00:00Daily devotional. The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked. Who can know it?
00:07I, the Lord, search the heart. I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways,
00:15according to the fruit of his doings. Jeremiah 17, 9 to 10. Our culture often tells us,
00:24follow your heart. But God's word gives a different warning. Jeremiah reminds us that our hearts can
00:33deceive us. Left to ourselves, our emotions, desires, and reasoning can lead us away from
00:41God's truth rather than toward it. That doesn't mean we should live in fear of our hearts. It means
00:49we should submit them to the Lord. God alone sees what no one else can see. He knows our motives,
00:57our struggles, our hidden sins, and even the desires we don't fully understand ourselves.
01:04The wonderful news is that the God who searches our hearts is also the God who offers grace.
01:11He doesn't reveal what's inside us to shame us, but to transform us. As we spend time in his word,
01:21pray sincerely, and obey his spirit, he shapes our hearts to reflect the character of Christ.
01:28Instead of asking, what does my heart want? Begin asking, Lord, what pleases you? A heart surrendered
01:37to God is far safer than a heart that simply follows its own desires. Heavenly Father, thank you for
01:44knowing me completely. Search my heart and reveal anything that is not pleasing to you. Help me not
01:52to trust my own understanding, but to trust your perfect wisdom and truth. Create in me a clean heart,
02:00strengthen my faith, strengthen my faith, and help me walk in obedience today. In Jesus' name, amen.
02:07What area of your life do you need to surrender to God instead of relying on your own heart or
02:14feelings
02:15today? Today's truth, God sees beyond appearances. When we surrender our hearts to him, he faithfully
02:25transforms us from the inside out. Our hearts don't always tell us the truth, but God's word always
02:33does. Jeremiah 17, 9 to 10 reminds us that God sees beyond what others can see. He knows our thoughts,
02:42motives, struggles, and desires, yet he still offers grace and invites us to surrender our hearts to him.
02:49When we stop following our feelings and start following God's truth, he transforms us from
02:56the inside out. Ask God today, Lord, what pleases you? If this devotional encouraged you, leave an amen in
03:06the comments. Share it with someone who needs this reminder and follow for more daily Bible devotionals and
