00:00here is how you can insert bullet points to your data set list and the best part is you can
00:04use
00:04any kind of bullet points let me show you how this is done first thing you have to do is
00:08to
00:08select your bullet point character click on your windows start and then after that launch something
00:13called character map this is the standard windows application that everybody has launch it and you
00:18should come up with this pop-up window here if you scroll down a bit here you'll find some characters
00:23you can potentially use for your bullet points like this one here and i'm going to use say for
00:28that for example this dot here and double click on it and click on a copy button here that's how
00:33you
00:33select your character map if you like different kind of character map you just select whichever
00:37character you want once that once you hit the copy here let's go back to your excel spreadsheet here
00:42the next thing you have to do is to apply the bullet points to your data set i'm going to
00:47select my
00:48column b and go home style conditional formatting new rule in here i'm going to select use a formula
00:56and the formula i'm going to use is this equal b1 not equal to blank which means that if it's
01:05not
01:05equal to blank which means if it does have some items in it i'm going to apply this format go
01:10to
01:10format here make sure you are in the number tab here select custom from the category and in here delete
01:18the word general and press ctrl v to paste whatever you copied on your clipboard from the character map
01:24app here and press a space button and put an add symbol like this and after i click ok and
01:31ok one
01:32more time and you'll see that all your data set lists will have a bullet points now now you can
01:39go ahead
01:39and say for example add a few more points here i'm going to say document sign off and maybe finalize
01:45expense expenses like this you can see anytime i add a new entry on my list those bullet points will
01:52be added
01:52now at this point you can also go back and change your bullet point to something else let me show
01:58you
01:58what i mean by that go ahead and launch your character map one more time and let's say this
02:02time around i'm going to put a heart symbol here like this here double click on it let's get rid
02:07of
02:07the old one first double click on it to select it and then click on the copy button here and
02:14then let's go
02:14back to your excel spreadsheet here select your column b or your data set list that you're going to apply
02:19the
02:19bullet point to go and launch your conditional formatting go home style conditional formatting
02:24over here you're going to select manage rules and then double click on the rule that you just added
02:30here so it's now a few minutes ago this is the rule that we added go format make sure your
02:35number tab
02:35on the custom now you're going to replace this black dot or whatever your original bullet point was
02:40with ctrl v whatever you copied on your clipboard here so mine's going to be a heart and click on
02:46ok
02:46ok and one more ok and you can see that the bullet point go updated and just as a test
02:52i'm going to
02:52say maybe just say test one you can see anytime i add a new line the entry will have a
02:58bullet point
