the Mercedes Sprinter screens on both the
03:34sliding door and the rear doors so you'll notice in the back we have our blackout shades these are
03:39made by van made gear we have some rear door panels which some extra storage this is great
03:45extra storage especially if you want to bring your camera and some batteries along or your flip
03:49flops so you all put them in here this is made from van essentials you'll see our awning pole
03:55we mount it to the top that's the elevator bed that's that's in its up position and down here we
04:00have our exterior hot water shower this is our mixing valve and this is our quick connection
04:05port for a shower and our water pump obviously right in the middle you'll notice we have a drawer
04:12our floor this is our airplane floor this is a lawn lawn ridge floor on this side here this is
04:20our
04:2012 volt fuse panel and breaker panel all built into one our walls we added go code trim on the
04:29outside
04:29we feel that this is a really nice trim and like I said before we have screens these are from
04:34bug
04:35bug wall I believe the company is that makes these screens so they're really nice all right so let's go
04:40inside and obviously the rear outlet for your exterior accessories if you want to pull up on this side of
04:49the
04:49van you will notice our exterior water fill this is great so you don't get any water bleeding inside
04:53of your camper when you if you accidentally forget when you're filling it up our bunk windows in front of
04:59our bunk winds we have our slider windows from van windows direct our fiamma f45 awning which then
05:06brings us into oh yeah and the awning clips that are on the side of the vehicle we have a
05:12bungee nice
05:13little bungee storage as you walk in drop down table with magnet nice little grab when you walk inside of
05:23the
05:26cabin pop up countertop extension we add a nice little magnet as well so it doesn't dangle around
05:32dual swivel seats this is very standard in a lot of our vans above that we have our
05:39drape this is your headliner shelf with the drape built into it so it's easy to just black out
05:47you know just drop that when you need to go to the bathroom on the road or if you don't
05:50feel like
05:51putting up your blackout shades okay so in the front here you'll see we have our wolf box this is
05:58our wolf box monitor and then we have our s pod our s pod has all of our lights in
06:04this switch panel
06:04along with our air compressor okay so i'm walking back into the cabin
06:11this is our our galley galley number one tons of overhead compartment space
06:18this is our power system so we have a victron energy 600 amp hour lithium system along with 35
06:28gallons of fresh water we have 20 gallons of gray water this has 400 watts of solar and a 3000
06:35watt
06:35inverter system it's got 12 volt for the ac for the starlink in the inside and then we have our
06:43accessory
06:44switches for our lights right all built inside of here you'll see we have our self-supporting hinges
06:50and then our hard shell laminate i really like this laminate it has a nice texture to it so it
06:55has a feeling not only does it look cool you can see appreciate all of our trim work that we
07:02do inside
07:02of the vans this is all imported bamboo we finish all the imported bamboo right in the center here we
07:08have
07:08our dometic rtx 2000 ac unit okay brings us into our our bathroom so this bathroom we have a quick
07:18connect
07:18shower system so you can use this shower head for the exterior shower as well as the interior shower from
07:24a quick connect function we added a grab handle as you get in max air dome vent fan with the
07:31light
07:33and then on the floor here we have notice down
07:40bag toilet so this toilet has 50 bags in its cartridge it takes 100 seconds for it to fully
07:48seal the bag and then drop it down we our customers absolutely love these toilets it it changes camper
07:55vans as we know it because the toilet if you have a camper you know the toilet is the stinky
08:00part so
08:00we like to give you extra space inside of the cabin or inside of the shower so we put inside
08:07we have a
08:08nautilus shower door
08:13let's go through the bottom of galley so we added these nice little locking clips so if you have some
08:20heavier items inside they're not going to open up the door
08:32this customer is a foodie so she has all sorts of storage for everything she plans on bringing with her
08:45and then on the bottom here a ton of space underneath if you see on the bottom here we add
08:55accessibility
08:55our entire van has accessibility for service very very important to us you can take off the panels
09:03on any part of this van and you can access all the wiring throughout the van serviceability is
09:09pretty straightforward with us because we understand a camper that's going to be on the road at some
09:14point needs to have some kind of serviced onto it we added some toe kick lighting and then that toe
09:19kick
09:19lighting is connected to our lights underneath our cabinets and then our lights in the bed section
09:26can you see that over there okay so now like they're all built on dimmers so what we did was
09:32we know that at night time you might not want to sleep with these on but you might want to
09:35sleep with
09:36just the lights on the bottom i've said in my previous videos i'm like a huge fan of cutting up
09:41the
09:41light inside of a camper so we added a cutoff switch here so it cuts off these lights here and
09:46adds and
09:47just keeps the lights on the bottom so at night time you can keep turn this off and just have
09:51your kick
09:51lights on all right we went with our marine our marine ship lap that we make in house we have
10:00a
10:00this is an aqua hot 125d which is a hydronic water heater so it's a hydronic system it's uh instantly
10:08hot
10:09and it has not only heat but it has hot water all built into the same unit obviously you see
10:14we have
10:14an outlet over here we have an outlet on this side these two are false doors because this is going
10:20to have where our toilet slides out above here when you pull this this is our induction stove top the
10:27customer didn't want to have it on the counter so we just built it and put inside the drawer so
10:31above
10:31the induction drawer we have our pantry we put adjustable shelf pits with inside of this pantry so
10:38depending on what the customer plans i'm bringing she can actually change the height of the shelves in
10:44here over here we have an extra nice big overhead locker bamboo countertops so on both sides of our
10:54galleys you'll notice that we engraved some really cool uh artwork on the back walls brings us into our
11:01isotherm 160 which is a huge refrigerator and a huge fridge and a huge freezer like i said this customer
11:11is a foodie so she says she's going to be planning to cook all of her meals inside this van
11:15so she
11:16wanted some good space all right so before we head in the back i want to call show you a
11:21cool little
11:21drawer we added so we gave the customer drawers on both sides of this step so as we go into
11:30our lounge
11:30this is a convertible lounge so that's why we added this strip here originally was just so that this table
11:35and extra pieces of wood can fill in the middle and this becomes a nice big uh sleeper so all
11:43of the
11:44the middle pieces of uh wood are all stored right in here and then we added some little hooks so
11:49it
11:49makes it easy to get them in and out so this is a sumbrella fabric and on the bottom you
11:55can see we
11:56added our non-stick so this thing does not slide around when we're hanging out in it they're three inch
12:00cushions on the bottom of the bed we continued our bamboo ceiling on the bottom and we added some
12:08dimmable puck lights so a very popular option that customers add to their camper vans these days is
12:15this road vac it's a flush mounted vacuum cleaner we put it in one customer's van and made it to
12:22this
12:22channel and since then everyone wants one in their van and i think it really changes the game
12:26all right so as i walk if i slide back here we have slider windows if i move back here
12:33we have
12:33slider windows um you know our bamboo trims i'm gonna let me show you our water system here
12:44okay so this is a 35 gallon so this is a 35 gallon water tank right here we add a
12:51port hole so it makes
12:53it nice and easy after a while it probably makes sense for you to try to clean out the inside
12:56of your tank you don't want uh some customers they don't use their water too often so it just sits
13:01there stagnant so and then as i move down you'll see we have our aqua hot 125d unit in the
13:08back here
13:09we add our signature blow off port so this port right here allows you to blow all the water out
13:15of
13:15your system so our customers don't have they can winterize in between uses they don't have to sit
13:20there and winterize for the entire season we have our heater kick right here so we have two heater
13:27kicks inside of this fan which makes it really nice so if you're in the lounge you can have the
13:31heat
13:31at a separate temperature back here and hotter in the front if you want our standard lagoon table
13:38you've seen them and then on this side is our power system so i'm gonna just let me just take
13:45this off
13:45real quick okay great so then our power system on the inside here you see how everything is you know
13:53the detail and this being inset and nice and flush it's all about detail for us so this is our
14:00power
14:00system there's a 600 amp hours of lithium battery power there's our full victron system and then one
14:11thing that we just started implementing is adding this fan that blows the air directly down underneath
14:17the van and a specialty port so that you can't get any water inside coming upwards that really helps
14:23cool down the system when it gets hot and then the front we took the extra space that was left
14:28over
14:29and we added it just so the customer has another bin storage all right so this lagoon table
14:38becomes a bed i'm going to put it right here
15:06all right and then that
15:09is one big big bed and remember like you've heard me saying some of the previous videos i'm six
15:16foot four but today i'm five foot eight and it's it is still feels very big okay so now let
15:24me show you
15:25the amazing part about this van is this drop down
15:33so what we did we brought the drop down really really low so it makes it easier for a customer
15:41to
15:41get on the bed
15:45so in the inside here you'll see our big skylight we added our gooseneck lights with dimmers built into
15:53them and then usb ports on the bottom of our lights so and this lives up to the ceiling and
15:59it's great
16:00because you have your windows on the sides here so you have that and then you also have your nice
16:05skylight that has an integrated screen an integrated blackout shade and even has a really bright very
16:12bright light just in case you need to do surgery all right and then as i
16:21okay okay so one of the things we added as well is if the customer plans on having
16:28any extra visitors we added an accessory ladder here
16:36so this ladder gives the customer an opportunity if she plans on having some guests if she has grandkids
16:43you know friends coming and staying they can sleep under here in that nice king size bed and
16:48she can sleep above it's like a bunk bed set up and this ladder makes that that uh possible and
16:54this ladder stores in the front of the shower section so it's easy to store away so she could
16:59choose if she's just by herself she might want this bed to go all the way down and it makes
17:03it easier
17:03to get in and out of bed or if she's with people she can have a bunk bed set up
17:08this is really cool
17:09this is uh what i call a foodie van right so it's got plenty of counter space plenty of kitchen
17:14stores
17:15nice size fridge and freezer you got the bathroom with the toilet and you have options to seat uh
17:22four people or more and sleep up to four people it's pretty cool nice build here and i think it
17:28has
17:28every single option i get to see on the outside what is it missing i don't i don't know what
17:33it's missing
17:34maybe like a like a peloton bike in the inside might be uh about the only thing but yeah this
17:39van is
17:39totally it's almost fully modified um this is a you know this is a great option for a customer who
17:46who wants to take their you know their their home on the road you know they want to test everything
17:51out and they have the ability it won't slow them down and they feel those this has a lot of
17:55comforts
