00:32When they first met they were both curious but also very cautious.
00:42We're going to let you watch the first time they met without many cuts so you can see
00:46how they really interacted.
01:04She's shaking as well.
01:06Yeah, she'll be nervous.
01:07She knows the smell.
01:08This is not all Foster meets Foster.
01:11Yeah.
01:13Good girl.
01:17Good girl.
01:18Well done.
01:19She's like, oh, we can play.
01:32So we have two other dogs as well.
01:34A golden retriever named Kobe and a Doberman named Moki.
01:37The first time Sheila met all the dogs together, the dynamics between her and Rusa got real
01:43interesting.
01:44At first, Sheila was a bit scared to join in with the pack.
01:50Because I'm not part of the pack yet.
01:51But Rusa would keep coming up to her and checking on her.
01:55Rusa is so good with her.
01:59And when Kobe and Moki got too excited and scared Sheila a bit, Rusa would go up to them
02:04as if she was telling them to calm down.
02:08Good boy.
02:09He's letting her know.
02:12This gave Sheila the confidence to go up to Kobe.
02:18Kobe's proper checking her out, isn't he?
02:20And again, Rusa would come and check in on her.
02:24Sheila then started following Rusa around.
02:26She definitely felt like she was her safe space.
02:28Yeah.
02:34Look at this.
02:38Yeah.
02:39Rusa looks really tiny.
02:42Yeah.
02:43Rusa's like eight months or something.
02:46Yeah, she is, yeah.
02:47But Rusa did try and dominate Sheila at one point just to let her know who's boss.
02:52Rusa.
02:53Rusa.
02:53Rusa no.
02:54Rusa no.
02:54No, no, no, no, no, no.
02:56The signs of bonding were definitely there.
02:58But it looks like Rusa still needed a bit of convincing.
03:03By day three, Rusa and Sheila took the first steps towards friendship.
03:08Their initial play time marks the beginning of something special.
03:19Sheila and Rusa eventually played a lot.
03:22Throughout the video, we're going to show you how their plays got more and more intense.
03:31We took Sheila out on her first walk and this is where we see how Rusa is slowly becoming
03:36Sheila's rock.
03:37She was super frightened at first, but Rusa was always there for her.
03:47Sheila was too scared to walk.
03:49Ella managed to get her over and guess who's also there to make sure Sheila's okay.
03:53As long as Sheila was running with Rusa, it gave her the confidence to actually do the
03:58walk.
03:58And before we knew it, she was nice and happy alongside Rusa.
04:02Both walking like the two good girls they are.
04:07When we got home, they started doing this and it just melted my heart.
04:13Neither dog had actually had a shower yet.
04:16We had Rusa for about three weeks at this point and Sheila for about a week.
04:20So it was time for their first bath.
04:21Or shower I guess.
04:23We don't actually have a bath.
04:26We did shower them separately.
04:28We had no idea how they were going to react to the shower.
04:30And we thought if we shower them together and one started freaking out, it might set the
04:35other one off.
04:38Luckily, they were both so good.
04:40Both dogs came from rescue centers in the Ukraine.
04:42And I'm guessing they've been groomed before.
04:45They were better than our dog at getting groomed.
04:52Anyway, enjoy this quick montage of the rest of their baths.
04:55Showers, sorry.
04:56Wait.
05:01Here we go.
05:18Here we go.
05:27After their shower, they went absolutely nuts.
05:30And as promised, their players are getting even crazier.
05:33Later on, I'm going to show you when they literally treated the house like an assault course.
05:46So, we've had both dogs for over two weeks now and we're taking them on a walk.
05:50But this time, we're actually going to let both dogs off lead.
05:53We have done quite a lot of recoil training at home and outside for the both of them.
05:58Let's see how this goes.
06:01First thing they do, not surprisingly, is run off into the distance.
06:04I thought, brilliant, I hope they actually come back.
06:07But it became very obvious that one was just going to follow where the other went.
06:15It brought a smile to my face watching them run off together.
06:18They had really started to become two peas in a pod.
06:26When we got back, Sheila decided to jump into Rusa's crate.
06:30We were going to get her out of there, but Rusa didn't seem to mind.
06:39At this point, both pups were literally mimicking each other's movements.
06:43And the next play they had, they went absolutely crazy.
06:47Whilst they're playing, I thought this would be a good time to explain that we are, sadly, only fostering both
06:52pups.
06:53We are on a mission to foster as many rescues as possible and find them a perfect home.
06:58Rusa and Sheila were getting on so well, and we did try and find a family that would take the
07:02both of them.
07:03We vetted everyone who applied, they had to fill out a Google form, and we'd also jump on a video
07:08call for a house check.
07:21These two are literally like having two babies.
07:24What was nice is that our older dogs definitely took on the parent figure.
07:27Well, until our dogs wanted to play too.
07:52Rusa and Sheila ended up going for their forever homes, but I still need to show you when they turned
07:56our house into the playground.
07:58Get dirty and sit around.
07:58We're in jail.
08:11We're in jail.
08:15Oh, my God.
08:49They jumped onto every single bit of furniture possible, and it ended with Rusa running into the door.
08:56Oh, you alright Rusa?
08:59Maybe glass doors wasn't a good idea.
09:01So, after months of careful consideration, we found two incredible families.
09:06Sadly, no fairy tale ending for these two, but it was the best for both of them.
09:11Rusa and Sheila had to say goodbye to each other, but we knew this wasn't the end of their story,
09:16just the beginning of two new ones.
09:18Rusa went to a loving family with another dog who was so comforting for her, and Sheila found a family
09:23that matched her crazy energy.
09:25They were both going to be surrounded by love and happiness.
09:28Though they live in different homes now, their bond for sure remains unbroken.
09:32Rusa and Sheila taught us all the power of friendship, not giving up, and the importance of a loving home.
