00:00let's talk um mvp uh right now and i'm not talking about michael venom page but the mvp
00:06mma card from this past saturday gina carano and ronda rousey it was much discussed and much
00:14criticized for the most part by many and you know we saw so many people commenting online oh i
00:21wouldn't watch this and um even if i had netflix i wouldn't watch this well evidently a lot of
00:29people lied because 27 million people ended up watching the card absolutely massive number
00:36and we expected it to be a massive number and i actually predicted 25 million so i came very close
00:45with my prediction figuring that anthony joshua and jake paul got 33 million viewers and you know to
00:54put in context the only so the one thing that surprised me about this and the results didn't
00:59surprise me at all we'll get to those in a second but the thing that surprised me was to see
01:03the pay
01:04uh the the payout that ronda got and that gina got and it was a lot less than i thought
01:12it was going to
01:13be uh the state of california is one of the few states that announces salaries they announce it
01:20to the public so you can't hide it and ronda got like 2.2 million dollars and gina carano got
01:27like
01:281.2 million dollars i was shocked by how low those numbers were now i gotta believe that there were
01:34promotional promotional provisions on the side right because they did promo the fight a lot and
01:43yeah so i'm assuming they made a little bit more money than that but i was shocked by the number
01:48and
01:48it's funny because all the talk about jake paul like paying everybody and all and dana white rips
01:53everybody off and the ufc rips everybody off but you just did the same thing you just did the exact
01:59same thing like yeah okay everybody made forty thousand dollars or more so like the prelim mma fighters
02:05made forty thousand dollars and that's more than a low-tier prelim fighter would make uh in a ufc
02:10so the prelim fighters were happy but just to put in context like jake paul got like 120 million dollars
02:19or so for like 123 million or whatever uh for the um the anthony joshua fight anthony joshua got paid
02:27like 90 million dollars uh for that fight then we got six million viewers than ronda and gina did
02:35right they got they got like a you know 3.5 combined million dollars so like i said i gotta
02:42believe they
02:42made a little bit more on the side uh but you know the thing is netflix has 350 million subscribers
02:48right globally so getting 27 million people a little less than 10 percent of people that had netflix
02:54ended up watching it it was like the most viewed event on netflix and for the record it crushed the
03:00ufc it was the lowest viewed ufc event since they've been on paramount paramount had its lowest numbers
03:08now it was kind of a throwaway card but they did get like absolutely slaughtered uh by this card now
03:15a
03:15lot of people will criticize this stuff and say oh it was this or that it was a circus it's
03:19a ripoff and
03:20all this other type of stuff people enjoyed it people in the arena enjoyed it and i love these
03:26cards like they only come like every couple of years or so kind of like like floyd mayweather when
03:32he fought carter mcgregor there was like not a stone cold hell and chance he was going to lose the
03:36fight right it was just one of those automatic bets and gina corana lost 100 pounds good for her but
03:45she kind of got paid to show up and just make weight she was in no shape to be able
03:49to fight
03:50against ronda rousey the fight lasted 17 seconds and we easily cash ronda rousey and under one and a
03:56half easily cash francis naganu under one and a half well that was a little bit scary not scary but
04:03you know it ended late in the first round
