00:00All right, as far as getting drained and stuff, I was, you know, listen, everybody was, I think people are
00:04a little bit harsh with Jillian, but she froze, bro, right?
00:10She froze.
00:11Like, I've been around a lot of fighters who told me, like, it's not like choking, but you know what
00:17I mean, Tom?
00:18Like, their arms feel heavy.
00:20Everything is, like, slow and hard to do, and she wasn't herself.
00:25You saw Robertson in the fourth round and then in the fifth round sort of start to become herself a
00:32bit, at least, right, and fight.
00:34She didn't really fight for the first couple of rounds of the fight, and then did Thomas after, basically throws
00:41her under the bus, says, oh, she's gone as far as she can go, and I'm not going to corner
00:48her anymore.
00:49Well, I don't think, you know, that's a bad thing for her, because he gives the worst corner advice in
00:53the history of corner advice, Tom.
00:55Like, that was absolutely pathetic.
00:58I don't know what was more pathetic, him throwing her under the bus after the fight or his pathetic advice
01:05during the fight, Tom.
01:08Yeah, there really wasn't a lot of advice.
01:11I mean, his whole thing.
01:12Move your feet.
01:12She's about to quit.
01:14You're better than her.
01:16The hell is that?
01:17No, you're not better than her.
01:19Mackenzie Dern's not about to quit.
01:21Dude, where was the real, like, come in low with a jab.
01:25Come in with this.
01:26She doesn't like that.
01:27Like, there was no advice.
01:29No, no.
01:30It was all just kind of narrative stuff.
01:33It really was.
01:34You know, and, yeah, it was weird.
01:37I mean, Jillian, later in that fight, like, you could see Mackenzie was getting a little bit tired.
01:42She was slowing down a bit, but she wasn't, like, cooked.
01:44She wasn't ready to quit by any stretch of the imagination.
01:48But you did see Jillian kind of get a little bit of confidence as the fight went along.
01:53But the problem was she just did so little early in that fight.
01:58And, you know, it's not really necessarily her fault.
02:01She just was a step behind on the striking, which we kind of knew.
02:04I mean, Mackenzie does have better striking.
02:06It's not like Mackenzie's a great striker, but she does have better striking.
02:10Give credit to Mackenzie as well.
02:13She threw the strikes right away, Tom.
02:15Right away.
02:16Yeah.
02:17Like, you know what I mean, guys?
02:18It sounds like cliche and stuff, but a lot of times you see the fighters start, and it started, man.
02:24She, like, boom, boom, boom.
02:26Like, she threw a combination as soon as the fight started.
02:30And she got a head start on Jillian right away, and I could see right away.
02:34I was like, Mackenzie is loose and ready to go.
02:37Looks like a woman who's fought in big fights before.
02:40And Jillian had the deer in the headlights look.
02:43Yeah, exactly.
02:44And, like, if you watch the first couple rounds, it was like Mackenzie fought like somebody who had something to
02:50prove.
02:51And Jillian was just trying to, you know, weather that storm and figure out a way to get in on
02:57takedowns, which she wasn't really having success with, a way to land some strikes, which eventually, you know, later in
03:04the fight, like I said, she did land some strikes.
03:07But, yeah, she just was on the back foot from the beginning of the fight.
03:10I feel like the confidence was taken away.
03:13And, you know, that stuff happens on the big stage.
03:15I mean, you get there, and you fall behind, and it's like, what do I do now?
03:20And then your cornerman's in there saying, ah, she's going first.
03:24And you got to, you know, move your feet, whatever.
03:27Like, yeah, she's out there.
03:29She's moving.
03:29She's trying to do stuff.
03:31But just no actual corner advice.
03:34So, yeah, that whole thing was kind of weird.
03:36Like, you could tell Dean, like, he was frustrated, obviously.
03:39His athlete lost.
03:41And, you know, he's been with her for a long time.
03:43But, yeah, that was an unfortunate thing to see.
03:46Obviously, he came out on his show with Poirier and Masvidal and those guys and, you know, apologized profusely, which
03:54he should.
03:55That's just a crazy, crazy thing to do.
03:58I don't know if he maybe had a couple drinks or something, and he was just, you know, feeling himself
04:03after the fight.
04:03But, yeah, really crazy to kind of throw your athlete under the bus like that when she kind of got
04:10overwhelmed.
