00:01Khairi Jamaluddin has cautioned that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim risks losing power
00:06if the Malay vote continues shifting towards Barisan Nasional and Perikatan Nasional.
00:11Speaking on the latest episode of his Kelua Sekejap podcast,
00:15Khairi said Anwar should be concerned by Pakatan Harpan's losses in the recent state polls
00:20and still has time to change course.
00:22If the pattern seen in Negeri Sembilan continues in Melaka
00:26and Malay voters remain with BNPN in the next general election,
00:31Anwar will become a former Prime Minister, he warned.
00:34Khairi said Anwar now faces two choices,
00:37deliver the reforms he promised
00:39or use his powers as Prime Minister to strengthen his political position.
00:43He believes Anwar is leaning towards the latter,
00:46pointing to parliamentary allocations being channeled through the Prime Minister's department
00:51after three PKR MPs were barred from accessing the online portal managing the funds.
00:56The MPs Wong Chen, Lee Chien Chong and Rodzia Ismail had attended the May launch of Bersama,
01:03a party founded by former PKR leaders Rafizi Ramli and Nick Nazmi Nick Ahmad.
01:09Khairi's co-host Sharil Hamdan added that Anwar still has time to win voters back,
01:14but warned that time was running short.
01:17He urged Anwar to acknowledge any shortcomings,
01:20arguing that admitting mistakes could strengthen rather than weaken him.
01:24Anwar last week denied restricting development allocations to any MPs,
01:29maintaining that funds were being channeled directly to the public.
01:33Allocations don't necessarily have to be given to MPs, he was quoted as saying.
