00:07as a minister in Sarawak justified the Premier's decision to retain him in the state cabinet,

00:13despite him losing his vice-president's post in the party polls.

00:18Peter Minos said Karim has been effective in his dual ministerial roles, the Borneo

00:25Karim is the state minister for youth, sports and entrepreneur development as well as tourism,

00:30creative industry and performing arts.

00:34Minos cited Karim's role in helping Sarawak reclaim the title of overall champions at

00:39the Malaysia Games last year and the many initiatives implemented to woo four million

00:44tourists to the state in the same year.

00:47He said as a minister Karim has done wonders for Sarawak and that PBB could not afford

00:52to lose an effective and hardworking minister.

00:57Last night, Sarawak Premier Abang Johari Oping confirmed that Karim would retain his ministerial

01:01post despite securing only 669 votes in the PBB elections, placing him fifth out of the

01:08six candidates vying for the fourth vice-president's post.
