00:03Back here at Ready, Set, Van in Trenton, New Jersey.
00:06Today Ben is going to give us a tour of their Hudson model.
00:09And this Sprinter literally has everything.
00:12He's going to give us a full tour inside now.
00:14So join us.
00:17Hey Patrick, thanks for coming back.
00:18I am so excited to show you this van.
00:21What this client did with this van was pretty incredible.
00:24He checked just about everything.
00:25What he doesn't realize is what he did was he basically built my dream van.
00:29I am so excited about this van.
00:30I wish it was mine, but I'm really excited to show it to you.
00:33So I will start by just kind of walking around the outside here first.
00:36And one of the most important things is this suspension and tire setup.
00:40These are Agile Overlander wheels with open country AT tires.
00:44This is like a 32 inch equivalent.
00:46And then we've got Performance Elite suspension made by Agile.
00:50That suspension system, hands down, the best suspension system we've put
00:54on one of these Sprinter 170 chassis.
00:56This is an all wheel drive chassis.
00:57That with the suspension is like insanely capable.
01:01I've taken this out in the woods and it's just a darn good time.
01:05One of the things we did because he's planning on taking this out in the woods and everything,
01:09we bedlined the whole van.
01:10So we bedlined the hood and then basically from the kind of waist on down.
01:15And that offers just a lot of protection.
01:16It looks really sweet too, and it's going to last a long time.
01:20So that's really nice.
01:21Up here on the hood, we've got these little ditch lights,
01:24these little pod ditch lights that are really nice.
01:27They're kind of tucked in and I really like the way they look.
01:30And we've got an antenna over here.
01:32He's got a GMRS radio.
01:34So that's for that.
01:35And then coming down the front here, we've got obviously this huge bumper.
01:39So this is a CA tuned bumper with the 10,000 pound worn winch on board.
01:44Got a shackle.
01:45We got underneath, we've got engine skid plating by Romebuilt.
01:49That's a really nice skid plate.
01:50I like that a lot.
01:51And then of course mounted to the bumper here, we've got a set of LP9 pros.
01:55These are pros.
01:56So they will go up and down with your high beams and low beams.
01:59And they put out just an absolute massive amount of light.
02:02Right over here, we've got fog lights.
02:04These are aftermarket fog lights that we put in from Baja.
02:06And then up top, we've got a huge double row.
02:09I got to even remember it, 300 watt LED bar.
02:13That thing is just like the sun when you turn it on.
02:15It's kind of crazy.
02:17On both sides of the van, we've got OWL sidesteps.
02:21These sidesteps are fantastic.
02:23And you just get a short little one on this side.
02:26One thing you can't see underneath here is we've got an extended range fuel tank here.
02:31So it's almost twice the size of the standard fuel tank.
02:34Along with skid plating and everything underneath.
02:38On the outside here, we've got this awning window, which you'll see on the inside.
02:41And we've got an OWL ladder on the side.
02:45The OWL ladder is really nice because it's really beefy.
02:47It has these nice square steps.
02:48And that takes us up to the Orion roof rack.
02:51Which up there, we've got 350 watts of solar, our AC unit, the max fan.
02:56He's got Starlink on board.
02:59And I don't know, I'm probably forgetting something else.
03:00Once again, we've got our wheels and tires and suspension.
03:02This suspension just is absolutely incredible.
03:04One of the things about the suspension that is no joke is we replaced the entire leaf spring.
03:09So this entire unit right here comes out from factory and we put in a full, properly tuned leaf.
03:16It's amazing.
03:18Of course, we've got our 30 amp shore charging.
03:20He's more or less never going to need that because he's got tons of alternator charging and all the everything
03:25else.
03:26We've got an aftermarket bumper here.
03:29And over here, we've got the rear door.
03:32This is the OWL tire carrier and ladder combo.
03:36And that's just awesome.
03:38It's just a great unit.
03:40And then, of course, right here we have the, what is this?
03:44This is the Illuminous Power Lift system.
03:47We've put a few of these on at this point.
03:49It's pretty fantastic.
03:50It's really solidly built.
03:52This is the handle that opens the rear door.
03:55Very solid.
03:56Works really well.
03:58We put with our Expedition box here.
04:00So, you know, that's a nice amount of storage as well.
04:03And of course, you have nice tie down points and things on the side.
04:07And then what makes this thing pretty incredible is this whole system goes up and down.
04:11So it runs off of just any DeWalt battery.
04:14And if I just press this button here.
04:16Oh, I almost forgot.
04:17I got to release the lock and press the button.
04:35And just like that, you've got this awesome bike lift.
04:38That's come all the way down to a height that you can actually work with.
04:41One of the problems with having the kind of standard setup on a Sprinter,
04:44where the bike's up high so you can get it over your spare tire,
04:47is that like if you had an e-bike that weighs 70 pounds and you're trying to get it up
04:50there,
04:50there's no chance.
04:51At least here, you can get it up on here.
04:54And I think this is just a completely awesome invention that they came up with.
04:59And it's super fantastic.
05:01Coming down the side here, we've got this on both sides of the van.
05:04These are storage lockers.
05:06They're built into the body of the van.
05:08It's really nice.
05:09We've got our air line here.
05:11That's connected to the air compressor that's on board.
05:14So he's got an air compressor under the hood.
05:16That's going to make it really easy for him to air up and air down these tires.
05:20These tires have what's called a rapid deflate valve on them.
05:23So you can pop this thing.
05:24You can air down your tires in like 10 or 15 seconds.
05:27It's remarkable.
05:30But if you do that, you're going to want to be able to pump it back up.
05:32So the air compressor on board is going to make that possible.
05:35And that's why he's got his airline stored in there.
05:40And then coming down the side here, we've got scene lights.
05:43I didn't point them out going around, but we have scene lights on all sides of the van.
05:46That's just a nice way to just, you know, have some light all around the van,
05:49whether you're driving and parking and you want to be able to see around you
05:52or whether you just want some light on, you know, at camp.
05:55And then also we've got the Fiamm awning up top.
05:58That's going to extend out and create a lot of nice shade.

06:04And, and then of course the other matching running board here.
06:08This is the Al sidestep on the outside of our kitchen.
06:11So our Hudson model has this amazing kitchen and it has this awesome outside set up here.
06:18And one of the things that I love about this is just this whole,
06:22this whole fold down table.
06:24It's just really nice.
06:25This is an acrylic hardwood sandwich that we make here.
06:28We've got a cutting board right here.
06:30We've got an led light that creates a nice soft light here.
06:33And then magnets built in to keep the whole thing tucked away when you're not using,
06:37which is really nice.
06:38There's a little bit of extra storage in here.
06:39So you can put some, some knickknacks and of course 110 charging there.
06:43There's some USB charging right here.
06:45And then this is the dimmer switch for that light on the outside.
06:49On the floor in here, since before we go inside,
06:52he decided to go with a hardwood floor.
06:55So this is actually an Acacia floor.
06:57Uh, we've put this in tons of vans.
06:59It's incredibly durable.
07:00It's just looks wonderful.
07:02And, um, yeah, I don't know.
07:04I love it.
07:04I have this in my van and it's been, it's been fantastic.
07:07Uh, one other thing here that's worth pointing out is this leaf.
07:10So our design for when we do a leaf is instead of using latching sort of ratcheting fold up things,
07:17we use this, uh, heavy duty drawer slide.
07:19It's very minimized and it's incredibly strong.
07:21This thing is really solid and, um, uh, I'll show you the kitchen in a minute,
07:27but once you come inside and we can show you the front here.
07:29So he opted to go with a set of Schilmann seats.
07:32These are like the most deluxe seats, uh, you know, anyone can get.
07:36They are, they're pretty fantastic.
07:38You got them in this nice brown color.
07:40Um, and, uh, they're on aftermarket swivels and they're just fantastic.
07:44We, up top here, we've got our controls for exterior lighting.
07:48Um, that's all controlled through a switch pro, which is a fantastic system.
07:51And of course his GMRS radios right there.
07:54And then over here next to the GMRS radio is Sonos speakers.
07:58So we've got two Sonos speakers mounted up here in the cab,
08:00and then you'll see we've got two more in the back.
08:03Uh, we put, uh, an aftermarket shelf in here, which is really fantastic.
08:08Uh, you know, in a sprinter, you have all this space up here that otherwise is unused.
08:11And this is a huge amount of storage.
08:13So that's really nice.
08:14And of course, we've got two nice overheads here.
08:16You know, he went with a walnut, uh, finish on the interior and you'll see that throughout.
08:20Uh, but you can see also all of our doors are grain matched like this.
08:23That just is a nice, uh, aesthetic, uh, improvement.
08:27And, um, and then we got a, a microwave inside here.
08:30So it's one of the things we like to do is just to sort of hide the microwave away
08:34where people aren't really going to see it that much.
08:36Uh, because microwaves in my opinion are not that attractive.
08:39Um, he also asked for an insulated curtain here, which I think is a great idea.
08:43That just pulls across.
08:45He could also remove this if it's in the way.
08:46Um, and that's really nice.
08:48Um, on the underside of the overhead, he asked for L-Track.
08:52So we've got L-Track mounted up under here.
08:53Uh, so he can attach whatever he wants to here.
08:56And then also we've got a recessed, uh, linear LED in here that's controlled by, uh, this
09:02dimmer switch right here.
09:03So, um, on the left, we've got, uh, this huge window.
09:07I love this huge window because it's, well, just cause it's huge.
09:11And, um, sitting here with this huge window open is like the best thing in the world.
09:17And in fact, I think this experience right here is why at the beginning I said,
09:20this is like, this is my favorite van.
09:21Cause this experience is just, is the best.
09:24I just love it.
09:25Um, this window also comes with a built-in, uh, you know, a built-in bug screen and then
09:30a built-in shade here.
09:31So it's really nice, you know, with the walnut finishes, he got a, uh, walnut butcher block
09:36counter or walnut butcher block, uh, dinette table.
09:39This of course matches the countertop.
09:41Um, and then underneath here, we've got additional power and charging solutions for 12 volt or USB,
09:47et cetera.
09:47Uh, he chose to go with a blue, um, cushion, uh, color here, which I think is actually,
09:53aesthetically, I think it's just really sharp with the brown and the white.
09:56I don't know.
09:56I like it.
09:57Um, underneath, we've got more storage down here.
10:00One of the things that, um, is true about all of the drawers in this van, um, is that they
10:05all have
10:06what, uh, we developed here was an electronic locking system that it's automatic.
10:10Whenever you turn on the van, there's an electromagnet behind all the doors in the kitchen as well
10:14that lock automatically just by the power coming off of the van.
10:17Um, so what's nice is that you don't have to latch anything or worry about like,
10:21when you start moving like, oh, did I, did I latch that thing or close that thing?
10:24It all happens automatically, which is super nice.
10:28Um, so you can see when this is up, we have an absolutely massive kitchen.
10:33This is over six feet long.
10:34It is just incredible.
10:36Um, we have a, you know, grain matched, uh, cutting board here.
10:40Of course, we've got a 15 by 15 sink.
10:42Um, you know, this, one of those spraying guys there.
10:45And then, um, you know, we've got a single induction cooktop here.
10:48Um, you know, and then some people will do a single built-in and then combine that with a
10:53portable induction as well, which is a really nice combo.
10:55It kind of gives you the flexibility.
10:56You can also use the second one outside if you want.
10:59So that's what I would do in my van.
11:01Um, of course, we got our controls over here.
11:03These are all our, our dimmers and so on.
11:06Got 12 volts here, um, 110 outlet here.
11:09This is a bypass switch to disable those automatic locks I was talking about.
11:12This is a switch for our water heater and then, um, our air heater here.
11:17And of course, we've got all our stuff for the electrical system and systems monitoring, um, in here.
11:23Um, under the kitchen here, we've got a whole bunch of stuff here.
11:26So we've got a trash can here with some controls next to it.
11:29And then, uh, we've got lots of drawers, um, just tons and tons of drawers.
11:36You know, all the way down.
11:36This is a special door right here.
11:38So this drawer, um, this drawer right here is rated for hundreds of pounds,
11:43probably 300 pounds or something like that.
11:45And it's designed to be stepped on right here so that to make it easy for you to get up
11:49into the bed.
11:49And it's just so it's literally just a platform you to step on, but then of course also a drawer.
11:53So there's storage under there as well.
11:55So, um, of course it locks out.
11:57So you have to latch it to close it.
11:58And then we've got our fridge here.
12:00This is a Dometic, um, uh, 80 liter unit, and we just love this fridge.
12:05It's been, it's just been super.
12:07One of the things that's really nice that we can do in the Hudson,
12:11because the Hudson is the biggest van that we build on, you know, it's the Sprinter 170.
12:14It's not the extended 170, um, but it's much bigger.
12:18And so we have more space.
12:19And so, um, when they choose not to do an automotive seat here, which is an option,
12:23and they choose to go with this type of seat, we end up with an extra eight inches right here.
12:28And one of that, you know, that, what, what that means is that we can then create this just really
12:33fantastic double pantry setup, which is just our clients who have it absolutely love it.
12:40Um, and of course that locks in with the automatic locks I was talking about as well.
12:43So, um, of course right here we have, uh, our huge showers.
12:47So that's the other thing about the Hudson is like, it's an extra big shower.
12:51I believe it's 36 inches in this direction.
12:53And, um, it's just really nice.
12:55It has our acrylic interior with our stainless pan and teak floor.
12:59And of course he chose to go with the Klasana toilet, uh, which is a great toilet.
13:04It's a, um, one of those ceiling toilets that, um, you know, that work really well.
13:08And I think are, uh, kind of in vogue at the moment.
13:10So, um, coming along this side, well, actually, before I come down the side here,
13:14right above me is the max fan.
13:16So, uh, we placed the max fan here, which is a little different than most, uh, other builders.
13:21Um, but we like it here because it's right over where we cook.
13:24And it's also right over where we shower.
13:27So it's the perfect place to just evacuate any of that kind of moist air.
13:30Um, and then also over the side here, we wrap all of our pillars here in this nice fabric.
13:35So it's just a nice finishing trim.
13:37Uh, that kind of goes nicely with our wall and our ceiling treatments,
13:40which is just a very, very finely finished, um, half inch lightweight ply that we use on all
13:46of the surfaces.
13:47And our goal is really just for it to feel like, uh, your home, like feel like a,
13:52like a beautiful sheet rocked, clean interior.
13:55Um, and that's, that's our objective.
13:57And I think we've, I think we've done that well down the side here,
13:59we've got a whole set of overheads, um, and those are really nice for all kinds of things.
14:05And then we've got a king size bed here.
14:08So this is a RV short queen king mattress.
14:12It's absolutely huge.
14:14Um, you know, what's really nice about this configuration is you're not sleeping
14:18across the van, you're sleeping North South.
14:21And that means nobody has to climb over each other in the middle of the night.
14:24It's just big, luxurious, wonderful.
14:28On this side, we've got a 300 by 700, uh, window.
14:32That's an awning window similar to the dinette.
14:33So it has the same, um, bug screen and shades.
14:36And then the same thing on this side.
14:38So, you know,
14:39having those two windows open will create a tremendous amount of cross breeze,
14:42which is really nice.
14:43And then in the back corners there,
14:45we also have two more Sonos speakers that are mounted on our custom
14:48designed, um, uh, wall mounts.
14:50So those actually have charging built in.
14:52It's a wifi charging base.
14:54So you can just pop those speakers out anytime you want.
14:56They'll be fully charged.
14:57If you want to pop this out and use them around camp, um, then that's, then that's great.
15:00We've got a little room down the side here, um, where, uh, you know,
15:04you can also have a little extra storage and things.
15:07And then also down the end here, uh, we've got, uh, some USB charging
15:12locations right next to the bed, along with the, uh, the bedside reading lights.
15:16So, uh, above we've got the AC unit.
15:18We love having it, um, located over the bed.
15:20It's like, if you come back to your van and you're all hot and sweaty,
15:23just being able to lie down and get blasted with air conditioning,
15:25it is kind of one of the best things.
15:27Uh, of course we also across the back there have that same, uh, fabric wrapped trim, uh,
15:32all around, uh, the walls there.
15:34And then, and again, a whole nother set of overheads here as well.
15:37So really, really, um, super.
15:39I want to show you one feature before we go back to the garage, which is this.
15:43And I love this.
15:45This was, um, we were looking for a really great door solution.
15:48I think came up with, uh, what's something that I'm very proud of.
15:50This is a sliding aluminum door.
15:53Um, this is an absolutely wonderful thing.
15:56We can do this either solid or ventilated.
15:58We often do it ventilated if people are going to be traveling with pets
16:01and it locks with magnets in either location.
16:03So it's, it's a nice solution.
16:05And it's nice that it just gets completely out of the way, uh, when you're not using it.
16:09So it's not a swinging door and I don't know, it's, uh, it's been great.
16:13So let's go around back here and let's take a look inside the garage.
16:19I actually don't know if you can open this with this on here.
16:22That's kind of wild, but there we go.
16:27All right.
16:27And here we are in the back.
16:29I forgot to mention on the side, we also have roll-off slides, uh, in the slider door.
16:33Um, and, uh, these are nicely fitted.
16:36Uh, they will be bug screens.
16:38You can also see them as blackout shades.
16:39Um, and, um, yeah, they're, they're pretty fantastic.
16:43The garage in this thing is huge.
16:45So because we have that huge bed up top, we have this huge garage down below.
16:49And we have this bed slide, which comes all the way out.
16:54So you can pull your entire garage all the way out, get to the stuff that's in the back
16:57of your garage.
16:59No problem at all.
17:00Pack it all up, make sure everything's the way you want it.
17:02And then just slide back in so easy.
17:07It's pretty fantastic.
17:08We have, uh, all plumbing down on this side.
17:10So I think, uh, I'm not exactly sure.
17:13I think he has 40 gallons on board.
17:14There's a lot of water.
17:15Um, and, uh, we've got our four gallon water heater, uh, we've got outdoor shower set up
17:20here.
17:21So this, you know, it's got a hot water as well, use the same, everything else.
17:24Um, and then, um, over here on this side, we've got our, uh, electrical cabinet.
17:30So, uh, he's got about a thousand amp hours on board, a 3000 watt inverter, 350 Watts of solar
17:36on the roof, uh, alternator charging, all the things like there's really, there's nothing,
17:41there's nothing this van doesn't have.
17:42Um, uh, we've got 110 outlet charger here, 12 volt, uh, two USBs, a disconnect switch,
17:49and of course, uh, RSV number 194.
17:51So that's us.
17:52So thanks for being here.

17:56This really is my dream van.
17:58Uh, and, uh, yeah, thanks a lot.
18:00I love it too.
18:01I'm, I'm about the features and details and man, this is, I have a luminous rear carrier
18:09with the one-up rack and I lift that thing up and it's, sometimes it's tough to get the bike
18:14up there.
18:15Yeah.
18:15Uh, depending on what you're standing on, this just makes it so much easier,
18:19especially with the heavier e-bike now, e-mountain bike.
18:21Yeah.
18:22Those things are 46, 56, 66 pounds.
18:25It's not like a 20 pound mountain bike anymore.
18:27Right.
18:27So that's going to make it a lot easier.
18:29One thing about the electric locks that you don't realize until you're out there.
18:35If someone wants to sleep in normal RV latches, they make such a loud clump
18:40every time you open and close the cabinet, this cabinet just closes like a normal cabinet.
18:45And then it locks off the electric when you, I guess, turn the engine on.
18:49That's how it works.
18:49Yeah, that's right.
18:50Yeah.
18:50And they close with, uh, with regular household, uh, you know, soft close, uh, drawer slides.
18:55So it's really nice.
18:56Like it feels like a home, um, and then they lock you when you turn on the van,
19:01you'll hear a little click of them all snapping into place.
19:04And that's about it.
19:05Yeah.
19:05It's nice.
19:05Like the rest of the time when you're opening and closing cabinet doors, it's silent.
19:09Yeah.
