00:00The opposition should have focused on credible alternatives and policy proposals in this July 26 rally,

00:08instead of focusing on Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's failures and demanding his resignation,

00:13says a former Muda Secretary General.

00:16Amir Hadi, now the executive director of civil society group Mandiri,

00:20said he had communicated his reservations to the organizers regarding the use of the Turun Anwar slogan.

00:26He said Turun Anwar is a political move aimed at seizing power,

00:30in line with PN's repeated attempts to topple a government without going through an election.

00:35He said Malaysians may be frustrated with the current government,

00:38but are also wary of political instability that could cause greater harm.

00:42Amir added that while people are angry at Anwar over various issues,

00:47that doesn't mean they want him removed halfway through his term, plunging the country back into instability.

00:53Meanwhile, he also said it was valid to question who PN would propose as Anwar's replacement,

00:59adding that if PN can't agree on a candidate within their own ranks, how can the public trust them?
