00:00Iger, congratulations into your 23rd WTA 1000 semi-final, an incredible record and really
00:06assertive tennis you played tonight in tricky conditions. I just wonder if there was something
00:10specific that you think you did really well tonight? Well, for sure, adjusting to the lefty
00:16spin was something that I really wanted to focus on and, you know, get that right from the first
00:21balls. Then it got pretty windy, so that was another challenge. And I think I was, you know,
00:26really solid in these conditions and under these circumstances. And I kept my game plan
00:32and focus till the end, so I was pretty consistent throughout the whole match.
00:36Just on the conditions a little bit, Diana had a really windy match in her last match and
00:39she dealt with the conditions very well. Was that a part of your homework at all or not really?
00:45Honestly, I didn't watch her last match, so I had no idea. But, well, I knew that in the
00:50evening it might, I mean, later during the day it gets more windy. I didn't experience
00:55that yet in Toronto. But, you know, I wanted to focus on myself and, you know, just getting
01:02the footwork right and not being stuck in one place to always be able to move to the ball a
01:08little bit differently than I would normally because of the wind, you know? So that's it.
01:14But I didn't know that her last match was so windy, so I guess she had maybe a little bit
01:18more advantage in that.
01:20And then you, a lot of players sort of speak about how difficult it is to face left-handed players,
01:25but you have a really good record of 34 wins and four losses against left-handed players.
01:30And does that record surprise you at all? Does it change the way that you approach these matches?
01:36Well, I gotta say, yeah, it's not like for me it's a huge challenge because I use that experience that
01:45you
01:47mentioned and I played many matches like that. For me it's just a matter of like being focused about
01:53like switching the geometry of the court a little bit, but besides that it's quite, it's still the
02:01same game, you know? So I'm following my plan anyway, but just if I, you know, for example, think a
02:10little
02:10bit more before the match about the opponent and visualize it like from her forehand from the other
02:16side, backhand from the other side of the surf with a different spin, then during the match it becomes
02:21more natural. And just lastly, you're obviously, you know, a six-time Grand Slam champion. You've had
02:26long periods of dominance on the tour, particularly winning 37 consecutive matches back in 2022. I just
02:31wonder how close now that you're sort of having a good streak in Toronto, how close to your best tennis
02:36do you feel like you're playing now? Oh my god. Well, that's a big jump from now to the best
02:45streak ever, but I don't know how should I even answer that. For sure I'm playing quite good and
02:52I'm feeling good in Toronto, like for sure these four matches give me some confidence because probably
03:01the most like consistent tournament that I had this season, but still, you know,
03:07it's not a crazy, you know, result. Obviously I really appreciate it, but still to compare it to
03:16this 2022, it's too different, you know? But for sure you need to start from something,
03:24so I'm happy that I won these matches here.
