00:03enjoying yourself here in Charleston. How pleased are you to be through to the
00:06semi-finals? Yeah I'm obviously really happy, it's a pleasure to be here, it's
00:11such a nice venue, such a nice tournament and obviously you want to go
00:15far in tournaments so being in the semis is a great step for me starting the clay
00:18season. And you seem to be really comfortable in the clay courts, I know
00:22you were saying on the court it's kind of one of those that it suits your game
00:25but also maybe it's just about how other people don't adapt well to the courts
00:28and that can kind of you can then help to kind of dictate play yourself and how
00:32are you finding the transition to the clay this year so far? Yeah I think this
00:36week is specifically tricky because all these girls played Miami a week ago so
00:42everyone's had a short turnaround and I think I've done a good job of just being
00:45open, being adaptable, keeping an open mind to the clay and the differences, not
00:50expecting it to be perfect right because we haven't had a lot of time to adjust
00:54and I put in a lot of work, a lot of movement drills, a lot of things that are
00:58getting me moving on the surface better. That's the main thing, the movement's very
01:01different so I've gotten better with that and it's been paying off. And next
01:06will be the semi-final, an all-American encounter between you and Jess.
01:10Obviously what are her strengths, the defending champion here, what are you
01:13going to be looking out for in the semi? Yeah I think she's really compact with
01:17her strokes, very technically sound, she moves quite well and changes direction
01:23frequently so she gets on offense and her ball has a good amount of pace on it. I
01:28would say she's an all-around player, you know, there's no pure weaknesses or
01:33something that you can target so you really need to work the point and you
01:36need to beat her, you know, she's not just gonna go away so yeah I've got to be
