00:00Day 23 of building and British inspired village where today we're getting straight to it and
00:04finally building a castle. Now the first thing to do was to clear a space for building and this hill
00:08beside the train track was the perfect spot for it. After clearing the trees and doing some
00:11terraforming I started by planning out the towers and the walls using stone. Now you might be
00:15thinking this seems quite big compared to our village but this is actually inspired by a real
00:19life castle in the village of Framlingham. Now we of course want to be able to walk along the walls
00:23so I made them thicker and added a path above. It was then time to add some texture. Here I've
00:27started with deep slate at the bottom for a weathered look and faded upwards towards
00:31andesite and stone. From here it was time to add the smaller details starting with some leaves and
00:36flowers around the edge and then some arrow slits and larger windows to the walls. Now right now
00:40there's no way to enter the castle so I added a simple gate to one of the towers and then
00:44built
00:44a stone arch bridge over what once was a moat and textured this just like the castle walls.
00:48I then connected it with a dirt path to a new road extension with the same details as before
00:53of course riddled with potholes. I blended it in with some trees and then added a path under the bridge
00:57which I wrapped around the whole castle. Now the real life castle has an old workhouse inside
01:02built a few hundred years after the castle itself which today serves the purpose of a cafe and gift
01:07shop. And obviously the castle today isn't like it once was. We need to add some wear and tear to
01:12make it feel more like ruins so I added holes all over the castle walls using stairs and slabs for
01:17extra
01:17detail. I filled the centre with tables for our guests to sit down and also built a small ticket booth
01:22on the front of the bridge. You can download this castle along with the rest of the village
01:26over on my Patreon and we're done. Well up for day 24.
