00:00Eva congratulations. Thank you. Two excellent wins here for your first
00:03appearance in Queens. How important is it for you to get some hours on the court
00:06especially because the grass season is quite short? Yeah the grass season is
00:10short and it's a surface that most of the players aren't used to playing on so
00:15I think it's a lot about who can adapt the best and the earliest so you want to
00:19get as many matches as you can on this surface so that's why you know I'm
00:23playing singles I'm playing doubles here and thankfully I've won these first two
00:26so I get to keep playing and yeah hopefully I can keep that going. I'm not
00:29playing doubles here with Alex but you have in the past and
00:33obviously a player you know very well and she's obviously great on the grass
00:36winning the tournament last week. Just tell us about her performance today and
00:39have you had any chance to exchange words since the match? Yeah we were just
00:44talking for like 20 minutes I was almost late for media because we were talking
00:47in the locker room but completely unrelated to tennis by the way so the
00:51match has been pretty much forgotten already but yeah she's she's a great
00:55player and I think this is probably one of one of her best surfaces so you know
01:01that shows with the title she won last year and it was a fight out there
01:05obviously the score line was a little smoother I think than the match actually
01:09was and I just kind of snuck out those games that were pivotal and kind of
01:15shifted the momentum on my side but you know it can it can get quite tight if you
01:20don't get those games so I'm happy to do that and serve well return well that was I
01:24think the main two things that helped me. And then the British weather of is of
01:28course being British weather this week and it makes it tricky with the stop
01:32start nature of it all and you know sometimes fitting practices in how have
01:35you found that so far? Yeah that's that's been a challenging thing especially with
01:39the with the body to have to rewarm up again and kind of get used to also the
01:43different movement and everything on the grass so a lot of it is about you know
01:48managing yourself and trying to stay healthy through all those kind of stop
01:52start but so far it's it's been good and I just kind of have to keep like
01:57mentally accepting all the all the stopping but I'm lucky today I finished
02:02and now the rain is happening so I got a bit lucky. And just lastly you've of
02:08course grown up on the hard courts and but you have shown a lot of promise on
02:11the grass winning Ilkley last year and four matches at Wimbledon as well is it a
02:16surface that you enjoy and how do you see the surface suit in your game?
02:20It's definitely a surface I enjoy and obviously last year I had good success I
02:24had good success in the juniors as well as well on the grass so it's a surface
02:29I'm pretty natural on I don't know from where because I didn't grow up playing on
02:33it but I don't know I played soccer growing up so I keep saying maybe that
02:36helped me you know okay get me moving better on the grass but certain things
02:41that I do I stay pretty low and change direction those are things that are
02:45pretty effective on the grass so I think it's just a good fit but yeah let's see
02:49hopefully it keeps going
02:50you
02:51you
