00:00Tell me about the trade deadline. Your best three offensive players are left-handed hitters,
00:04and you ended up getting Luis Arise, who's left-handed, but I mean, he hits
00:08both lefties and righties. What were your other options, and were you pretty pleased to get Arise,
00:14who's really turned into a good two-way player now? Well, we were happy to get Arise, but going
00:19into the all-star break and then coming out of it and going into the trading deadline,
00:23our real thought process is we'd like to come up with a right-hand hitting bat if we could,
00:28and really for us, it would have to be in the outfield because our infield was pretty well set.
00:32The reality was there just were not many people out there, if any, as you mentioned. There were
00:38a couple of guys that we liked that we thought were more platoon-type outfielders, and we felt
00:43somebody like Brian De La Cruz, who just came up in our organization for the month of July, was
00:47pretty comparable to those type of bats, so we were open-minded to try to help our offense any way
00:53that we possibly could.
