00:00Hi, welcome to one of our final training sessions before our big 12-hour fundraising match on the 23rd of
00:08August.
00:09It's brilliant seeing the kids flourish and enjoy their time at Chapel Town.
00:15It's a really wonderful, inclusive club and there's a lot of brilliant, aspiring footballers there.
00:21And I think we could only do them justice by taking them out to an event like the one in
00:27Barcelona.
00:28So to be able to fundraise for it, the 12-hour match was an idea of Jo's and myself.
00:34And we thought we'd try and break a record and make a big thing out of it, get everybody involved.
00:39The whole squad of parents for the team have come together, chipping in with little bits here, little bits there
00:46in the organisation.
00:47Vic's obviously been the linchpin, I would say that because I'm a partner, but she's done an amazing job.
00:52I have not seen her face because there's been a phone in front of it for the last two weeks.
00:56But yeah, it's been, it's just a phenomenal team effort.
00:59And when it all comes together on the day, when we start off with our goal team, the under-13s,
01:04and then we'll blend into the younger kids and then hour by hour, the age of the game will get
01:08older.
01:09Them 13s, I first took over at end of under-7s from my best friend.
01:14Season on season, we've just been building to the point where they're doing really, really well.
01:18They want to cover the full funds for everyone and their families to go to Barcelona for a short amount
01:23of days,
01:24to play them, some top teams out there, experience a new culture, a new footballing culture.
01:30As we know, Spain are the world champions, so they must have something to offer to us for sure.
01:34And whatever teachings and experiences and memories, we can sort of bring back here and hold that as long as
01:40we can.
01:40I've been one of the team for years now, and I love making friends along the way.
01:47And it's nice to train here because it's a good team, good quality.
01:52I've been playing here for about three years now, and I just like training here because it's a good standard
01:58and it just pushes me to my limits every week.
02:00And it just makes me become a professional, like a better footballer each week.
02:05Recently, I just moved up teams from my old team, and to me, this team is like a great sense
02:12of community
02:13because Chapitán is such a big place with loads of people.
02:17I really enjoy training here because the standard's really high, it pushes me.
02:20We've been paying up a year here, and we've been tested quite a lot,
02:24so it'll be a lot more fun to try somewhere else as well in a different country.
02:29I've been here like seven years now, and it's a really good team for developing.
02:35It's getting better, and it's competitive.
02:37Sport in itself is just magnificent for kids.
02:40Being a part of a team, it teaches you structure, it keeps you fit.
02:44And Chapitán particularly, you know, as a team, is wonderful.
02:47It's got a real community spirit.
02:50I think I'm going to do a bit of reffing, a bit of organising,
02:53and whatever the team needs from me, I'm going to step up
02:55because these lot have been stepping up their whole lives,
02:57so I think it's my turn to return the faith.
02:59I think it's my turn to return the faith.
02:59I think it's my turn to return the faith.
