The Bersatu president says the party will be open to considering the proposal put forward by Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi once clearer details are provided.
00:01Bursatu President Muhyiddin Yassin has questioned UMNO President Ahmad Zahid Hamidi's claim of holding talks with Bursatu and past leaders on a proposed grand coalition, saying no one from Bursatu has been man-aided to engage in this matter.
00:17In a statement, he said that the matter had also never been discussed in any meeting of Bursatu's Supreme Council.
00:23He added that such discussions should be conducted transparently, taking into account all factors, including the views of coalition partners in Perikatan National and UMNO's position in the unity government.
00:37Zahid had confirmed meeting several leaders from PAS and Bursatu in an informal meeting to discuss uniting the Malays through a grand coalition.
00:45He said the grand coalition would involve at least 10 top leaders from the various Malay Muslim parties, including the presidents, deputy presidents and other senior leaders.
00:57However, Muhyiddin said he wished to adopt an open stance on the matter, adding that the party would consider the proposal put forward by Zahid after getting clearer input.
