00:26This has been a dream really come true. It's been an incredible year for her.
00:34Oh my God, it was unbelievable. That week was crazy. It started off with us going to a Shakira concert, me and my dad.
00:41And it was just us there because I wasn't even planning on playing that tournament.
00:45So just me and my dad going out there. I don't even know what we were doing.
00:49We were almost just having a good time and then I just kept kind of winning.
00:52And then I was like, oh my God, this could actually be a pretty cool moment.
00:55It was just a really fun week. I don't know what's better, the concert or winning.
01:01The WTA stage is big, but she's quickly getting comfortable under the bright lights.
01:06I'm sorry, I need it for tomorrow.
01:09I'm definitely still getting used to it because I started off the year playing a lot of ITFs where you're kind of just in the middle of a park sometimes.
01:16And then the big court stuff to obviously give it a different feel. So I think I'm still getting used to it.
01:22But you just have to remember that that's the fun part of it. And that's kind of why you want to play tennis.
01:27Surrounded by supportive players, she's found her tribe on tour.
01:32It's been incredible. I think I have a great group of girls around me. All the Americans are really supportive.
01:37The vets and the young ones as well coming up. Jess, Maddie. I mean, I train with Maddie in Orlando a ton. So that's really fun.
01:44And then all the young girls. Teresa, Vicky, who won Montreal. She had an unreal week. Maya Joint.
01:50So kind of the junior girls that were rising up together. And then the older Americans.
01:55Those girls are great to kind of show you the experience and keep you grounded.
01:59And then it's nice to have some girls your own age that you can kind of just go and have fun with outside the court.
02:05And though it's all smiles and friendly on tour, it was actually a good old sibling rivalry that sparked her motivation to get better at tennis.
02:13I got into tennis because my sister was playing. I pretty much just wanted to do whatever she did and better.
02:19So it was just that little sibling rivalry to start. And we were just going at it, playing all the time, competing.
02:26Some nasty calls as well, but that definitely got the drive.
02:29I think that's probably one of the biggest things about me and my personality, how competitive I am.
02:34I love winning, but I also hate losing probably more than I love winning.
02:37And ahead of her, big goals, sharp focus and a clear direction.
02:42Just continuing to develop. I mean, we're almost at preseason, so a lot of developmental goals to try to get better.
02:49And ranking wise, sneak a seated spot at AO. That'll be tough, but I think it's a reasonable goal to shoot for.
