00:14More than three million dollars will be invested in frontline services to improve
00:20triaging of calls for help. Victim survivors need to have
00:24a service system that can be responsive at their time of need.
00:28This will allow us to be more responsive. But the opposition
00:32says that's a drop in the ocean and there's a lack of
00:36urgency. We cannot become numb to women being
00:39murdered in our neighbourhoods. We can't just say thoughts
00:44and prayers and carry on like we have been.
00:47The government has promised to legislate mandatory jail time
00:52for juveniles who commit serious offences while on bail.
00:56Ms Kam says she wants that expanded to high risk
00:59DV offenders. For those domestic
01:02violence perpetrators that are
01:04out on bail, who've committed
01:06serious crimes, who breached that,
01:07they should go to jail. The Minister
01:09has again refused to provide
01:12an update on the Women's
01:14Safety and Justice Task Force
01:16recommendations. A
01:18landmark review into addressing
01:19domestic violence. Hundreds of recommendations were outstanding,
01:24their progress unclear. We are doing
01:27the calm and methodical work to
01:30deliver upon recommendations. I'm sorry,
01:32now is not the time to be calm and methodical.
01:34Women are being murdered. This is a crisis.
01:36They should be in an emergency response mode.
01:39Ms Kam has promised a report later this year.
