00:00The Gabungan Rakyat Sabah-led state government has implemented 51 legal reforms since 2021,
00:06showing its strong commitment to comprehensive reform, says GRS Deputy Secretary General
00:11Armizan Muhammad Ali. He said this proves the coalition is taking concrete steps to
00:16strengthen governance and build a stronger legal foundation in Sabah.
00:20Key laws introduced include the Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Enactment 2022,
00:24Energy Commission of Sabah Enactment 2023, Gas Supply Enactment 2023, and Electricity Supply
00:31Enactment 2024. The Sabah Renewable Energy Enactment 2024 and Climate Change and Carbon
00:37Governance Enactment 2025 also reflects the state's dedication to green energy and environmental
00:43sustainability. Armizan said the GRS government also tabled an anti-hopping law by amending the
00:49Sabah state constitution, marking an important step toward political stability.
00:54On July 31, the state government formed the Sabah Law Reform Advisory Council, chaired by former
00:59Chief Judge of Sabah and Sarawak David Wong, with members including Roger Chin and David
01:04Fung, who was involved in Sabah's successful legal bid to seek 40 percent of federal revenue
01:09derived from the state. Armizan said the council's creation reflects GRS's intent to involve local
01:14experts so reforms are professional, strategic, and contribute to the state's progress and people's
01:19well-being.
