00:00uh miami dolphins uh rookies will report tomorrow and then uh the official training camp gets
00:06underway well you know they get to training camp and they got to wear shorts for a few days and
00:10you know how it is you know how it is you guys going to camp i'm gonna try and make
00:15it out there
00:15one day one of these days you know i don't i love going to training camp vlad candidly like i
00:22just
00:22i want leroy to go to camp it's a i'd like to go yeah if i could go with leroy
00:28yeah know what's
00:29going on but i know he's hurting i'm just saying in past years we'll we'll pick a day i'll i'll
00:35go
00:35to camp but a lot of the times yeah a lot of the times camp is like do i like
00:41this it's amazing
00:43that there's only a handful of people out there that say they're going to camp that know what the
00:48hell they're looking at right um one of the big biggest misnomers about camp is a lot of times
00:59coaches put players in bad situations to see if they'll fight to be to give coaching moments
01:08and stuff like that and everybody will come out of camp going oh the defense really dominated or
01:15the offense really dominated when that was the whole plan for example when you run drills like
01:23nine on seven and you run like seven on seven like you're eliminating half of the game that
01:31defenses have to worry about or half of the game that offenses have to worry about so one of the
01:39things they try to do is for offense when you run seven on seven they time the quarterback and how
01:44long
01:45he holds the ball so you can get it to as close as reality as possible because there's no pass
01:51rush
01:54conversely on offense when you run nine on seven and the only thing the defense have to worry about
02:00is you running the football and don't have to worry about play action anything like that
02:05it's gonna look a little awkward for the offense because they ain't worried about offense they just
02:12worry about stopping the run so like there's a lot of parts of practice that i hear comments coming
02:20out of camp and i'm like yeah whatever well hopefully my twitter accounts unlocked by the time camp starts
02:27because i want to be uh wait your twitter's locked yeah i'm locked out of my twitter it's really annoying
02:32what i'm trying to get fixed somebody tried to hack me i stopped them but it's like uh but like
02:39getting x to help you unlock it is i mean it's useless because elon musk is you know he basically
02:45has robots running his thing so you know they're like oh your case is in is in queue i'm like
02:51but
02:52when does the like you know any other website known to man you can get your account unlocked in like
02:57a
02:58day right but elon musk is busy you know building you know cheese rockets who knows what the hell he's
03:04up
03:04to i think the south is right the iguana corporation got you it could have who knows who knows um
03:10but i
03:12do like the tweets i do like the tweets of like hey bombski from malik willis to malik washington i
03:21do
03:21like those tweets that feels like football that feels like football so i like i guess i guess like i
03:30i mean
03:31and and i don't ever want people to think i'm like i'm like not caring about it but i like
03:39to care
03:39about the things that are important like if i watch camp i like even though it's not a good indication
03:49of how good you are you can get a lot from one-on-one pass rush right because it's all
03:56about using your
03:57hands it's not about physicality it's about quick feet using your hands and what have you and you can
04:02see how your offensive lineman or how your defensive lineman is learning to adapt to that because they
04:09never had to do that in college i'd like to know like what the like it would be an interesting
04:13year
04:14to go out there if you were into like the trenches because i'd like to know whether or not kenneth
04:20grant
04:20is improving or if savaya nai is improving or either one of them dominating too much is good
04:26news or bad news for either one of them um i would say that you look at those two guys
04:35and and and just
04:38not have them being pushed around if they're you know one of the hardest things for like a lot of
04:45offense and defensive lineman is you think you're just gonna go out there and out physical or speed
04:50somebody and then you get one of those 70 inch arms and you can't do nothing so how well you're
04:57using
04:57your arms how well you're using your technique has your technique improved to put you in better
05:03positions to be the player that you are you can be and i think that's a um a lot of
05:10stuff that
05:10young guys have to get acclimated to is the technique of it and realizing that everybody
05:17on that football field is just as athletic if not more athletic than you so what are you going to
05:22do
05:22to separate from that person there's very few guys that are playing football right now that you go
05:34that guy's a freak of nature there's a handful of them with all the couple of thousand
05:40people playing football in the nfl but isn't it supposed to be fair like are we judging the
05:47rookie like that because he's they're talking about him like he's a freak of nature even though he was
05:51the third tackle taken and he's going to be playing guard um well with with that from that standpoint yes
06:00but but they said the same thing about patrick paul and he didn't play his first year not really
06:05though people talk about patrick paul like he was a project like he was going to be a project because
06:08you know he didn't play like i'm a highest level of right of college you know right um
06:14i think to some to to to some extent when you draft a guy like that he already possessed some
06:23of the
06:23skills you say that patrick paul had to pick up yeah right now it's a matter of what position he's
06:32gonna play um whether he's comfortable at that position um because like i've told you before it
06:41is a real awkward thing like a lot of those offensive linemen are gonna have the same problem i have
06:48after i have surgery not used to going left no don't know how to use their wiper they're not used
06:56to going
06:56left like just imagine your whole career you put the right hand down now you got to put the left
07:01hand down well i think they yeah i think they but they put everybody in their more natural position
07:06think everybody's in their natural position so hopefully right we'll have to see you know and
07:12those are those are things to pick up on to see right even not how they perform does he look
07:19more
07:19comfortable where he is because sometimes when you're comfortable more comfortable it's easier to learn
07:25i feel like you're gonna be really sweaty with a bionic arm and training camp
07:31yeah that's gonna be funky you gotta change that yeah no you i think you put a sleeve underneath it
07:36for moisture we need to get like funky too no but i got you get a bunch of sleeves can
07:41we get like a
07:41little fan like a little fan that goes in the thing be where it's gonna be alan iverson the older
07:46version
07:49so from that standpoint like i'll i could point like certain things out but i would watch
07:57one of the indications you could get from that is you know watching the team activities but but
08:04watching how comfortable every is everybody taking quick steps is everybody off the ball does anybody
08:10look uncomfortable awkward like they have to learn that position you know those are the things that
08:17and not only us but the coaches and when they watch film after practice they they have to come to
08:22the
08:22conclusion that and hopefully it's not a situation where we have to play him here right right
08:28you
08:28you
